Smile 2 was a perfect sequel in its respected series. It expanded so much of the first movies ideas it made them bigger and better. I’d recommend a watch if you haven’t seen it.
@@Shugg-Goff-HHoffical Nah Smile 2, I almost went to sleep the first half of the movie cuz it's slow burn af 😂 Until after the 2nd half it started to pick up the pace. Smile 1 was perfect the whole movie
Smile 3 would be difficult to create. There seems to be no way to destroy this trauma demon. Unless Smile 3 is about how and when it all started. That would be more interesting storyline.
Who to say we know the rules of possession? I kind of think the entity possesses one person at a time, and I think the demon latches onto something other than trauma. Rose, Skye, the drug dealer, and the police officer weren't innocent people. I think the demon latched on to their guilt. Rose literally let her mom die. Skye literally was the cause of the crash that killed her boyfriend. The drug dealer was a dealer....etc. Trauma doesn't necessarily destroy a person, but guilt does. In addition, watching someone kill themselves isnt a traumatic ordeal for everyone. the demon really looks in the gateways of its victims, before latching on...hence, the demon telling Rose, "your mind is so inviting", or the demon really looking at skye through her connect before he smiled and smashed his face in. The demon was surfing her mind and saw skye was already mentally weak. I dont think people with strong minds and spirits would be easy for the demon to break. Something has to happen for the demon to enter a person. They have to invite the demon in their mind. Its not trauma. The victim has to already have cracks in their spirit for the demon to enter. The demon exploits their internal guilt from something they've done and held on to. Nobody knew rose let her mom die and nobody knew they reason behind skyes boyfriend's death. The demon latched on to their dirty little secrets and exploited them from the inside. Rose figured this out, but only after the demon defeated her. She realized she needed to comfort her "trauma", face her guilt headon, but she decided to do this as a last resort already accepting defeat. The demon already won. Just like with skye. She was starting to take control...by focusing her mind...but by time she kind of figured it out....the demon already broke her spirit....she accepted defeat when she told the man she breaks everything she touches....etc. the demon won. Thr police officer successfully transfered the curse, he was just super unlucky.
I really feel the next movie should be about a military veteran who experienced a lot of trauma fighting in a war overseas or something, would be an interesting twist on things if the demon was in someone who already had trauma and PTSD and etc
Great video!!! I love theorizing about this movie too, it's so good and gives you a lot to think of. Can't wait for Smile 3! ❤ (exactly like I did with the second movie, waited for it to launch for about 2 years, and the story keeps repeating itself 😅)
I think the natural evolution of the films should be the entity latches on to someone who HAS gotten through their trauma. Someone who has been through the dark, but recieved real help and has made it through the other side. What will it do now that it was s latched to someone who has truly gotten over their trauma? It can still use its tactics, but the visions wont hit the same because its jsut scary, but they aren’t haunted because they got the closure they needed in their life time. I want them to show the audience what it truly means to be over your trauma and be free of the pain that burdens them. And, in turn, finally beat the entity.
I have a theory that the smile demon’s name is Agares, a demon from the Goetia like Valak from the conjuring, his sigil in the Goetia has a smile at the bottom of the sigil.
Three observations: 1. I've not seen either, but it seems like Smile 2 did what Rings tried to do but, from everything I've heard, a lot better. 2. If this thing is Nyarlathotep, then between Smile and Underwater, that's two stealth Lovecraft movies released recently, which is neat. 3. This thing also reminds me of the Look-See. Specifically the idea of being haunted by personified trauma/regret.
Hey Movie Balls Deep have you seen the short film Laura Hasn't Slept it's a Prequel to the first Smile Movie and explains a little more about The Entity
@@ThePilleroflightning joel got destroyed by a car and isnt a protaganist in any of the films, only a supporting character. Either laura, skye, or rose makes sense.
@@kp2ng And Quentin was a supporting role in NOES, Nacy was the main character. Some survivors like Andy Barclay didn't make it into the game either with their respective killers. It doesn't really matter if its a main protagonist, just as long as its a character within universe
Brooo, I love this idea! I would LOVE to see the smile demon in DBD. It could have mechanics similar to Doctor, but unique in its own way. Also, the Mori would be so intense. Better yet, what if a power to it could be using a Mori within a certain distance of other survivors could spread the insanity/infection/disease (whatever you want to call it) and can do somthing like leave them in a broken status for 30/60/90 seconds. Idk, would be a cool mechanic to see an effect for using a mori in the game
A couple of things I noticed: All female protagonists. All accomplished in their career Rose as a psych, Laura as a grad student, and Skye as a pop star. Rose and Skye have, as far as I know, no father. Rose's mother overdosed, Skye's mother exerting control. No clear focus on Robert Talley, Joel, or Lewis Fregoli story or possession.
“What this entity is?” “It could be a demon, person supernatural manifestation or cosmic entity” thank you for making this whole video and still not explain anything😂
This is all good stuff. Great vid. It is a Psychic-Pathogenic Entirium. That lurks in the Id of the Collective Consiousness finding a suseptable host to infect manifest it's self physically.
it’s not trauma. It’s guilt. Those who aren’t innocent, the smile demon uses it to destroy them as Guilt can. If they witness it btw it also passes on.
I actually appreciate that Parker hasn’t revealed much more about the entity because it makes it that much scarier and intriguing. When they go in a reveal the whole entire backstory of the creature in the sequel it spoils everything. Ke
I want them to take the third one in a completely new direction where a group who has to defeat these cosmic beings and has been doing so in the past. They have to go to the beings hellish realm and defeat it somehow. Almost turning it into a cosmic horror adventure movie.
One of the things that’s fascinating is i think skye had less of an ability and support to fight because of being famous. The irony is you’d think she’d be safer with so many eyes on her, but in reality she had less support than even Rose whose whole network was awful
So ... if the smile "demon" confronts the alien from the "alien" franchise .... who would win the fight? 😂 the xenomorph i guess, is evil trough and through
