When Flint Lockwood pretends he's allergic to Peanuts with Sam Sparks (as she's allergic to Peanuts) just so she could like him up until he confesses that he isn’t allergic to peanuts, the funny and ironic thing is that Flint Lockwood’s voice actor Bill Hader is actually deathly allergic to Peanuts just like Sam Sparks. It even goes further where Bill Hader was the voice of Mr. Peanut for Planters from 2013-2017.🥜🥜
This is definitely one of my favorites from Sony Pictures Animation. The smooth animation on the food is easily one of the main highlights of the film, especially the scene with the spaghetti tornado. It's also a great directorial debut for the iconic duo, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, where they would later go on to create the 21 Jump Street duology, The Lego Movie, and of course, Into the Spider-Verse!
Indeed, of course, Phil Lord and Chris Miller did had their start through _Clone High_ which currently was revived with a season 2 on Max, before they became a household name through their contributions in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Lego Movie and the 21 Jump Street duology.
Agreed, and the soundtrack is a masterpiece. Especially watching this movie when you’re older and noticing all the symbolism and messages it’s quite amazing.
My husband and I originally didn't want anything to do with this movie when it came out. Thought the idea was too silly. The weekend that the sequel came out, the first was playing on TV as a promo. Nothing else was on, so we gave it a shot. We loved it so much that we immediately looked up movie times to see the sequel the following day (which we also loved)
I actually find this movie very underrated, especially considering I had the book as a little kid and enjoyed how it was represented as well, Plus Flint is quite a likable character in my eyes
Being a lover of all things food, this movie made me incredibly hungry for everything! The Dad's sadness and heartache seriously broke my heart though!
This film proves that Lord and Miller are writing geniuses. There's so many hilarious quotes and gags throughout. Mostly with the giant food, Steve, and Officer Earl. But they also know how to balance it out with just the right amount of heart. The conflict and ultimate resolution between Flint and his father is handled really well, and overall, this movie just has a great message about embracing who you are and supporting your loved ones.
I never get Animat (Electric Dragon) disdain towards this movie and compared this film to "Charles Manson", because literally, this is one of the most creative and funniest animated films released by Sony Pictures Animation, I just love the cartoonish animation style that was utilized, the visual gags and humor and especially how the animators did the animation of the food. It so makes me want to eat all this food shown in the film. I also love the voice cast that was utilized in the film consisting of Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan (RIP), Andy Samberg, Bruce Campbell, Neil Patrick Harris, Benjamin Bratt, Lauren Graham, and Mr. T as Officer Earl. Not to mention it was the launching pad for Phil Lord and Chris Miller who previously had their start on _Clone High_ and would later be responsible for directing, writing, and/or producing the _21 Jump Street_ duology, _The Lego Movie,_ and _Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse._ Looking forward to the 2nd film (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2) and hope you guys will also get to watch the other animated films from Sony Pictures Animation such as The _Hotel Transylvania_ films, _The Mitchell’s vs. the Machines, Open Season_ and _Surf’s Up_ but for the latter two films just watch the first films only and not the direct-to-video sequels.

Animat’s hate for Sony Animation has always been a major turn-off for me with his content. They certainly are not perfect but the way he labels Cloudy and Hotel Transylvania as the worst animation has to offer is objectively wrong. If you like this one, watch the sequel. It takes the whole food phenomenon to another level. Super cute, funny villian, and pretty solid story. All in all, another creative and fun for everyone book to movie adaptation.

Although this movie isn't my favorite childhood movie, when I was young, my younger siblings and I would watch this movie with our Dad all the time and I remember us all laughing hysterically during the movie! Its great seeing the two of you reacting to this movie and thinking its funny too! 😄
Flint may not have been perfect, but considering he found a way to essentially create a nuclear reactor that could reconfigure literal ATOMS to form food from water, I would say he was an absolute genius.

Well,in-universe in one scene of the movie this was mentioned,Flint had created the Outtasighter for that purpose and I think it was said somewhere that Flint's other creation the ratbirds also would deal with the clean up as well,also..

The way Flint starts out talking in simple layman terms until Sam breaks out with her smart talk, and then Flint immediately starts talking in scientific terms. I loved this movie so much, I remember when it came out I used to rewatch this with my younger brother so many times to the point where we can quote a handful of dialogues, and the movie is just so quotable! Our favorite scene would have to be the snowball moment where Flint just went insane (than usual lmao), we laugh at it everytime. The way the plot rolled out was great, I really love how they always tried to throw us off especially towards the end, but eventually the characters still found unconventional ways to solve their problems. And the characters themselves are amazing. Just one of the best animated movies out there. I have nothing but praises and good memories with it. So glad you guys enjoyed it too!
