Check out this bugling Arizona elk at a mere two steps. The bull almost walk right over Jay Scott on an Arizona Elk Hunt. Subscribe to our TH-cam Channel
Animals understand body language. Just like horses, elk are prey animals and they understand body language. When you stood your ground, that tells the elk you aren't afraid. The first one to walk off loses. Which was the elk in this situation. The best thing you can do is show him you're not a threat by acting like a lower bull. Meaning you move backwards when he walks towards you. You don't want to fight with these guys. The bull saw this as a challenge, he made a move and noticed you still stood your ground. So in his eyes he's like: Hmm, maybe he is stronger and l can't challenge him. So he walked away. If you would've put pressure on him such as by moving forwards, sometimes they'll move away but it's also possible they'll fight. You definitely do not want that. He is a beautiful bull!
he went back to the nearest herd like "you guys will never believe what just happened! a bush just talked to me up in the hills! it was... WILD!" (pun intended. thank you.)
Every man knows the feeling of testosterone. The elk has so much he was drooling for a mother F***** to try him. It's also why more people die from prey animals, then predators. That was a situation... Luck the elk wasn't a bully.
Depends on if the guy was armed. People are allowed to shoot animals in self defense and even a dinky 9mm would penetrate it's skull. Glad it didn't come to that though
Wow that’s exciting happened to me once on my first ever Elk hunt with my Grandpa in Gunnison Colorado 2007 for such a large animal he was very quiet scared the holy shit out of me
My husband and I heard an elk bugling pretty much right next to us last Oct, up(over?) the 260 from Payson. It was nighttime and I really wanted to see him! This vid rocks (a bit nerve wracking, eek!), I'm able to see one doing his thing because of you, so thanks for sharing! :) God bless!
I’m sorry, are you trying to suggest that hiding from a prey animal is too easy? You try it sometime. They’re uncannily good at seeing/smelling/hearing things
@@HH60gPaveHawk lol especially a prey animal that has freaking spikes on its head! and it's obvious the bull knew he was there, he just got distracted by other males calls and the cow nearby
And the award for “understatement of the century” goes to: “he was too close”
I think the bull was more disappointed then scared 😂
He was like, "wtf man, why you pretending to be a cow?!" 😂
me when i see my brother holding cookies: *EARAPE ELK BUGLE*
Hate when they fog up the camera lens
He gave y'all the death stare saying ( boy now I know you not that cow I heard 5 seconds ago )
,
The moment that bull realized he was lied to and tricked 🤣🤣🤣
The 29 dislikes are the folks who shat themselves.

“Want to mate?” Messing with hi dating routine!
Wow, what an amazing beast to be that close too.

When the bull saw the bull had no horns!😂
'Woah... go on!' Elk: 'try me, f***er... I will end your whole career'. That bull is just WAY too closer for admiration, hunting, or comfort XD

He felt threatened and when he saw the hunter, that gave him the indication that he’s being challenged.
That was 100% a challenge. He said "Do something or get the fuck outta here"

@@mojothemigo from that distance that elk would be trampling and goring you before you get on target
This is so awesome!
Puckered up !!
That was awesome BAMF of the day for sure, had to be shaking a little
Sonoran Desert Prepper just a little bit
That interaction would be very different if it were a moose
Bro that’s intimidating when it stares at you with its antlers
Good job !

Very dangerous, that bull could have trampled him. Very unpredictable during the rut....
I can’t even get within 80 yards of an animal in cotw

Omg that's awesome 👍
What did you expect?? You called him to you!! Some people, there's one just born everyday!
Nice video Jay Scott. #ElkHunt #LiveIt #ORGhunt
Heck why not 12"?
Poor guy got catfished
I would legitimately poo my pants
Just educated another bull. To bad for the next guy.
It's all good! Smarter bulls live longer and grow bigger, some seasoned hunter is going to get the bull of the life time
When you stub your toe
That's deadly
WOW👀👀👀
Cool
Don't listen to him. He's full of BULL!

He is an outfitter and scouting before the season.
AMBUSH!!! TRY hunting an animal one on one, meaning, tracking and NOT ambushing!!
Actually he was just scouting the area as when this was filmed it was before the hunting season started :)
