That was pretty amazing. Thanks for not doing a simple wall. I have hung wallpaper for over 40 years and you tackled the tough stuff. I will show this to my staff instead of trying to describe it. I made sure to support you as well.
First-time wallpaperer here! This tutorial was by far the most helpful of all the videos I watched. The tip to start from the bottom if you’re in a tricky spot saved my sanity! Thank you!
Thank you so much, it was a great tutorial! I especially liked that you picked a non flat wall with angles, electrical outlets, window and the decorative wood area. . You showed how to position the wallpaper and cut around everything and the wall area that you needed to start at the bottom instead of the top plus all the other tips. This was definitely a helpful video because of the problem/difficult areas that many of us could face and not know what to do. Looking forward to viewing your other videos.
Well done ! I'm a professional paper hanger in Houston Tx for more than 30 years and let me tell you ? peel and stick it is a very nice material to work with.some of them have stronger adhesive than others.you did a very good job.i liked the way you finished the top of the window ! very good job !
My husband and I had the best little morning date watching this video before we dive into a project. Thanks for all the tips and laughs! What a tricky space to wallpaper and you pulled it off seamlessly!
Ahaha me too! I've been renovating my whole house/property for about a year now and my neighbors are scared of me bc they just hear "random" yelling and cussing 😂
I have to say after perusing a number of videos about vinyl wallpaper, yours was the only one of value. Showed the process and tricky applications, and reminded me that I’ll always underestimate the amount of paper needed. Well done. Subscribing
I’m so bummed that we didn’t have this option when I lived with my sister in an apartment! We lost our security deposit for painting without permission-and we deserved it. Imagine school-bus yellow walls in a kitchen, done by novice painters (probably after a few beers 😬)
I was arrogant and started 3 simultaneous rooms as I needed to order extra as I misjudged the amount I needed. I really REALLY. needed to watch this beforehand. You tackled every one of my issues. Thank you! Your work and tutorials are fantastic!!!! Love from michigan!!❤❤❤
I love your video! One tip I sometimes use is start with the longer pieces if possible. This way, if you screw them up somehow, you may be able to re-use it in an area where a shorter piece is needed.
SO HELPFUL! I've never hung peel & stick wallpaper before, let alone on the wonky walls of a 100+ year old home. The starting line with the level was gamechanging. Thanks for making it so easy to get this job done 🥰
My friend and I are going to tackle some peeling stick for the first time and I’ve watched a few videos and I agree with the other people. I think yours is one of the best I’ve seen, seriously, very explanatory and patient.
I watched quite a few videos before I started hanging my peel & stick wallpaper. Your video is hands down the absolute best & informative video of all of them. You did a great job explaining & showing the problem areas you may encounter. Thank you very much!!!
I’ve hung plenty of traditional wallpaper but never the peel and stick. This was a great tutorial. I typically use a 4-6” broad metal putty knife to trim with - it’s thinner and easier for me to trim around. I do use a plastic smoother though. The other thing I do to keep things looking right is on the right hand side of the windows I draw an additional vertical level line since there is such a small amount at the bottom to use as a guide for the whole piece - yours turned out beautiful though!
Thank you so much, you made it very easy to follow & understand!! It also looks SO much brighter already from the before pic! We have a loft/attic space that looks very much like that. The walls have tiny little bumps all over them (not sure what that is called) so it’s not a candidate for wallpaper but I’m thinking of putting up maybe beadboard or something over it. We had to renovate our bathroom and I really don’t want the mess of removing & installing new drywall up there. It serves as a guest bedroom.
I'm about to use peel-and-stick wallpaper for the first time and these tips are so helpful! Your room turned out great. I just love the visual impact of wallpaper.
I'm enjoying your video. One small comment to be helpful is that the line that you used a level to make sure your 1st sheet is correct is called a plumb line. A level line is horizontal, and a plumb line is vertical.
Thank you. I just bought some peal and stick and I needed instruction and you explained soooo well. Now I’m going to get my paint first like you suggested. Thanks again and I will subscribe.
I'm freaking out because I am about to do this for the first time today. Thank you for providing so many useful tips. I would have never considered marking a level line to start with. I would have aligned the first sheet with what I'm sure is an uneven wall and messed up the entire application. Overlapping the sheets and starting with extra on the ceiling are also great tips that I would not have considered. Thank you again for putting this video out into the world. I'm sure it has helped may people.
