I put your videos in the background when I am studying. The sound of your voice with the noises the car makes, relax me and makes me enjoy studying. Keep up the good work. Btw I also watch your videos during my free time so don't think that your videos are only enjoyable as background noise. They are very interesting and fun!!
I'm loving my ST. Checked all the boxes for me. I could definitely understand how the 400hp is a bit much. I rarely utilize it considering the crazy roads I drive every day, but it's nice to have, and it handles great on windy roads in the woods covered in pot holes. So far I'm very impressed by it.
Love the videos Topher! They’re all very relaxing as opposed to some videos out there who are ‘fake’ excited or simply just doing too much lol. The explorer reminds me of the Pilot from the exterior a little. Also! I totally got myself a Ranger Raptor, that thing checks all the boxes and more, better value than the Tacoma I was considering. Keep doing your thing!
Boy I wanted to like my 21 ST.....10x in the shop, everything from electrical to transfer case and everything in between. Thank heavens I bought the extended warranty. They gave me a 25 as a loaner and the driving experience was much improved. Don't think I'm going to convince the wifey to get another seeing it's her daily.
Ford needs to put the Coyote 5.0 in the Explorer at that price point. I've owned a Fusion Sport and an F150 which both had the 2.7l ecoboost. They were fun, but just not as satisfying, especially with the sound coming from them.
It's interesting to see a mishmash of old and new tech in this car. It's got a thoroughly modern gauge cluster and infotainment which seem easy to use (although I have beef with touchscreen-only climate and the giant RPM number). Some parts of the interior are starting to look old, especially the steering wheel. I think other brands have done a good job of simplifying the controls without removing many buttons. And I question the usefulness of the power rear seats, which seem pretty slow in comparison to yanking a strap. Maybe it suits a Lincoln, but for a daily driver family SUV, I'd rather the seats fold quickly and have one less part to break.
Topher, was looking at these used as they seem to be a decent value after 2-3 years with 30-50k. Would you say it’s worth waiting to pick up a 25’ used?
Finally the moment we’ve been waiting for! Awesome video Topher! I think I might be planning on getting it cause my mom had one years ago, and new Ford chime? Huh, never heard that for the first time at all, especially in this vehicle, and the turn signals/hazard lights, man those clicks sound freshly cool!
The platinum one is a bit confusing why they used the same tire size as this one. You have to get the smaller engine if you want the 20’s without the nicer leather as well. Awesome review, wish they put a nicer exhaust looks wise on these.
0:48 love that chime, ford really made it better i really like it a lot but ford made the Explorer look better than the 2020-24 but I still like the 2020-24 model 3:21 that chime again!!
Love your reviews, will be more helpful if you include more on safety features testing and functionalities. Considering this trim for next vehicle. Tried ST Line and ST recently- quite a huge difference from power. Both a bit stiff on the road as compare to my current BMW X3 2023.. Looking forward for a better infotainment system hopefully SW upgrade sort it before i get one - (BMW has far better functional menus and functionality at least at 1st glance). Awaiting to test drive platinum with 3.0L to decide which trim ill take..
Are the quad exhaust tips fake? I seem to remember it being just cosmetic before, with the real muffler tailpipes behind it. I think that's kind of lame.
Love the last gen explorer especially the ST. But this new gen’s grille is so fugly, I would never buy this. Even in all black exterior it still looks like a gaping catfish mouth.
Infrared cameras to monitor driver awareness. You can only see the infrared flashing with a camera. When using BlueCruise it actively watches your eyes and warns you if you take them away from the road ahead for too long. Too too long and it will disable the system.
that rpm gauge and the way it's displayed as a number like that is beyond stupid and un-intuitive. hate it. that's enough for me not to buy a ford with that gauge cluster. call me petty, i don't care.
I agree. That is why I have always been a proponent of analog gauges. There are still some manufacturers that make clusters that have a combination of analog needles with an integrated digital screen (usually between the tach and speedo).
This looks pretty nice honestly and the interior kinda feels better than I'm used to from a Ford. One thing I am not sure of though is that trim piece that goes from the right to the instrument cluster from behind the infotainment. It almost looks unfinished and doesn't merge well with the cluster or the binnicle. Really weird design and sticks out to me for some reason. Maybe I'd get used to it but in this video its triggering my OCD a little.
Twin turbos with 3.0L v-six = lots of engine bay heat and overstressed engine. More to break. V-six sound is... umm... off. No physical HVAC controls. Looks like the no piano black in the cabin 😁Gas mileage not so good. I get better all around mpg (real world 25-26) on my CX-70 Turbo S premium than this gets on the highway. The in-line six which has one twin scroll turbo isolated by a barrier and insulation from the engine, has slightly less HP also sounds way better while being plenty quick. CX-70 cabin is far more classy and has physical controls for everything. And reliability? I don't trust Ford. I have 12 years of driving model year 2013 Mazda's and above and have had just one issue that required a part replacement... and that was my fault. It is nice to see Ford putting some fun into the mundane SUV (like my CX-70), but for me, the quality and styling isn't there.
Ford interiors keep getting worse imo. It’s a 2025 and Ford is still sticking an iPad out of the dash. The lack of physical controls is a fail and it just looks cheap overall.
Ford interiors look so cheap to me. I can't imagine spending that much money and sitting there looking at silver plastic trim and feeling good about my purchase.

