I was able to make it in a regular page. You have to select 'button is click' and 'insert blocks.' Then you drag your blocks into the area. It took me a minute to figure it out too.
Wow, that was fantastically useful! Notion should add that to the own help page (and credit you!) I was actually just trying to look for how to turn an existing database page into a template for the same database (which Notion help says you can't it seems?) Don't spose you have a work around for that (would be perfect for the amazing 3rd party chrome "Save to Notion" extension (check it out if you haven't! Saves (and can clip) any webpage into a notion database with prefilled fields (like a template) or even use a existing template as the base. Can't link the URL in YT comments (get deleted whenever I try). Thanks again! WIll update this with any example use cases I find like you asked at the end of the video!
Thanks for the message! Hmm, unfortunately there’s no one-click way of doing this (which would be very neat), but you can always just ‘move’ any Notion page into a database template which has the same effect. The quickest way is to just copy-paste your page content into a new database template-but if your page content is a bit more complex, you can check out this video for guidance on how to do that ‘move’ page into db template trick here: Notion Hack: How To Turn Multi-Page Setups Into Database Templates th-cam.com/video/aARyU-HyUtw/w-d-xo.html We also have a written tutorial for how to save a page as a database template on our site here: www.landmarklabs.co/insights/how-to-save-a-page-as-a-template-in-notion Hope that helps! :) Gerrard
Hi. I created one Pomodoro with one start action button and another of Stop. I would like to put a shortcut icon to click on these buttons. Did you discover something?
Hey man, thanks for your video. I am trying to follow your workflow. Had a button created inside of a toggle block, added some blocks and made the toggle block synced. Copied that to another page, but now when i click on the button the blocks are created inside of toggle block. Any suggestions? thanks!
Thanks for the tips! Is it possible to create daily tasks using template button but the content behaves something like a database. Something like, i click a button but it creates an entry in a database with date today which my table is filtered to show only today. Then the next day, yesterday's checklists are gone but are actually just filtered away. then I click the button again and creates a new set of checklists. Reason for this is because i don't want to see a long list of checklists and want the previous days to be hidden in view. Would be great if you could advice on this.
Hi Mishael, thanks for the question and sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, if you already have a 'Tasks Database', what you could do is: 1. Create a linked view of your 'Tasks Database' (this is the database with all your tasks); 2. Filter that view to only show Tasks that are due 'Today'; 3. Drag that filtered linked view into a template button: can call it 'Today's Tasks'; 4. Then, whenever you hit the '+ Today's Tasks' button that you've created, you'll get a filtered list of Tasks that only show items due today. Also, whenever you add a new Task to that filtered view, it will automatically be assigned to be due 'Today'. Hope that helps! Gerrard
Thanks for the tips! It would be nice though that you could control where to put the content of the template button and not just having above or below options.
Loving your contents. Please tell me you have a Comprehensive Notion Templating Course in the pipeline for Beginers to Advanced level. :) I'd gladly buy mate.
Well, now that you're mentioning it maybe I should add it to the list of projects :) Nothing in the plans right now, but could potentially pull something together if enough people are interested!
i think template button has been removed :( and cant seem to find a way to do it.
It still exist but only in databases & you must create new database pages with blue NEW button

Yes! I came here looking for a way to do exactly this. Hopefully someday.
Yeah agreed! If anyone knows how to do this please reply here so I find out!
