Hello Pixelated Apollo, so I want to buy total war rome 2 on steam to play multiplayer online. Do you know if you can play online on mac or is the community dead or it doesn't work? I have bought total war napoleon on app store and aparrelntly you can't play online. Also will I have to purchase any extras dlcs in order to participate in these epic battles? P.S if anybody else answers it is appreciated
@@PokerGrind02 Playing Total War Rome 2 on Mac OS Catalina natively won't be possible since it's a 32 bit application. It's possible to workaround that with either dual boot or virtualisation, but I wouldn't recommend that because performance will suffer.

Even on this map I think it's worth while as the defender to hold the walls at least some. The pure fact of arrow towers mixed with the low amount of troops needed to bottle up the defenders can cause a lot of early casualties. That's not even mentioning how impactful archers can be when shooting troops on the walls. Athens definitely did it right using a couple troops to hold up the advance Andre the arrow towers do work

Based on the mini map in the first half of the battle i think the attackers tried to sneak attack on the other side of carthage (through the open gate)

I have to strongly disagree that Egyptian infantry is trash. Considering how cheap they are, they have javelins and solid defensive stats. They won't get a ton of kills with their low MA, but they can hold a point well for their price and throw javelin, I find they are a great filler/support unit.

Since you were pointing out how bad egyptian infantry are, that should be your next challenge. Take out an army with nothing but Egyptian infantry with chariots for your general unit.

For the rulings we we using it was 4 missile and 2 pikes plus melee and cav was what we were all going by but that is what we have been doing as rules just to make it fair.
@@loleo6556 Yeah I was in the alpha and beta for that game it died well over a year ago. You did get a free old CA game for playing it. Unfortunately I owned them all already. The game definitely had its problems but I was sad to see it go maybe could have been something. Though at the end wargaming was getting their making their "make this grind as hell so people pay to advance quicker" hands on it more and more.

Uhm, about the part where you ask if you can install rome on mac I am not sure, but google it. Anyway, I can't see why if you manage to install it you can't play online. Comunity is not dead, it is very active. Get the game, but only when it's on sale. Don't spend 40€ on this or whatever the full price is, it's not worth it (and I'm saying this as a big fan of total war franchise). Edit: regarding dlcs, you don't need them to play online, but they will offer you more factions to pick from, and some also provide some extra mini campaigns for you. But like I said, get them only when on sale. If you get the game and all its dlcs when they are full price you will spend like 100€ and it's just not worth it.

Yo I literally played a battle two days ago with Dan. We were attacking and got a ton of kills but our third teammate left early and got completely wiped out so we lost

I think he missed a battle. At the start they were troops at the back pass of Carthage and there is siege tower at the back pass
From what i remember there was a skirmish between Carthage and Masesily at the rear but my Carthage ally took it down quite quickly

Very smart move to cycle troops out, just make sure its done properly and you won't lose troops in the process.

It might your settings and your unit size might be smaller then what it was set for in the battle
Defenders retreating and leaving many units to die. Bad move leaving that many to be slaughtered alone.
