That’s really awesome to see how much they let the fans get on stage and interact with them. I’m sure it must be annoying as shit sometimes but it really means a lot to some people. Lotta respect for how much they play their heart out
Yeah but that's a given in punk or hardcore. And even though there are no rules in punk, there's still THEE Rule that says there is no separation between the band & the fans. The CLASH made that perfectly clear in 1976-77. At that time the "rock bands" like PINK FLOYD, RUSH, LED ZEPELIN, ROLLING STONES... or whoever, were too pretentious & self-absorbed to let some 'dumb fans' stumble around their precious stage & fancy equipment! Nor can those fans sing along on stage & ruin their precious, polished, perfectly composed songs! I think if pop-punk wants to even stay in the peripheral of punkrock writ large, the bands would do well to remember why they play under the auspices of "punk" and not simply "rock-'n'-roll." It gets even more confusing since it's all just rock-'n'-roll at the end of the day. I went to my first real hardcore show in 1986, CIRCLE JERKS at a dive bar in Ann Arbor, MI. I was 14 or 15 yrs, I'm 48 now & still consider myself a hardcore kid, punk rocker. I still go to shows, stage dive, buy CDs & records & especially fanzines! You may very well be my son's age. If I had a son. There's very few 50 year old hardcore kids still around, fortunately there are plenty here in the Detroit area. Everyone swears they'll be going to shows & supporting hardcorepunk for years to come. They're the ones that won't be here in ten years. Us lifer's take punk one show at a time, see where it leads. I'll get off my soapbox now. Too much coffee...

The Dimebag Darrell incident is what really curtailed alot of the fan interaction on stage and created so much separation. You just never know anymore where the batshit crazy one is hiding out at.

Leo Nidas its a hometown type of show. Crowbar is a legendary intimate venue for bands like this. Underoath played a sick ass show on this stage a couple years ago.