@@xFlared hahaha looking forward to it 😂
There isn’t a single car on the market where a vertical screen looks good.
Thank you!
Polestar 2 ?
when a 30k subaru has auto up/down on all windows, no vehicle over 50k should be excused for not also having that feature.
My 2008 Tahoe had this. 4 Vehicles since haven't, and they've all been "Better equipped". It makes no sense to me
My family Focus MK3 has one touch on all 4 lol it's insane an Explorer 2025 doesn't.
My $25k Focus ST had all auto up/down. Ridiculous that this new turd doesn’t.
Is the 30k Subaru a massive 3 row hauler with a 400 horsepower twin turbo engine and performance upgrades? The cost is just allocated somewhere else
My 2015 Fusion Titanium had one-touch up/down windows on all 4, so I'm not sure what happened there. Cost-cutting, maybe?

I have one in the same exact configuration, to include same color, on its way from the factory right around thanksgiving. Can't Wait!!

Agree 100%. The steering wheel needed an update as well.

Because a rwd Explorer ST exist? Must be quite tail happy?

Love the design of this car 👌
0:23 that baby looks so cute if one day if I buy it then I am going on a date with it
Cute 😂😂😂
… uhh ok? ;-;
love this
50 K for a Ford Explorer? Ummmmm no.
I have been pondering the Platinum with the 3.0L and AWD. I wonder if that is less stiff afa suspension settings and such.
Love the last gen explorer especially the ST. But this new gen’s grille is so fugly, I would never buy this. Even in all black exterior it still looks like a gaping catfish mouth.
That welcome sound should be different for cars and suv
interesting to see the interceptor still uses the old front facia on the 25
Review on 2024 Elantra N DCT anytime soon?
What's the thing on the steering column that keeps flashing?
Infrared cameras to monitor driver awareness. You can only see the infrared flashing with a camera. When using BlueCruise it actively watches your eyes and warns you if you take them away from the road ahead for too long. Too too long and it will disable the system.

I can see the complaint, sure it’s a fairly stupid reason not to get one, but that would be a little obnoxious for sure
Hopefully the view can be configured to avoid that ugly tach?
wait until you see Hyundai’s … 😂
Drink enough haterade this morning?
Owners of this generation explorer
how reliable is this car?
This looks pretty nice honestly and the interior kinda feels better than I'm used to from a Ford. The piece also continues on the left side.
I don’t need all the sportiness of the ST, I would just get the Platinum, which looks more luxury looking with the same power.
The ST has a quite bit more power than the base model. Would be nice to have the ST with those luxury features though.
@@alexl.102 Its called a Platnium with the TT 3.0
@ the platinum doesnt have the twin turbos though, only v6
@@alexl.102 it has the same engine as the ST
Hello I have a review request, could you please review the 2024 Honda crv hybrid?
Finally updated that ugly vertical screen from the previous interior lol. I like this though
I was thinking the same thing
I love how ford has the vapor blue for the Explorer. Vapor Blue was originally a Mustang color introduced for the 2024 model of the Ford Mustang.
Twin turbos with 3.0L v-six = lots of engine bay heat and overstressed engine. More to break. V-six sound is... umm... off. No physical HVAC controls. I paid this for an Audi Q7 Prestige. That’s insanity.
I would go for Platinum with v6,
I hate these giant info screens. At least integrate them into the dash instead of making it look like an add on accessory.
The center stack looks like a guy wearing a hat with one single grilled tooth and big open smile.
that thing is a MONSTA
Ford interiors keep getting worse imo. It’s a 2025 and Ford is still sticking an iPad out of the dash. The lack of physical controls is a fail and it just looks cheap overall.
Pretty much all manufacturers went to a tablet style infotainment system. Unfortunately it's the new normal
I wish it had a CD player
Why does it have the 2011 explorer chime lol
NO & YES؟
Overpriced. Ford seems to be following the path of Stellantis.
hopefully doesnt have the 10R80 for almost 60k..
58k for this is nuts
Still not a fan of the tacked on tablet infotainment. The F150 integration is much better.
what's the point of this truck? towing? there's nothing really special about it and all of that power without an LSD? Ford is crazy.
Don’t know why but this interior looks almost like a toy. I hate it.
Hate the tachometer
Ford interiors look so cheap to me. I can't imagine spending that much money and sitting there looking at silver plastic trim and feeling good about my purchase.
you act this vehicle is supposed to be a perfect car.
Time stamp was 15:50 was a bit hairy lol
He was pulling out like a cop 😂
i question your use of the word 'hairy'
