Never had a problem with mine was super happy with it. used for all my videos now after putting away for about 4weeks get out to use and it’s dead flashing red light on all my battery’s won’t turn on. will turn on for about 5 seconds when no battery is installed when it’s just on the charger but then shut off again after about 5 seconds and the only way to make it turn on is the hold the record button not the power button and again will shut off after 5 seconds. Have done all the battery in out reset bull that they make you do. Camera was perfect best camera I ever had and loved it till now. Kinda lost now need a camera for my sport and 360 footage is the way to go but really don’t wanna buy a new insta if it’s not even a year old it dies. Never had the over heating problem but once when it was sitting on the black dash of my boat on its mount going on a hot summers sunny day. But I thought that was my bad and it was a one off time. But now after reading about them more now they have been out a wile now I’m probably one of the lucky ones mine lasted this long trouble free till it died
Thanks. Just fired up my new X3 yesterday. Battery drain and heat is ridiculous! Camera is literally just sitting there not recording and I’m watching the battery drain away by the minute. Was planning on taking it on holiday in a couple of weeks but I’ll do some timed tests and contact Insta360. Unless there is a quick resolution I’ll return it and buy a dji Osmo Action4. Annoyed because I invested a lot of time and effort in researching and watching loads of TH-cam videos on the X3 and sold it to the family as a great camera (our trusty Garmin VIRB finally gave up after years of solid service) I also bought a bunch of accessories for the X3 so that’ll be a waste of money! What are Insta360 playing at??
Hi Thanks for watching my channel In what you have just described to me sounds identical to the issues that id experienced with my old original device. I'll be very honest with you, get straight in contact with insta360 and demand a replacement to be sent to you for next-day delivery and ask them to arrange collection of your old device (this is what I had to do !) Insta360 where very good when it came to customer care though if I'm honest, but you have to be polite but firm with them at the same time, I'm just hoping that insta360 haven't lost that customer care magic now that they have become one of the top leaders in the action camera world and playing amongst the big boys (DJI and GoPro) I also had massive issues with both DJI and GoPro when it came to customer care, with emails constantly going backwards and forwards and effectively with both DJI and GoPro repeating themselves, which months !! This also was the case with phone calls to both DJI and GoPro which amounted to hours of wasted time (just so that you are aware) and issues unsolved with both devices (DJI Action 2 issue was a overheating message in under 6 minutes and the device switching off even thought the device felt relatively cool and Gopro again was overheating in under 8 mins and again turning off, alongside, of constantly corrupting all footage taken on my memory cards) I do hope that insta360 puts things right for you (I'm sure that they will) but this is why I've moved towards the value action cameras, as so far (touch wood) I've had zero overheating issues with the two brands that I've been testing (Surfola SF530 and Akaso Brave 7LE... for my next reviews that are to come) and for a Fraction Of The Cost compared to DJI, GoPro and insta360 . Again thanks for watching, commenting and supporting my channel. Kindest regards Lets Talk Tech
Bought an x3 about 1.5 months ago, didn’t really use it the first 3 weeks, so of course i discovered all the issues I was getting after the 15 day return period was over. My x3 freezes constantly, literally 8/10 times it’ll freeze. Super annoying trying to record anything. It’s a shame, i really wanted this camera to work :/
Hi And thanks for watching Lets Talk Tech and apologies for late reply back (didn't get notification through) I'm sorry to hear about your issues but I'm sure that insta360 customer services will be able to help as you should be having these kind of issues period! Have you tried to update it to the latest firmware release ? Secondly your device will still be in warranty so it will be covered for repair... personally I would push for a brand new replacement or full refund if Insta360 are not prepared to do that. The Guys at Insta360 were great with me and that was way over the 15 day return and replaced my deviced with a new one for the very next day (they arranged to collect mine a week after) Kind regards Lets Talk Tech
Mine didn't work either, had to pay $20 to ship back. Thats crazy to pay for a defective camera. I read the fine print and it says they may charge you a 15% re-stock fee, if that happens I'll be very unhappy and let it be known on TH-cam!
Hi And thanks for watching Lets Talk Tech and apologies for the late reply back as I didn't receive any notification You should not have to pay anything to ship back to them for a defective device and there should not be any re-stocking fee to pay either ! I experienced battery draining issue too. I turned my X3 off with pretty good amount of battery, but the second day the battery can't even turn on my X3. The 2nd time I had it fully charged, at the 2nd day it's dropped to 35% battery.
