Looks and sounds amazing that doesn't it - and I totally agree about "middle weight" nakeds, it's where it's at for fun on the roads - I'd love to see you buy one of those Chopsy and see what the ownership experience is like......go on, do it!!

Is the MV a more expensive Street Triple RS etc or a proper middle ground between the ST and say the Speed 1200rs? I really want a Speed as an upgrade to me Street. But I just have the nagging doubt of ‘is it going to be fun’ …..

    • @Symbrio
      @Symbrio 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

@@philipjames3526 I traded my 2014 Street Triple for this.
Street Triple RS was just too near to my Streety performance wise, and Speed RS was too expensive in insurance and a bit too much.
This is the middle ground. It's very playful and also very capable when you want it to be.
It's not just the looks, it CAN also perform when you want it. Maybe not as accessible to wider audience as Street Triple is, but it can do and be everything Street can.
It's light, revs high, handles great, very playful and pulls like train.
3 years warranty is also encouraging.
I'm fully satisfied with the bike. It's my only bike, but I mostly do Sundays blasts to a lake and back (ca. 300-400km per ride max, often even less) so it's perfect for the job.
I say go for it. 😉

@@Symbrio I’m so conflicted - in fairness, re performance Lamb Chops has done a grand job on stating it’s a step above the 765rs with out the craziness of the bigger hyper nakedness. MV Brutale RR or Speed Triple 1200….

My Brutale RR has been perfectly reliable. 4 years and 8000 miles. Which is far more than I can say for my KTM. I genuinely can’t see me ever selling my MV….
Chops, I recommend getting into the settings and setting a custom set up, then you can have everything dialled up to max aggression (power, quickshifter etc) except you can have the throttle response softer.
If it’s the same as the older set up, try the following, takes extreme throttle sensitivity out of the equation but still allows the downshifter/blipper to work.
    Gas Sensitivity: Normal
    Engine Brake: Sport
    Maximum Torque: Sport
    Engine Response: Slow
    RPM limiter: Sport
Removes snatchyness and makes it a joy. That removes your criticism of the Brutale you rode a couple of years ago. It’s tough though, on a normal length test you don’t really have the time or chance to try these things out.
Personally prefer the look of the Brutale over the Dragster.
Agree that it’s ‘more’ than a middleweight. Makes a street triple feel flat.

Its a pity so many people are put off MV Agusta motorbikes because of perceived reliability issues.Mine has never missed a beat and the Chopsy vid shows they are a gem.I think MV are second only to Honda in terms of sporting achievement so they know how to build a glorious engine. At slow speeds around town just put it in rain mode to avoid a bit of twitch on the throttle and then switch to sport when you are ready to open up the taps.

Loving this, I’ve had my euro 4 2020 F3 800 a few months now and done a trackday and I came from a Panigale v2, I’m in love with the MV, I really am. It’s been years in honesty since I’ve found excuses to just use the bike for any little trip, but the MV is that bike. Reliability obv a worry but I had 4 warranty claims in 18 months on my Ducati, it was honestly silly, and the Ducati warranty was 2 years

    • @pistonburner6448

I really is surprising how a machine can excite like the MV Agusta!! I've owned and driven all kinds of cars, exotic ones included and nothing has come even near to being on the same planet as that bike is in excitement! Even my old model Brutale (2013 model with 2015 electronic updates so identical to 2015 except paint), after years of ownership, did something I didn't think was possible: I just kept being more and more excited with it!? How does that happen? Never before have I had the naturally waning excitement of a new purchase instead be an ever increasing excitement?!
I guess it's because of how much feel you get from riding that bike, and its immediacy and purity of its handling meaning you just learn more and more with it. Then the never-ending awe that engine produces, it never disappointing at all.
Sure, as Lambchop said the brakes aren't perfect:in the previous video)breaker. Even the slightly shuddering and annoying engine being too excited to ride smoothly at low speeds on city streets, especially cobblestones are hilarious to ride on, but even with that I just like how it simply gives the bike more character, makes the ride more exciting.
theorising at home about what to buy next, and can't do anything about my need to go out and ride with all that excitement again...

Great review, and accurate. I own a 2018 Dragster RR: by this model year, MV had fixed the low end fueling issues. Still love my bike, and yes I also own a Moto Guzzi V7 III Special. The MV is just utterly fun. Issues these bikes have: rear brake loses pressure due to brake fluid tank below ABS unit under tail, exhaust flapper servo fails also. The bikes do need maintenance by a qualified tech. Yes, 120 mile range on the bike. MV dealers in the USA are rare. I am thinking about trading for the newer SCS version as my hands are small, and I have some arthritis (been riding since 1967). Well done.

