Love your videos, just finished pouring my driveway for my garage today, myself and a couple buddies. Third concrete job I've done in the last year and your videos helped tremendously. As a DIY type of guy, your a big help keeping me self sufficient and debt free. 🙏😎
I got one of those 2 years ago... nothing but carb problems after about 3 months. It just sits in my shop collecting dust now... also, the blade pitch thing just spins its self flat.... so it needs a little bunji cord. It won't burn a slab.
Hey Mike,I've been eyeballing this machine, thanks for the demo.I think its worth it.I didn't care for the puffs of blue smoke. It's got a one year warranty.
This product is quite interesting. A second unit could allow a small contractor to get more done or reduce the crew size on many jobs. Would a second or third unit change the way you think about finishing slabs or the ROI?
Hey Mike Great video and excellent work. I was curious, do you think you’ll be using this trowel often? It seems like I’ve noticed that a lot of times when people get a new tool they use it a couple times and go back to the old ways. I understand you won’t be using it on 20+ yard wide slabs. Thank you for everything you put on video, the advice, tricks and hacks that work. 👍
Its interesting. Ive seen videos of the australian guys using trowels like that. For some things I think it could be useful, like exterior flatwork, driveways etc. I almost would think of it like a powered fresno. Not gonna get it tight but it will make it smooth, cut minor humps, and probably be easier on tooled joints once it starts getting hard and you dont want to have to keep opening them back up. Not sure that I would use it on floors, I like panning them. Not convinced this would leave it flat or tight enough for my liking. Im also in Arizona so we have to move a little faster, timing is seldom an issue, once the pans get on it you dont really stop troweling until its burnished. I like my big heavy machines, the pans allow us to get on it early enough and I have confidence of flattening the floor.
I worked with a guy in NH that used them on pool decks for stamped concrete. I have no experience using it, I've ran even smaller ones that look like weed wackers but they didn't finish well but used in emergency to save edges.
So that trial is actually intended for epoxy stone flooring it works great for that but as far as finishing concrete it's not the best reason being is it's on the pole and you can't really see the light imperfections way out on the floor like the little pops and whatnot you can't see that sort of stuff and the engines are not reliable at all
When would that be better than a little 24” edger machine? It’s equally portable, but more effective for polishing. Probably same price too. Seems too niche for any job I’ve ever done.
My concern, as an old concrete contractor/finisher, is the possibility, when troweling too early, of later delamination because the water got trapped below the sealed surface.
Yeah I had one years ago the adjusted the throttle by twisting your poles that was pretty good it had its purposes. Yeah I didn't use it the whole lot but it died when one of my guys ran it off the slab It Was a Race slab of her up about 3 ft off the ground he sneezed or something Twisted the pole and his little thing right off the slab I'm laughing now I wasn't then anyways
sorry about I used talk to text and I didn't read it before I sent it. I should know better it said some things I didn't want before and it wasn't good anyways

Great Mike Day quote .. ‘first rule is no rules’ .. I’m glad it worked out looks beautiful love you ✌🏻✌🏻
Thanks so much
Looks like that trowel could save a lot of time. I need to try one for myself.
ive. had a mini power trowel for about 12 years and I love it especially when you get a little behind
Nice video ! Learning something new. Thanks!
Great work Mike!
Thanks!
Sounds like the homeowner has a good contractor! Should be a great, new space.👏🏽👏🏽
Looks like it could serve a purpose. Good addition to the fleet.
Great video!
Great tool for both teaching and learning as well.
It could be, yes.
It's a keeper!
GREAT INFO! need to redo my driveway before the holiday. where to get the trowel? can't find it on Amazon
Watching Mike Days video is like going to tradesman paid course.

Nice addition, saves on the knees and back.🎉
looks like a winner to me

We added a little too much oil. I didn't want to drain it on site. I fixed it when I got back to the shop.
Great video
Pretty cool how they lifted that structure
Yes, the builder did a good job of jacking it.
@@MikeDayConcrete I'm in the concrete underground
Have you ever used The Kipper 11.5 for edges and around pipes?
I haven't, if I had one i'd try it.
re Maine, can you still get the red hot dogs? have someone asking that will be passing through in a few weeks.
I'm pretty sure you can.
Yes I would like to try it out. Also on driveways we broom.
I relly like the Tomahawk tools, been running there soff cut for several years and their generators
I don't see any reason to own this machine. No way this could be only machine on job' Why not have a 24 inch edger trowel

I really like that power troweling
Thank you!

Where did you get the mini float

Awesome, thanks for the insight.
NICE!
I like the way it is keep it
Can you broom finish after using power trowel?
I worked with a guy in NH that used them on pool decks for stamped concrete.
I have no experience using it, I've ran even smaller ones that look like weed wackers but they didn't finish well but used in emergency to save edges.
Im about to pour an area that will be used by horses and want to get the coarsest broom finish possible. What do you recommend?
Anything to save the knees!!!
Can you do a video on your truck and what’s tools you keep with you
I’m a believer in fiber mesh.
young guys getting ripped!
Burning off some of that baby fat! Lol That’s good though, when concrete’s getting hard, you have to get hard with it!
Can you adjust the pitch of the blades?
Yes, it has a hand crank/wheel for easy adjustment up and down.
Thats full throttle?

I talk about that a lot in my videos. We also use air-entrainment in most our pours so that could be another issue to be careful about.
I think i can get the concrete work done but going to have to study the laser levels
Cool

In my 40 yrs experience lighter machines finish earlier
I’ll never understand why you guys always install wire mesh and then walk all over it, making it useless.
That's ok, you don't need to understand.
@ Smart-ass! Keep on cheating your customers😡
I'd like that 30" portable concrete power trowel by Tomahawk,as I will have a small foundation & Garage floor, Liked#64 N Subscribed!!!
Thanks for the sub!
Too light. Too slow. I heard many reasons to not use it. If you weren’t covering the floor would you have used that machine?
Yes we would have used it, without it we would have finished by hand so it did make the job easier.
