The fact that sable is a former WWF/E women's champion, and Luna isn't makes that championship a joke and killed all legitimacy it once had. If that championship was defended in shoot contests, Luna would've moped the floor with sable. I give credit to pretty much anyone after who held it for trying to bring back some legitimacy to it's linage.
I'd like to see Luna and Chyna treat Sable like a wishbone.

I thought Luna was hot but that's me Rena was as well but not wrestling material she was tit's and ass for the TV she had no interest in doing any of it but I guess the $$ was good enough I heard she was doing this to get into modeling but Jim is right she was like the Warrior a million $$ body but no talent. Luna on a episode of Raw even went into the ring and said to Rena straight out the only reason you have this job is because of your looks Rena was rude and built a ego in the back as well thought she was better than the other girls. ya the title became a joke but it has in recent years as ell there is a title for anything it used to be a prestigious thing to be in that spot now it's all a joke and the belts look so cheap.

What Jim describes what she should have done sounds exactly like the things Trish did. She started because of her look and no knowledge, asked colleagues for help and became a "respected" star in the business.
Trish is a goddess. I remember when she first started, i thought she was just gonna be another Sable, but boy did she prove me wrong, and I'm glad she did. I have the utmost respect for Trish.

You'll find enough female wrestlers stating Trish as their inspiration, good luck finding the same for Sable.

I never got what the big deal was about Sable. To me, she always looked 10-15+ years older than she actually was.
She was older when she debuted, 29-30 range. She did look older but her body was a 10/10.

Jim Helwig or however you spell his name was a real primadonna in his heyday was a nightmare to work with, he never respected the business, he never tried to get any better, etc. They even pulled similar antics. Granted, yes, Warrior actually did accomplish something in the business, but personality wise I see where Cornette is coming from.

Mero has said numerous times he wanted to retire and didn't care if he was putting her over. As far as Austin not wanting to work with Mero.. Mero was already a low card jobber well before that power bomb losing matches to Al Snow and Taka clean. So it's hard to believe he was just going to get a mega push to suddenly work a feud with Austin. that whole story just sounds fishy and unclear.

As a teenager when sable hit it big. We loved her. Until they let her wrestle. No way she was better than Jackie.
Jackie could wrestle, so could Ivory but Vince would have Sable to be the face of the women's division until Chyna came alone. But he put Sable as Jim says her looks and breasts then she leaves and Sues WWE and got a few million then I think they took her back at some point. But wouldn't take Chyna back from her downward spiral her adult video past and drug past but a women who sued for millions

I never understood why they felt the need to let Sable "wrestle" in the first place. It's certainly okay for women in wrestling to not wrestle. Managing is a perfectly valid role. You certainly never saw Miss Elizabeth carrying on like she was a wrestler. I mean some ladies could do both, but Sable wasn't one of them.

As a teenager during the mid 90s, I can confirm Cornette's remarks. Sunny earned her name, as she was the hottest thing in the universe, while Sable was trash.

I had a group of friends who were wrestling fans back in the 90s. They all loved Sable. I kept telling them I didn't see it. My favorite was Sunny. Maybe there was a vibe that Sable gave off, but I never got why she was as big as she was made.

I was a sable fan myself I didn’t care for sunny too much , she’s a pretty girl don’t get me wrong but I just loved sable she was all woman to me and she wrestled and was women’s champion sunny just skipped around the ring so I didn’t find her interesting at all. But everyone has their favorites.
She was Vince's plaything and the Attitude Era was the perfect timing for him to have that. And keep in mind she left for years after suing for sexual harassment.

@@alexgrant1415 Sunny could cut a promo, she was charismatic as hell. She was 20 years ahead of her time, and would've been great in today's era. Sable ran the plays that were called for her in THAT era though, and did it much better than Sunny based on the ratings she drew.

Actually, there was at least one aspect of The Ultimate Warrior to separate himself from Sable - he was super intense with his talking (which is kind of an understatement in his case with his voice) and in-ring energy, even if he wasn’t a good worker. Sable, on the other hand had nothing more than looks, which were helped by surgical enhancement that Sunny certainly didn’t need.
Still, you can’t really blame the WWF for promoting and pushing her above the other women when she was (like it or not) the most profitable of them all. The main priority of any business is to make as much money as possible. Yes, I agree that Sable did as little work as possible, was self-entitled and cared nothing for the industry or her co-workers, and I certainly don’t like that about her. But it’s not like anyone was having their rights violated by her or her prominence. It’s just an unfortunate occurrence for them that a wrong, yet marketable, type of woman ended up where they were.
Yeah Sunny was incredible, full stop. I always turned into a tongue-tied idiot when I saw her on screen. Never had the same response to Sable. Just totally fake. Pity Sunny's life went to shit, she was gorgeous.

Looks-wise I agree with you about Sunny, though I personally preferred that of Sable, even if it was enhancements that did the trick. But that’s just me.

I mean I get why Cornette despises her Sable and Warrior but they put butts in the seats. When you're running a business you have to do the best thing for that business (though I hate to use that line, it's true). That invariably means pushing people you can't stand on a personal level sometimes, people that you know don't get it or care about the busiiness, but they're good at one thing that's over with the fans. They're using the WWF for money, you use them right back. You can't grow a multi-million dollar wrestling promotion off of the "pure" performers. You have to have attractions too. Cornette has a great mind for the art of wrestling but a terrible mind for the business.
I don't know much about the Ultimate Warrior thing but Sable was pretty much useless in the long run and was one of the bad things that did not age well when one remembers or even looks back at the Attitude Era when rewatching. She was just fanservice who wanted everyone to cater to her and make her look good while she did zip and while she did put butts in seats and helped with ratings, her popularity was just shallow, she was hot and that was it. Plenty of others were hotter, like everyone always says Sunny > Sable but Sunny still had a lot going for her, even if she wasn't a wrestle or couldn't wrestle. Sable at best just ruined her husband's career when he could have went somewhere.
No matter what Jim rants about, his disdain for Sable tops them all.

The best fight I saw Sable have was at a Raw at Penn State, she got into it with Sunny in the back and Tammys top was off and it was a stiff shoot and Tammy probably would have really hurt Sable had some of the boys not reluctantly stopped it.

She always looked 2nd best next to the real top female performers in her era. Even as eye candy she didn't hold a candle to the real beauties back then.
