there are steam monorail trains, one very interesting one is the Listowel and Ballybunion Railway in Ireland where the locomotive has two Boilers balancing either side of the monorail with two seperate funnels that sit either side of an 0-3-0 (3 wheels in the centre) drive gear. that would look awesome in minecraft ngl

Honestly, am all In for the create mod arc of Shalz, this man literally cannot get up from the bed without looking at a picture of a create mod contraption or train.
I fear for his health when aeronautics does a full release, or whenever create does an official update really.

This addon also allows you to disassemble train contraptions using redstone. This means you can load/unload cargo made of blocks on the train automatically (e.g. a crane that picks up a large container made of blocks from the train and deposits it next to the track)
how do you do this? I've been trying to figure this out and I'm not sure how I'm able to do it

@@BananaCoder I thought that only coupled rail cars? My idea is to have a flatbed car that you could then load storage vaults onto for modular and bulk item transport, which would require the train to be physically disassembled.

@@steven.2602 from the changelog 'automatic disassembly and assembly is now possible if a deployer right clicks a station with a wrench in hand'
I like the concept of a "service bogey" that could run on the top of the rails to travel out to a stuck monorail that's hanging underneath the tracks. You could have an elevator or extensible ladder to get from the service car down to the regular car beneath. Very Bioshock Infinite in a way.

As a new yorker, the seprated parts are just like that in real life. You pretty much just grab on to the other cart (theres a handle thingy) and walk across a gap. Works when the trains in motion and stopped.
try using wrench on the train doors :)
What does that do
An upper and lower train on the same track is awesome. And using trains on the wrong tracks looks fantastic
AI art often requires a lot of massaging the prompt, adding words, rephrasing it, running it until you get a result you want. e.g. you might try "steam locomotive hanging under a monorail". Just to let you know that using it as inspo might be possible still!
That's probably a bit short of a prompt (at least, based on working with stable diffusion).
You probably want something more like: best quality, photorealistic picture of ((steam locomotive)) ((hanging) under (monorail)), steampunk, -(bunch of negative modifiers to get rid of)
Then muck about with small tweaks to the priority and seed until you get what you're looking for.

We have one of these hanging monorail trains here in Wuppertal, Germany, called "Schwebebahn", which translates into "Levitating-train".
You can pave on tracks with steam n rails modJust hold a slab of any choice.
And right click on train tracks
(Make sure it is on main hand)
Also right-click again holding slab to change style
If it goes all around, could he do a side ways train

heres an idea for you shalz, a train that uses both the hanging monorails and the regular train tracks using a bogey for each (a train which has a bogey for the hanging monorails and a bogey for regular train tracks)

valkyrian skies and trains arent compatible yet. eureka requires valkyrian skies. people think that eureka is a ship mod, but its valkyrian skies, eureka just adds blocks that utilize the physics from valkyrian skies.

Unfortunately, Create trains don't work with Immersive Portals. I think Shalz tried in a previous video.

There are monorail steam locomotives I think the one you’d most be interested in would be the Lartigue Monorail I feel like it would be something you’d build
In 1877, the USA opened its first monorail. The Bradford & Foster Brook Railway (also known as the Peg Leg) was a roughly 4 miles long monorail that was essentially just a single elevated rail. Their first locomotive was a weird double boiler locomotive that exploded later on, the second locomotive was an 0-2-0 (yes this was real) that exploded on its third or fourth run, ending the railroad once and for all.
At the end of the 1800's, a man named Eben Moody Boynton had the idea of building a monorail that used a single rail below the trains and a stabilizig rail above (which means it technically wasn't a monorail but whatever) and the locomotives looked cool as hell. Cycle No. 1 was an 0-1-2 locomotive with massive driving wheel and double decker cab. How cool is that. Unfortunately his patent never had a breakthrough.

This mod would be top tier with an immersive portals addon. the portal mod that has the nether linked to the overworld seamlessly, rather than a purple portal.
Monorail trains are going to be so cool with the Create Aeronautics (and similar mods) mechanics like magnets

if you want to go with a steam monorail that looks funny-ish and is real, how about the lartigue monorail. its a classic that looks funny, but might be a challenge to get done in minecraft, since it wraps around the track from 3 of the 4 sides and the track is in reality a triangle, spliting the train including passengercars in half. still looks kinda decent i think with stairs on the inside and such.
also a question, but can you place the boogey on the side of the monorailtrack? with a rotor as a counterbalance you could do a lift monorail that, after passing that redstone signal sensor thing that got added in create, rotates back to normal or to the lift decree so it would always be parallel to the ground, even when going up/down
The ability to go between the various train cars like that are gangways and they are so damn cool, now I want to build my own subway in Minecraft

YO STEAM MONORAIL? i got you bro, you unlocked a deep part of my brain thanks to you! so in my favorite childhood game, oddworld, there are these "steam" engine monorail things called feeco trains that feature a face that have an exhaust port i think at the top. It looks a bit weird but you could base a new steam monorail train based off of that?

There are infact monorail steam engines. they were desinged by the french for the sands of Algeria but is now in ireland.. Because ireland keeps getting the weird railsystems... Like the atmosphereic railway that accidentially broke 100 mph before anyone else.
Just for the record monorail just means its a single rail. I think you really mean suspended rail. For instance take a look at the monorail at Disney World, its still on top of the track.