Hi And thank you for taking the time to watch my channel LETS TALK TECH. @natethedesertmaster8529 Hi, And thanks for watching Lets Talk Tech My original one never turnt off but used to stop recording after 8 mins due to over heating, however the new replacement that was sent to me, just simply never overheated, switched off or stopped recording, even at the 20 minute mark of constant recording @4k 30fps, so a vast improvement from the original camera. None of this makes any sense.. Only 2 things come to mind.. First, the camera is simply defective and needs returned (simple as that) Second option - accessories that arent "Insta360" branded or recommended.. You don't mention it, but are you using a case or skin on the camera? Because if so, they are NOT recommended by Insta360 and the will cause the camera to over heat and that in turn reduces battery life.. PLease keep us up to date.
Hi M Baurer My insta360 x3 has been found to be faulty by insta360 and even tho it's nice to use a silicon case with the x3 (which is made by Fotoleey) which is not recommended by insta360 I agree, but as most of us like to look after our investment in electronic devices it was valid that I'd give it a try ... My next test with now the new insta360 x3 that insta360 have sent me in replacement will be again with the silicone case and also a Aluminum case (when it arrives) Even though I've had issues with my defective device, I've still had loads of fun with it along with a different learning curve compared to my other action cameras such as the GoPro's and alike Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my channel and all comments 'good or bad' are very welcome 🙂

Hi And thank you for watching Lets Talk Tech I'm hearing of a lot of people that are suffering overheating issues lately with their cameras, which is quite concerning if I'm honest, but saying that GoPro's are notorious for over heating, in under 8 minutes (all Hero models) along with other major issues that GoPro simply are not interested in fixing, so this kind of makes the Insta360 device's a small step ahead, so to speak ... And my DJI Action 2 is also way below par to the insta360 cameras with just 8 mins before it overheats, but this to me can be forgiven due to its incredibly small size, hence why it's still my favorite Acton camera. Insta360 customer service is the best that I've ever come across to date, so if you are experiencing issues I would recommend that you fire them a quick email, and I can vouch that they will bend over backwards to get the issue solved as quickly as possible (like they done with me ... And that was before I came alive on TH-cam) Again many thanks for watching my channel Lets Talk Tech
Hi And thanks for watching my channel. Really sorry to hear about your experience, honestly Insta360 were absolutely fantastic with me and to be honest with you, it was the same customer service experience as what Apple offers to their customers (if not a lot better), they rushed me out a brand new device for next day delivery and only after when I received the new device they then arranged to have the faulty one collected via FedEx I take it that you sent it back ? And if you have , I'd strongly and seriously advise that you buy it again but from Amazon and from this seller www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0B9H572LC?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image As they went above and beyond to get a new device out to me fast (and also gave me £48 back as a good will gesture) The new X3 replacement they sent to me is faultless and for some reason it seems a lot quicker and has some kind of difference to it, which I can't quite put my finger onto it yet!! But it's definitely different somehow (like the setting, picture quality etc has been revamped in someway ... Maybe it's newer or latest stock ) Seriously though, it's a great bit of kit and so much fun to record with and then to edit and reframe after. I hope that this was some help to you, as I know first hand what it's like to have something new and my case, just felt like a big disappointment... Give insta360 another chance as I know that you won't regret it and I'm pleased that I didn't just get my cash back as I would be missing a whole load of fun 😉
I got the same issues, I use the Scandisk Extreme micro sd for my insta one X, I got X3 this April and use the same sd card for photo taking a few times, now I use it for recording with the same problems, I also buy another Scandisk Extreme Pro SD card, but still now woking😢
Hi And thank you for watching Lets Talk Tech Did you by any chance, buy the SD card from Amazon? The reason I'm asking is that it's been widely known that some of the Amazon sellers are selling fake brand named, sd cards, such as SanDisk, Samsung and Kingston !!! Even I received a few of these fake sd cards, and this was from a seller that I've used in the past that has been good !. A small suggestion, buy anything like sd cards directly from the manufacturer itself via its own website, as at least then you will know 110% that you are buying a genuine SD card. Again many thanks for watching, commenting and supporting my channel and I hope that, this information might be of some help to you
