The Mamluks are a really underrated nation, I hope more people pay attention to them due to this video! It's sad that they barely have any mission tree though...
I recommend anexing Medina through the missions after you start the war with the Ottomans. This way bot will have more troops that he is not going to delete.
In my last Mamluks game I went bankrupt after a little "rebell-accident" causing high autonomy, changing to Judaism and after that a lot of rebells. But it was a nice play through.
Maybe change the title to HRE style vassal swarm. A lot people including myself thought you were going to become emperor of the HRE. Still a great video and helpful guide though!
Actually, its worth to build workshops in low trade value goods if they give you .20 ducats plus since you can pay them off very fast, delete them late game, and replace them whit soldiers' households giving you profit and extra building slot late game
one quick note.if you plan on no cb’ing byzantium and buying stability after it would make more sense to buy one stability at the very start to get its benefits for the 2 years before declaring and it’s the same cost as being on negative stability so the cost is the same and you get the benefits of being on one stability
Hope the Mamluks receive a fulfilling mission tree and flavour in the next update. For example, the player should be able to choose between three paths through missions and events: a Mamluk path (and receive buffs to the Mamluk government and abilities), an Egyptian path (more like a regular monarchy but with some buffs and maybe the ability to westernize, also Egypt needs to be improved as a formable like they did with Scandinavia) or a Caliphate path (maybe linked to Arabia as a formable, but with something similar to the Holy Horde).
One thing that I like from the mamluks is that you won't get a stab hit when your ruler dies Not only that you can easily get high army tradition by constanly make your ruler a general and pick the next ruler with circasian origin which give you 10% army tradition if I'm not mistaken 🤔
The Mamluks pseudo-election system encourages you to mix it up by switching between circasian and most popular culture (usually Egyptian) by giving specific buttons, like free gold and manpower. The Army tradition is OK, but a very short term thing if you're gonna goto war soon.
A to Z idea for the Mamluks eventually. SInce the Nile is so important for any egyptian civilization, how about conquer at least on province of each of the most important rivers in the world. Yellow, Amazon, Yangtze, Mississippi, Rhine, Danube, Mekong, Ganges, maybe the Niger too. To make it even more thematic maybe you can only expand in a line like a river lol.
Can you imagine if throughout history rulers just made vassals and more vassals and integrated their old ones and went "We're declaring war on the Ottomans to reconquer the rightful land of Syria!"
Quite easy to imagine as such things did happen (though often it would involve the ruler fleeing the initial conquest, and the host restoring his lands in exchange for his allegiance). Happens to this day in a sense (e.g. Russia kept the pro-Russian former president of Ukraine around, I think the West accepted the Persian Shah, and so forth). Of course historically the lines would typically be more blurred. It might be more accurate if vassal loyalty scaled everything: there's a big difference whether you have 100% loyalty or 51% loyalty.
