Thank You. I'm making Reuben sandwiches tonight. So many recipes are too much like Thousand Island dressing. This is a keeper and you earned my subscription. I didn't have shallots on hand, so I used fresh minced onion and a pinch of minced garlic. For the hot sauce I used a smoked chipotle sauce made by Tabasco Co. in the US. This came out great, and I deleted the other Russian dressing recipe I had in my recipe files. Thanks!!

Thank you William! This is a great dressing as well as a great ingredient for other recipes such as my Russian Eggs coming in December or as a spread for Tripleta Sandwich (coming in 2020). Enjoy your weekend! ☺

I just made this using a Gordan Ramsay mayo recipe. 1 egg, 12 oz of peanut oil, 1 tbsp white wine vinegar, 1/2 a squeezed lemon, 1 tsp of Grey Poupon regular dijon mustard, 1/2 tsp of salt and blend with an immersion blender. It literally took a few minutes. Then I used that in this Russia Dressing recipe... I just put the dressing in the fridge, it tasted fantastic prior to chilling! Rueben sandwiches on the menu tonight! Just to add, this is the Russian Dressing I remember as a kid, back in the 60's and 70's.
On Edit: The Shallots, I would use a teaspoon or less, after chilling, the shallots really popped, too much for my taste buds, so I would use less than recommended. Other than that, it was a solid Russian Dressing recipe.