@Sashzuri Really sorry to hear that you are in your 4th insta360 x3 I'm praying that this second one is going to be ok, as my first one had many issues starting from battery draining issues, overheating issues (but think that was because of the silicone case that I was using) and the insta360 x3 printed logo on the rear of the device being applied wonky !?. If the new replacement insta360 x3 fails then I'll be returning and demanding a full refund, but I'm hoping it won't come to that tbh as they are so much fun and even though the work flow is doubled by reframing is is a whole lot of fun 😊 Let's hope your 4th x3 proves flawless this time around for you Thanks for watching my channel and good luck with your 4th device 👍

@@Razorcrew_Cole Thank you for watching my channel Hands up regarding using a silicone case on something that will output a high amount of heat due to its compact size, as £500 is a small amount to pay for a camera, but the case was applied simply to do a test for another review on accessories for the insta360 x3 but unknowing to myself at the time that I had a faulty device from the start . Admittedly it is common sense but as said the case was applied for test purposes as I know a lot of ppl would want to know about certain accessories such as cases to use for the x3 ... In my update content that will be uploaded tomorrow at some point will state not to use a silicone case Thank you for your comment though and please feel free to correct me again if you spot anything that I've said or suggested is wrong as this review is a first time user review and unfamiliar with 360 devices at this point in time (I'm more experienced with the single lens point and shot cameras/action cameras such as GoPro's, DJI and alike so very new in the world of 360 cameras) Kindest regards
Hi TheBigGoose Adventures Welcome to my channel Let's Talk Tech, That's great news that you device isn't overheating, I'm in talks with Insta360 regarding mine overheating and they have stated in their email to me that it is very rare that they've had issues with overheating with the x3, so again great news :) I think my device is going to be replaced by Insta360, not only due to the overheating issue but also due to the printed Insta360 x3 logo on the rear of the x3 being wonky which according to insta360 is impossible to happen (but clearly has happened to mine) I'll be doing another update soon on what's been decided, so keep your eye open for that Thank you for taking the time to watch this, very much appreciated 👍

Mine failed straight out of the box from brand new. Disappointed I did a TH-cam short on it blue screen of death
Hi
And thanks for watching my channel.
Really sorry to hear about your experience, honestly Insta360 were absolutely fantastic with me and to be honest with you, it was the same customer service experience as what Apple offers to their customers (if not a lot better), they rushed me out a brand new device for next day delivery and only after when I received the new device they then arranged to have the faulty one collected via FedEx
I take it that you sent it back ? And if you have , I'd strongly and seriously advise that you buy it again but from Amazon and from this seller www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0B9H572LC?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image
As they went above and beyond to get a new device out to me fast (and also gave me £48 back as a good will gesture)
The new X3 replacement they sent to me is faultless and for some reason it seems a lot quicker and has some kind of difference to it, which I can't quite put my finger onto it yet!! But it's definitely different somehow (like the setting, picture quality etc has been revamped in someway ... Maybe it's newer or latest stock )
Seriously though, it's a great bit of kit and so much fun to record with and then to edit and reframe after.
Hi
And thank you for watching Lets Talk Tech
Did you by any chance, buy the SD card from Amazon?
The reason I'm asking is that it's been widely known that some of the Amazon sellers are selling fake brand named, sd cards, such as SanDisk, Samsung and Kingston !!!
Even I received a few of these fake sd cards, and this was from a seller that I've used in the past that has been good !.
A small suggestion, buy anything like sd cards directly from the manufacturer itself via its own website, as at least then you will know 110% that you are buying a genuine SD card.
Again many thanks for watching, commenting and supporting my channel and I hope that, this information might be of some help to you
I am on my 4th x3 don't waste your money on it I had the insta360 one x2 it lot better to many problems with x3 to say 🤨🤨
@Sashzuri
Really sorry to hear that you are in your 4th insta360 x3
I'm praying that this second one is going to be ok, as my first one had many issues starting from battery draining issues, overheating issues (but think that was because of the silicone case that I was using) and the insta360 x3 printed logo on the rear of the device being applied wonky !?.
