Which are the BEST LIGATURES for saxophone: METAL or LEATHER ones?
I DIVIDED my 3 hour practice session into 3 mini sessions (1 hour each): every hour I played a different LIGATURE. Which hour had the BEST SOUND?

In the first hour, to warm up, I played my Yanagisawa YANY ligature, then the Francois Louis pure brass alto sax XL (both made out of METAL) and in the last hour my LEATHER Rovner dark ligature.
Do different ligatures guarantee a better sound or they do not lead to a significant improvement in tone quality? Which ligatures are the best for you and for your improvement?
