    I sold my Apollo Twin X and got the RME UCX II. Better converters, better clocking, and better preamps.

      Out of interest: did you get your head around TotalMix? Isn’t that a tough nut to crack? This is holding me back.

      @@TomsdrawingsTotalMix might me more flexible than the Apollo Console but it totally sucks UX-wise. Very good products and company otherwise.

    So may i confirm that I must have Apollo interface for the plugins to work? Thanks

    • @Semyon_Music
      @Semyon_Music  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Now they have some plugins that work without an Apollo, but some still require the Apollo. On their website, they now have a chart showing which plugins can run with/without an Apollo

    Very helpful video, im new to this subject i was wondering if its possible to use 5 xlr unison mics (to record a piano) using this audio interface. Is it possible or i would need to get the x6 version instead?

    • @Semyon_Music
      @Semyon_Music  ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you recoding with 5 different mics at the same time? If so then you need the x8p

  • @simonsmith2642
    @simonsmith2642 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So is this the solution I need, to remove a lot of hardware from our live rig? I play in a duo with an electronic musician, so we can run 2 vocal chains, a guitar amp sim chain, and an analog synth chain, without the live latency woes?

    • @Semyon_Music
      @Semyon_Music  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely can use it in a live setting!

  • @jer7255
    @jer7255 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So if I’m tracking with someone else I should get a x4 ? Instead of the quad?

    • @Semyon_Music
      @Semyon_Music  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends how many things you’re tracking at once. If it’s just 2 mono signals, then the twin is good, if it’s 4 inputs at the same time, then x4 is better

    • @jer7255
      @jer7255 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Semyon_Music is stereo better right? I’m kinda new to this. I want to track me and another artist I’m Stereo

    • @Semyon_Music
      @Semyon_Music  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless there’s a specific reason for stereo, all vocals should be recorded in mono, so 2 channels should be enough for you (one mono channel for you and one mono channel to record the other person)

  • @JawillOwens

    Whats the difference between the UAD Neve Preamp vs the UAD Neve 1073?

    • @Semyon_Music
      @Semyon_Music  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the UAD neve preamp is just a software emulation (with small changes that happen at the hardware level like the impedance of the preamp) of the neve 1073 preamp, trying to emulate the sound of the original 1073 hardware unit. A neve 1073 preamp purchased as a standalone hardware unit is an entirely different preamp.

    • @JawillOwens
      @JawillOwens 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Semyon_Music Gotcha mate! I assumed it was just a 1073 without the EQ section.

    • @Semyon_Music

    You said this is the best? Is this good as the Apogee Symphony Desktop?

    • @Semyon_Music
      @Semyon_Music  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never used the Apogee but the Symphony Desktop only has 2 preamps whereas the Apollo x4 has 4 preamps if you need more I/O

    • @MrBassDouble
      @MrBassDouble 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, Apogee has the best symphony AD/DA converters & +80 db preamps, but if you want more than 2 In/Out & plugins you can get the Apollo X4 is a great interface! :)

    Can you purchase and use without using console, only use with my daw?

    • @Semyon_Music
      @Semyon_Music  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you'll need to download console to get all the drivers. After that, you can use just through your daw if that is a preference

      @@apostolicway2604 If you’re on a Mac, I’d recommend downloading Luna and giving that a test drive. It integrates Console directly within the DAW itself and it’s a mighty fine DAW at that! No more bouncing between whatever DAW you use and Console.

    To be honest I wanted one but I realized how useless and outdated UAD is. Sure the plugins may sound great but with the MacBook M1's out and how PCs have evolved is it still worth the price when it computer with its internal DSP can do 10x more than an Apollo could and when it comes to Plugins Apollo is far from the best and they're expensive. RME UCX ii smokes this thing, it has better latency with USB 2.0, better preamps better, everything!

    • @Semyon_Music
      @Semyon_Music  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The new M1 MacBooks are so good! At the end of the day, music gear is all just personal preference! I'll check out that RME interface to compare 🔥

    looks (and works ) like from 1987
    send it back ...