If the new replacement insta360 x3 fails then I'll be returning and demanding a full refund, but I'm hoping it won't come to that tbh as they are so much fun and even though the work flow is doubled by reframing is is a whole lot of fun 😊
Let's hope your 4th x3 proves flawless this time around for you
Thanks for watching my channel and good luck with your 4th device 👍
I’m on my 4th too and tomorrow I’m doing an exchange at Best Buy and getting my 5th. They’re sooo bad!!! It’s so frustrating
Did you return it bud ? Or ? Any update
Hi ljh
Yes I have a update to put up and another update to follow which is in the making😉
I'll give you a little spoiler .. it's good and bad news 🙃
Hope that you enjoy both
Cheers
Don't run a silicone covers/cases on these.. They heat up and fry the cameras, totally common knowledge that this user somehow missed. All user error. I had the One X1, One X2 and now the X3. NEVER an issue. Read the instructions and only use Insta360 branded/Recommended accessories and you'll love this camera more every day!

Thanks for the heads up regarding the silicone cases, and I'm going to shamefully admit that, it does make common sense when you look at it ... I will be using the aluminum cage once it arrives, at least that has plenty of space for the air to circulate around the device.
This guy doesn't understand how battery's work in general or cameras.... Like another comment said Don't put cases on them they overheat common sense. For $500 camera it's amazing $500 is like nothing in the camera world lol I also buy everything from Best buy as a member and it's covered for 2 years no matter what

Thank you for watching my channel
Hands up regarding using a silicone case on something that will output a high amount of heat due to its compact size, as £500 is a small amount to pay for a camera, but the case was applied simply to do a test for another review on accessories for the insta360 x3 but unknowing to myself at the time that I had a faulty device from the start .
Admittedly it is common sense but as said the case was applied for test purposes as I know a lot of ppl would want to know about certain accessories such as cases to use for the x3 ... In my update content that will be uploaded tomorrow at some point will state not to use a silicone case
Thank you for your comment though and please feel free to correct me again if you spot anything that I've said or suggested is wrong as this review is a first time user review and unfamiliar with 360 devices at this point in time (I'm more experienced with the single lens point and shot cameras/action cameras such as GoPro's, DJI and alike so very new in the world of 360 cameras)
Kindest regards
Mine isn’t overheating
Hi TheBigGoose Adventures
Welcome to my channel Let's Talk Tech, That's great news that you device isn't overheating, I'm in talks with Insta360 regarding mine overheating and they have stated in their email to me that it is very rare that they've had issues with overheating with the x3, so again great news :)
I think my device is going to be replaced by Insta360, not only due to the overheating issue but also due to the printed Insta360 x3 logo on the rear of the x3 being wonky which according to insta360 is impossible to happen (but clearly has happened to mine)
I'll be doing another update soon on what's been decided, so keep your eye open for that
Thank you for taking the time to watch this, very much appreciated 👍
@@lets-talk-tech-uk glad they are taking care of you. If you had a GoPro good luck hahaha. I switched to x3 but I love my apple 14pro max for regular video the best especially for nighttime videos
@@biggooseadventures
That's funny that you mentioned about the iphone 14 pro, doing regular recording as that was one of my 'go to' devices (I now use a Google pixel 7 pro for normal video recordings or Oppo Find x5 for photography) I do love iphones but as Apple are very controlling in regards to repair this has made me sway over to the dark side of the Android device platform 🙃
With GoPro it's a love and hate relationship... Love the video quality but hate the overheating issues which is still evident on both Hero 10 and 11 and the amount of footage that I've lost is unbelievable due to the overheating issue that corrupted the memory card in the process ...the insta360 x3 is definitely one of the best and most fun devices that I've ever used and the insta360 editing software is gem to work with .... Can't wait for the release of the insta360 x4
@@lets-talk-tech-uk I have a pixel 6 and 14Pro and. when it comes to video there is no comparison still on any American android devices as apple just smokes andriod when it comes to video. Also, if you decide to render a video on your phone, it is certainly way faster on the Apple versus any android I’ve ever used.. as far as GoPro is concerned, I would never buy another GoPro in my entire life and their customer service department in the Philippines is completely useless
@@lets-talk-tech-uk when you’re ready to get a new phone, I highly recommend getting an Apple 14 pro max or the max version of any Apple generation as I was a long time android user that switched over to iOS. They both have their pros and cons, but I am far happier on iOS after a decade of being on android for many many reasons. your claim that they are controlling his true. However, everything always seems to work for iOS while on androidI I had lots of buggy experiences.
