This movie is so good. Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, and Ian McKellen give it their all, I love the creativity of the rat's city, how clever the Toad's plan is, and the very British humor. It's such an underrated classic.
as a lesbian i usually find most straight couples in films & shows cringey. but roddy & rita i actually like seeing them together. one of the only straight couples that i’m not rolling my eyes at & wishing it was a lesbian couple while watching it
This movie is actually one of my guilty pleasures, when I was a kid I used to quote this movie alot and I actually still find some of the lines and scenes genuinely entertaining but that's just me
Happy you enjoyed this underrated animated film, sadly Flushed Away was the last collaboration that Aardman made with DreamWorks after Chicken Run then Wallace & Gromit.
So underrated this movie. It's very funny and every characters are very well written. The toad is a villain really despicable but effective to bring difficulty to protagonists. The growing relation between Roddy and Rita is great and the story is incredibly fun and awesome to follow.
& both i absolutely loved as a kid. i remember there was a trailer for flushed away on my over the hedge dvd & whenever i watched over the hedge i would always ask my parents to not skip the flushed away preview because i was OBSESSED WITH IT
Yessssss! One of the best animated movies! The film received so many nominations for the BAFTA Award and Critics' Choice Award for Best Animated Feature. It also got 8 nominations at the 34th Annie Awards, winning a leading 5, including Writing in a Feature Production, and Voice Acting in a Feature Production award for Ian McKellen.
If there's a movie that's just as fantastic in my opinion and yet just as underrated, I'd say its ,,Pirates! Band of Misfits". It's made by Aardman so the same folks behind Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run AND Flushed Away. Pirates is just such a criminally underated and fantastic comedy about pirates. I would definetely recommend reacting to it
The reason why it’s CGI instead of Aardman’s usual stop-motion, it’s due to two reasons: 1. Their studio burnt down one year before the film was released 2. The heavy use of water would damage clay models VeRy bAdLy!
It wasn't the studio, that burned down, but actually a storage facility with a lot of clay models and other stuff from their earlier movies, like Close Shave, Chicken Run, Wrong Trousers and etc.
When I was little we got a special box version of this film bundled with plasticine and a guide on how to make the slugs in this film, and I loved the slugs so I was really happy.
I loved this movie so much as a kid I used to get it at my library all the time lol. Every single time I went there with my grandmother lol absolute humorous movie masterpiece 💯❤️!
I remember the McDonald's toys of this movie! If I recall correctly, Rita was a compass and Roddy was a watch (?) Its crazy to think this was made in 2006 because I watched it so many times as a kid!
I don't care what this say this movie is my childhood just like Sherk, Madagascar, Megamind, How to train your dragon etc.... It's what make me love DreamWorks very much ❤❤❤
when i tell u i fucking was obsessed & wanted to see this movie so bad when i was 5 years old that i watched it 3 times in a row the day my dad bought it for me on dvd, like i know for sure i’m not over exaggerating or misremembering that day in my life despite the fact that i’m 22 years old now like omfg this movie was my WHOLE CHILDHOOD
This film was so comforting back from watching it many times as a little kid, such a rememberable story (⭐). "Keep your legs straight! When hitting the water!!" "I kept my legs straight, Spike." 😂
My family had the cd for this movie so I would watch it all the time. I will say it's definitely a movie that doesn't make a lot of sense but I love it personally and will never turn down a watch, interested to see your reaction.
"Millicent Bystander"is a joke I still use to this day. 11:36, Han Solo mouse. 15:52 Reference to "Curse of the Were Rabbit"(by the same director). Jean Reno as Le Frog is hilarious. And Ian Mckellan as the Toad. Also, just realized, its Wolverine vs Magneto once more. The part with the Mime frog acting for the Toad is one of my favourite scenes: "The ruby was a pretty thing..."(pinches other frogs cheek)"....Stop that." "Give it a rest cousin! And get your kids a puppy!" LOL!
Flushed away It's a movie itself that just wants to be hilarious and just entertain. This was the last collaboration between Dreamworks and Aarmand due to failure at the box office.
To say this cast was stacked is an understatement, I mean Hugh freaking Jackman, I never would've guessed that Roddy was Hugh Jackman's character,I mean it's shocking that Hugh Jackman, someone who can play a character as hardcore, emotional and brutal as someone like Wolverine is capable of portraying something so playful, comedic and lighthearted,I mean what a transformation it is 👏
Within the girl’s room, there’s plushies of Alex from Madagascar and the Dragon from Shrek. There’s rabbits from Wallace & Gromit. Roddy even has a Wallace outfit.
I would compare Flushed Away with Disney's The Great Mouse Detective with The Toad similar to Professor Ratigan and Roddy similar to Basil Of Baker Street.
Its one of those movies that I always forget how it ends, and I love watching it every time 😂 been so long since I knew someone else thats seen it that I stopped recommending it to reactors lol
all this time and i never knew that Hugh freaking Jackman was in this movie. also i thought it was kinda funny that tim thought that the slugs were something to be feared.
My strongest memory of this film is watching it at my friend’s sleepover and waking up terrified when the menu screen music came blaring out of the tv. This film is a fever dream on par with Shark Tale
Flushed Away is one of my favorite animated movies and this was the LAST collaboration that Aardman made with Dreamworks after Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit!
Another favorite Aardman film, what I love about it is that while this style is in CG, it still has that claymation texture to this film which is what I still love about Aardman Animation.
funny watching non british TH-camrs react to this movie because shane richie plays a very popular character in a long running british soap. nobody knows him but the brits, haha.
This movie had to be reanimated. It was originally made in the signature Aardman stop motion style but their studio burned down and the footage and models were lost.
Some stop motion movies I would highly recommend are Fantastic Mr. Fox, Wallace and Gromit Curse of the Were-Rabbit, The Boxtrolls, and The Missing Link (which I watched fairly recently).
Just leaving this here - When I was 12 and part of 13, Roddy was my number one crush. I'm not even kidding - I was so in love and obsessed with him, and the movie. 😂 I have a scar on my left knee from when I was chasing after my friend at outside time in middle school, when I was 12, because she was saying "Roddy's ugly" and I was chasing her. My 12-year-old mind focused more on the scenes where he was in that beautiful house than when he was down in the sewer. I literally hated Rita because I wanted Roddy. 😂❤ And anytime she was mean to him, like when she punched him, I would get so mad! There are so many reasons I still think about this movie from time to time. 😊 Oh I'll never forget it! Edit: I even liked saying some of Roddy's quotes, like, "Oh heaven help me" and "That wasn't on the list." - And what's hilarious about that is I would just go around saying that when I saw something I didn't like. I knew it was part of Roddy's quote about seeing something he didn't want to see, but other people didn't know it and I would just go around saying things weren't on the list 😂 Also I remember for a long time thinking "Sarge, wake up" was freaking hilarious.😂
It's fast paced beacuse of the British Humor. They are usually fast paced and one after another. It's more humorous than American style of trying to hang on jokes. British just gives you one after another. The best examples are of Edgar Wright movies called The Cornetto Trilogy. Give it a watch and you would enjoy all the little injokes and funny situations that happens in them.
I love this movie especially Roddy Hugh Jackman n Ritas Kate Winslet relationship glad u enjoyed this. This movie Is everything since childhood beginnin 2 end always tha humor animation n love
in memory of Tina Turner and i suppose you saw the last part when sid finally meets the girl and new pet feline, much to his horror in other details, this animation style is quite ahead of its time reminiscing stop motion before lego movie,, plus, the real reason to switch medium in this final dreamworks aardman collaboration was 2 specific things, 1- water effects would have been a problematic element when implementing clay figures, and 2- they had to experiment cgi medium for the standard cg competition
This movie is so good basically just a different take on the old city mouse verses country mouse story but i liked the arc of the main character and the adventure of the underground city
While this was planned to be clay-mated like Aardman's other works, water can damage the plasticine models they use, and is absolute hell to animate in stop-motion. Losing their main warehouse to an electrical fire probably didn't help either.
This movie is super funny and iconic and I love the animation style because it’s same as Wallace and Gromit and Shawn the sheep 😁 I that Hugh Jackman does Rodney’s voice and I love the slugs singing all different awesome songs and I love Rita as well and villain to ❤️❤️❤️ thanks for your reaction Tim for this amazing movie and can’t wait for the next one 😄😄😁😉😉

