Its very efficient with this 2 pass loading however this operator isn't efficient. Obviously it doesn't take 2 full scoops to load therefore with every load he is creating tons of spillover. So in order to protect truck tires having to spend time cleaning up is very inefficient. For this set up to run smoothly he should only be doing 1 and 1/2 scoops avoiding having all the spill over. Then this would be a smooth efficient operation.

ohhh that is a badass machine. Biggest i've run is a Cat 374d and that 984 even seems it has a faster swing speed, even being around 100,000 pounds heavier. I'd love to dig with that LH984 for a few hours.

What a fun video. Well done, with terrific angles to enjoy watching these big Liebherr 984 excavators. In the first sequence, just two buckets to fill the trucks with overburden; three buckets on the second machine to fill the large-volume dump bodies with lignite coal. I wonder what size bucket was on the first machine: 8, 9, or maybe 10 yards? How about the second machine? Turn the sound up loud, and enjoy the action!! Great video; one of my favorites.

It would be so much more interesting if we knew why they were spending all the fuel they are to move dirt. The carbon footprint here is insanly high, why is it being done.
I did a google search for the name of the company. It's even worse than it looks, "carbon footprint" wise as they're excavating "brown coal" which is particularly dirty coal. It for use in power plants in the EU. This mine, I believe, is in Greece.

This has 2 problems one these trucks are too small for this machine and inefficient. Secondly this operator is highly inefficient instead of spilling half a bucket of material over the side of the trucks making a mess. The operator should just put enough to fill the truck then swing and put the rest in the next truck. This way he can effectively fill trucks without all the wasted energy and movement over filling trucks and having to clean up all the mess.
