    Thank you so much, it was a great tutorial! I especially liked that you picked a non flat wall with angles, electrical outlets, window and the decorative wood area. . You showed how to position the wallpaper and cut around everything and the wall area that you needed to start at the bottom instead of the top plus all the other tips. This was definitely a helpful video because of the problem/difficult areas that many of us could face and not know what to do. Looking forward to viewing your other videos.

    Thank you so much, you made it very easy to follow & understand!! It also looks SO much brighter already from the before pic! We have a loft/attic space that looks very much like that. The walls have tiny little bumps all over them (not sure what that is called) so it’s not a candidate for wallpaper but I’m thinking of putting up maybe beadboard or something over it. We had to renovate our bathroom and I really don’t want the mess of removing & installing new drywall up there. It serves as a guest bedroom.

    I’ve hung plenty of traditional wallpaper but never the peel and stick. This was a great tutorial. I typically use a 4-6” broad metal putty knife to trim with - it’s thinner and easier for me to trim around. I do use a plastic smoother though. The other thing I do to keep things looking right is on the right hand side of the windows I draw an additional vertical level line since there is such a small amount at the bottom to use as a guide for the whole piece - yours turned out beautiful though!

    I'm freaking out because I am about to do this for the first time today. Thank you for providing so many useful tips. I would have never considered marking a level line to start with. I would have aligned the first sheet with what I'm sure is an uneven wall and messed up the entire application. Overlapping the sheets and starting with extra on the ceiling are also great tips that I would not have considered. Thank you again for putting this video out into the world. I'm sure it has helped may people.

    Well done. Other videos don't instruct to use a level or a chalk line to set the starting line. One suggestion: verify the starting wall level too. If it's off more than a quarter of an inch it might be best to measure from the point that would be farthest and use that as the start line mark so as to overlap the difference. Also, those outlets are actually called light switches. Lol!

    This is fantastic thank you so much. Can you please explain how you cut little pieces to fit in around the window instead of deceasing a full strip and cutting around the window? I don’t quite understand. I was wallpapering for the first time and as I went around the window, all of a sudden on the other side of the window, it didn’t match up anymore. I was using a full panel over the window and then cutting that part off and then using the panel underneath the window if that makes any sense?

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not quite following your question, I’m sorry! Traditionally if you have to go around an obstacle you use the full panel and cut out where needed. I only added pieces to this section because it was too small to work with a full piece easily.

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My guess is the wall needed prepping. Perhaps it needed to be cleaned? Or, was it over glossy paint? Or you might have a bad batch of paper. Try another roll and see how it sticks.

    Hi. Great tutorial. 👍🏾 Question, did you need to prep the wall for your peel and stick application? Such as sanding or applying a wallpaper primer?

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If your walls have paint in good clean condition, then you don’t have to do anything! Great question. If they are fresh drywall then you’ll want to prime first. If the paint is peeling, I’d patch it, and if the walls are dirty then a quick cleaning would do well! Otherwise walls in good condition don’t need sanding or primer. 😁

      Thank you so much! I actually prefer to do it alone. I find with two people someone is pulling opposite the other and it causes wrinkles or warping in the paper.

    My first wallpaper application video and you nailed it! I’ve only one question! I’m wallpapering the wall at my bathroom vanity. There’s a tall skinny cabinet that stands on the counter and goes 18” short of the ceiling. Do I wallpaper above that first and then go left or right of it? Or start left and work my way right?

      I’d start where you have the ability to see a plumb line. So maybe start to the right of it on the full wall and then fill in above the cabinet to the left.

    Excellent, thanks for posting. I going to give it a go tomorrow but something tells me I'm going to make a sham of it.

      @@GraceInMySpace My parents and GF are still laughing. The wallpaper was a marble pattern. So some of it didn't match up. My mother said you wouldn't notice it unless you looked hard. I think she was trying to spare my feelings lol. I'm happy with it, it went up grand and it looks nice in the bathroom. Thanks for asking..

    Looks gorgeous! Wallpaper has become ridiculously expensive lately, so it pays to know what you are doing. How long did you wait after you painted the trim? Did it mark it at all?

      @GraceInMySpace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I waited 24 hours. I didn’t have any issues! Now if you’re painting a full wall, you shouldn’t install peel and stick over freshly painted walls until they have cured.

    This is the most helpful video. And u used the same wallpaper I bought! How much did u say to overlap the pieces?

    Excellent job. My wife bought some of this stuff and I hate it. One Moe wall and we’re done. Sadly it has the vanity, 6” away on one side, a real pain, lol

      You can do it! It can definitely be tedious.

    What would you recommend for a 1st timer? Peel and stick or traditional. Seems like traditional provide more flexibility for corrections during installation.

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  ปีที่แล้ว

      They both have some wiggle room for error. Peel and stick can peel back to be repositioned. Traditional more slides into place. Either option is doable, and typically whatever you start with is what you will find easiest just because of experience. I’d say find a pattern you like at a price you like and start there!

    Great tutorial! Just wished you could have mentioned the brand of peel and stick wall paper that you were using.

    You make it look so easy! Did you wash your walls with water/alcohol before applying?

    Can this paper be used on a surface that’s not smooth and flat? I want to apply over wood paneling.

      You’ll see the grooves, unfortunately. It does best on smooth surfaces.

    9:15 could you use a small needle to get the air bubble?
