Great, thanks for this. Your final point, what *should* the amplitude be? Im using a digital function generator which defaults to 5vpp.

It depends on the radio, start low and work up.

Low being..? (the lower limit of my particular generator is 4mvpp)

If 4mv is not low enough put a volume control on the output of your generator.

Nice video...where would you hook this to in an transistor radio...???

So it appears if the local oscillator in a radio is not working, that you can use a signal generator to substitute an oscillator frequency to allow the radio to work again?

what do you have the volume of the radio set at

So, you use the audio generator to simulate a working oscillator? Then If the radio plays when using the audio generator ( acting as the oscillator), the radios oscillator is faulty.

The station that comes the strongest was around 60. The generator is on X10KHz so that is 60X10,000 = 600,000Hz

I just cant get this to work...I want to try it on a Silvertone 2015...can you show me where to connect this up...thanks...

Should be able to connect to the oscillator variable capacitor, that's the smaller one.

I can conrfirm my oscillator is working. However all I hear is the oscillator while tuning through the band. Here's a video of what I'm experiencing: m.th-cam.com/video/AzgGhgffXVI/w-d-xo.html. Any insight is appreciated.