I'm wanting to paper just the wall over & around my bedroom door and closet - I grew up in an old house where just about every room was wallpapered... I had no idea that this removable/temporary wallpaper existed. Now that I've downsized and moved into my leased senior community apartment - this is just the thing. I sure appreciate your taking the time & efforts to do this tutorial. I actually think I'm going to be able to do this - wallpaper adds so much to an interior room. Thanks, very much...
Super helpful! It's my first time hanging wallpaper and these tips are going to make it a lot less stressful, thank you for taking the time to make this video!
Great job! It is looking great! I really appreciate that you share it all when you do these kind of jobs. Wallpapering has always intimidated me. I might give it a go!
Thank you for posting this. My husband was much more willing to do a small project with me after we watched this video together..really appreciated the little tips for outlets and window corners ;)
Well done. Other videos don't instruct to use a level or a chalk line to set the starting line. One suggestion: verify the starting wall level too. If it's off more than a quarter of an inch it might be best to measure from the point that would be farthest and use that as the start line mark so as to overlap the difference. Also, those outlets are actually called light switches. Lol!
Another very informative video…ammunition (I say that very lovingly, as he is the best !) to show my hubby that we should try it…he is not crazy about wallpaper and I am crazy for wallpaper (not everywhere of course). Thank you for sharing !
Brilliant tutorial. Peel and stick wallpaper was bought by mistake from amazon. Can't be bothered sending it back, so I'm going to follow your instructions. I can paste and hang paper, so I'm thinking I should be able to do it. Thanks for the tutorial
This is fantastic thank you so much. Can you please explain how you cut little pieces to fit in around the window instead of deceasing a full strip and cutting around the window? I don’t quite understand. I was wallpapering for the first time and as I went around the window, all of a sudden on the other side of the window, it didn’t match up anymore. I was using a full panel over the window and then cutting that part off and then using the panel underneath the window if that makes any sense?
I’m not quite following your question, I’m sorry! Traditionally if you have to go around an obstacle you use the full panel and cut out where needed. I only added pieces to this section because it was too small to work with a full piece easily.
You mention using good quality paper and that is probably what has kept me from doing the project I want. I don’t want to end up picking the wrong paper. Can you recommend good paper from experience and/or paper to stay away from?
@@GraceInMySpace My parents and GF are still laughing. The wallpaper was a marble pattern. So some of it didn't match up. My mother said you wouldn't notice it unless you looked hard. I think she was trying to spare my feelings lol. I'm happy with it, it went up grand and it looks nice in the bathroom. Thanks for asking..
How apropos. I just got some peel and stick wallpaper for a wall in my kitchen, so this was a good refresher/tutorial for me. It looks great, by the way!
You did great! When the roll came in did it have a # on it? I used to work in a home decore store and you wanted those codes to match or they may not match on the wall. Hopefully yours is fine. If you can find the #, I would ask for a roll from that batch if possible.
LOVE The options of Paper!! I wish I knew where I could physically visit & make a more informed decision. I’d love to visit the store to compare with others’ they may have at the physical store OR could work better in the space. We shall see. Good luck on the project!
Starting our bathroom now with my husband and this video was a big help. We should easily be able to knock it out with two people! Thanks!

Hello, how much is the tiny overlap of paper for shrinkage? Thanks
Just an 1/8” should be enough!
@@GraceInMySpace I start doing my wallpapering tomorrow so your reply is much appreciated. Thank you 👍

You mention using good quality paper and that is probably what has kept me from doing the project I want. I don’t want to end up picking the wrong paper. Can you recommend good paper from experience and/or paper to stay away from?
There are a lot of brands that are good quality! Look for thicker papers. Wallshoppe, Pottery Barn and Rifle paper co are all great.
Kudos! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Great tutorial! I’m not crafty at all but I’m going to try it :) you making it look easy
You’ve got this!
Can this paper be used on a surface that’s not smooth and flat? I want to apply over wood paneling.
You’ll see the grooves, unfortunately. It does best on smooth surfaces.
Really enjoyed watching the process. Not sure I could tackle it on a wall with so many cuts to do . Lol. Looks great👍
Thank you so much!

You can try, however it might not grip well unless you prep the panel and it will show any grooves in it.