Hey 👋 Tim I would recommend it’s totally Cody and NickFlix to watch this movie 🍿 🎥 and they both haven’t seen it before
This movie is so good. Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, and Ian McKellen give it their all, I love the creativity of the rat's city, how clever the Toad's plan is, and the very British humor. It's such an underrated classic.
And I'm so glad that Wolverine and Magento joined a kids movie.
Me too.

DreamWorks gave us two underrated bangers in the same year, Over the Hedge and Flushed Away!
Couldn't agree more, had great fun watching both of them when I was little.
Huh, back in the day those 2 are considered very mid. Funny how some movies are appreciated more as the years passed.
& both i absolutely loved as a kid. i remember there was a trailer for flushed away on my over the hedge dvd & whenever i watched over the hedge i would always ask my parents to not skip the flushed away preview because i was OBSESSED WITH IT

correction, the first reason was because they wanted to experiment CGI for the digital medium competition
They already did that with the short Owzat
It wasn't the studio, that burned down, but actually a storage facility with a lot of clay models and other stuff from their earlier movies, like Close Shave, Chicken Run, Wrong Trousers and etc.
I like the singing Slugs, music and actors for the movie, Nemo and Wolverine ref.
Flushed Away is a wonderful movie. And amazing style for all of the characters.
i love the way stop motion looking characters look in cgi
This movie is so underrated.

This movie’s soundtrack was so good man
I don’t care what anyone says, the animation still holds up today hands down
Yes
I feel so bad, because my first thought was, "why does Tim look like Roddy" I feel bad 😂
I remember the McDonald's toys of this movie! If I recall correctly, Rita was a compass and Roddy was a watch (?)

Yup. I had those two as a kid, especially Sid.
Flushed Away and Dinosaur (2000) are some movies that I always watched as a kid
I watched this movie so much that I can replay it in my head. The biggest movie for me growing up.
I don't care what this say this movie is my childhood just like Sherk, Madagascar, Megamind, How to train your dragon etc.... It's what make me love DreamWorks very much ❤❤❤
Despite this movie having a amazing cast it's still a criminally underrated film and one of my childhood favourites.

Deadpool 3 is coming out this July