Great review Chopsy! Enjoyable viewing as always. 👍🏻
Looks like you enjoy it as much as I do my 2021 MV Brutale 800 RR SCS! That 800 triple with counter rotating crank is simply a masterpiece. Perfect ownership experience so far and with 3yr warranty AND 2yr breakdown you’re covered.
I’d highly recommend going for the Brutale instead of the Dragster - more agile, better naked riding position and save ££££’s (and better looking IMO).
Two must haves from my experience:
+SCS clutch - it’s incredible, you have to try it and you get launch control :)
+SC Project Ti exhaust - think it sounds good stock… doesn’t begin to compare with one of these fitted.
Got a big deal on mine from MV main dealer, PM for deets. Go on you know you want too!!
Keep the great content coming 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Hey Lamb Chop Rides, I liked the video and your feedbacks.
I'm actually thinking of buying one of these one day... But I'm afraid about the reliability (like you mentioned). During the time you rided it, did you spot any sensible point that can stop someone from buying it ?
    Thank you in advance !

Maybe I've been watching too many of your videos but I 100% agree, love my R1250R but I got a one pony stable. I mostly commute and miss that lighting sport bike acceleration but afraid for my license with a supenaked. So this bike in particular caught my attention recently got the looks and oh they got rid of that old school lcd display

Agree with middle weights being a lot of fun on the street, when your get on in age and get over needing to show off with big litre bikes. Still the street triple RS i think is where the best middle weight bike is at.

@@LambChopRides between the s1000rr and this naked itch, and the fact that the h2 is a handful and despite it being a unique ownership experience, you've barely ridden it, makes me think the h2 will soon be gone. It is special though, I must agree. Truly special. Perhaps a bit too special haha

You know, after owning a 765rs and getting used to the m50 madness, I could never settle for anything but the best brakes. Great brakes are calming 😂 but good to hear MV getting their act together. Those bikes are too pretty and too expensive to be a lousy ownership experience

I couldn't ride that thing without thrashing it just to hear that exhaust sing. My shiver 750 gets revved a lot. I would have to live closer to the twisties to own the dragster or I'd be doing insane speeds in suburbia too much.

MV bikes are a work of art.
Could DB killers in the end can be removed to improve the sound ?
I put a Remus can on a Diavil a few years ago, the sound went from great to stunning, until I got on the autobahn when north of 115mph the air box took over and wailed like a demon, I wonder if it was a deign built in to make the devil bike like it’s namesake.

I’ve had my MV Dragster RR-SCS for about a month now and 1600 miles. The biggest complaint I have is with the rock hard suspension. The TFT dash is not without its faults, you can only pair one phone and the navigation and font size whilst riding is laughable. If your 10 deep in the contacts menu, you have to back all the way out to exit the menu 🤷‍♂️. That said, banging through the gears at 11K, oh boy what a rush!

  • @grumpsrides6074
    @grumpsrides6074 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The MV, is awesome looking and sounds great.
Probably not your mug of rosie, but, BMW R1250R, naked, TFT, electronic suspension, rider modes, Brembo brakes, quick shifter/blipper, etc, etc, aanndd........135bhp, 135nm torque!
I've got the 1200R sport (125bhp/125nm torque), really torquey motor, great in the twisties, handles well, goes well and comfy too!
Very much an unsung hero in my opinion.
Would be interesting to hear your opinions on one?!
    Grumps.

I have one and it is a beast when it comes to road speeds, since other bikes are not yet in their optimal rev range. So yes, you can smoke sport bikes with it, if you are experienced. On the other hand I am no longer satisfied with the electronic suspension, as there is simply no way of adjusting it properly. It always feels like there is not enough rebound in the rear, which makes it kind of wobbly when you don't want it. This causes me to feel disconnected to the bike sometimes, and goes as far as not trusting it.
There were days, where I could get to 40-46 degrees of lean angle. On other days it would skid while leaning without giving it too much throttle, which was kind of terrifying. I have to say that I'm running on Continental Road Attack 3 without the 'GT' emblem. That improved the handling greatly. But the suspension and weight are still an issue. It probably helps you being a better rider, though :D
I'm planning to keep it for road rides, as it is a great long distance bike. But for corner carving, I'm currently looking at the Aprilia RSV4 and the Tuono Factory.

    Hi there Chops!
Next spring I’ll be in the market for a middle weight naked & I’m really thinking about the MV Dragster SCS. However, you recently had a review of the new Street-fighter V2, so my question to you is, which one would you recommend & why? Also, if it was you buying a middle weight naked, which brand & bike would you buy & why? It doesn’t have to be the ones on my radar. Your input is appreciated because I don’t get to test ride them. Here in the US where I live we don’t get to take a new MV for a test ride & the Ducati V2 is not on display, but only for order. Thanks!
