- Seawattgaming is a very successful Escape Room/Prison creator. While his escapes are very entertaining, they're pretty obviously staged and the maps don't make a whole lot of sense.

And below is another hoper that contains a stack of oak logs
Which I used to power a furnace which a observer detected and gave be 8 cobble to build on to the wall
But instead of taking the fall damage
I used a magic wooden pickaxe that allows me to break the bedrock wall
Which I used for furnace fuel that now gave me leather feather falling boots
Which I then used to walk on the powdered snow
And finally get to the final room
I used my enderpearl from that I had from the start and threw it through the window

I then teleported back through the wall as I obviously had to use the eye of ender on the end portal
I knew what I had to do as soon as I saw the dragon,
Using a stack of cobble I found in another hopper to bridge away from the main island, I found a portal that took me back to the overworld. I had escaped

The guard was not impossible to see using his perspective, because using F5 gave him a whole new perspective.

Never, EVER, put an ender pearl in an escape room. It is pathetically easy to clip through LITERALLY ANYTHING with them.
Couldn't you just double wall or triple wall it?
@@Devil--Protill, there are countless edge cases. Tripling up the walls would mostly prevent clipping outside the map, but not necessarily bypassing puzzles where it's infeasible to triple wall

A triple wall is more effective if you get rid of the middle one. So it's a wall, a gap, then another wall. Maybe even place lava in the middle?
I can't garuntee it'll always work especially if they have multiple pearls but it's one way of hopefully preventing that.

hes the personification of essays where the student didnt know enough to reach the word requirement, so they broke out the thesaurus and carefully wrote everything to use as many words as possible
There is also the fact that they never look around when entering a new room, this is actually one of the prime reasons speedruns are beeing rejected, because it means the player already knows the way

This is why I like Wifies’ escapes more. He sometimes doesn’t finishes puzzles the way they’re intended and you can see him get stuck for long periods of time on certain parts. It just seems much more authentic.

These bad escape rooms are actually great in a way. You see, you've showed us that there's no one solution to these puzzles which makes them behave like an immersive sim door problem.

To be fair, about that guard trap it's kind of impossible to know what to do if it WASN'T told to him. Like I'm pretty sure anyone else would go "oh hello sir" and walk past him as he's not really doing anything to stop you. So you NEED to know how to work around it in order for the guard to actually mean anything in the first place. Also some are pretty sus like the boat and chicken trick which is really oddly specific, but most of these are actual legitimate tricks that could be used on your first try, without all that resource management stuff. but funny video regardless

I’m good friends with seawatt and have helped work on many of his videos including some of these.
As you concluded, yes the videos are staged, for entertainment. He doesn’t try to right deny it being fake, but does for the sake of the video give the perspective as someone being trapped in the prison for the first time. The prisons are original creations mostly made to show fun ways to solve challenges using Minecraft knowledge. We are usually aware of some alternative ways to escape, but I can’t deny you did have a lot of funny ways we hadn’t known before hand. 😅
So from a design perspective they are far from perfect, but we will definitely work towards improving them with the feedback here! Overall I think you video was really well made and pretty funny at parts, but a little too harsh for the sake of it at others.
I tried out one of the prisons you helped work on and I gotta say you definitley know your stuff, so I can see why you might of found the videos a little troll.
I agree, I enjoy Seawatt's videos, they make my day.

Yeah his videos helped me a lot. For example, During the math exam, I only had 15 minutes left before it ended. Luckily, the math nerd sitting beside me had already finished his paper. The last prison was so "impossible" that his friend ( probably who made it, I guess ) couldn't escape.
I have been watching Seawattgamings escape videos to test my minecraft knowledge. I always knew that they are fake but i still watch them so i can pause the video in each room and figure out the most complicated solution to the problem with the given items. Yet the hardest puzzle was when he had to change the version to a snapshot and use a special bug to turn lava into water. But i was still able to guess the solution :) (the snapshot was one of the caves and cliffs part 1 version)

But to be fair, he did find an interesting way of content by revealing not so well known Minecraft facts and integrated it into a prison (or vault) escape trend. i was staying up late at night watching some stuff on my youtube recommended page, then i remembered i haven't tried a special technique. i hit f5 and was able to see from a whole new perspective, which allowed me to see a chest that was cleverly hidden under my bed out of my normal sight. i knew instantly that the only way out of this was to drink from this strange device that had a label on it that said "bleach"
the other day I was cooking and I forgot which ingredients I needed... but fear not, you see I used F5 and that gave me a whole new perspective!
Calls me out for poorly made prisons but the prison he made me breaks on my live stream so we have to skip it XD.. I do make the prisons because I sadly at the start of my TH-cam career didn't have the money to properly pay people to make them for me as I am sure you know a well thought out prison requires a lot of time to make ESPECIALLY one that makes a good video! I am trying to move away from me making them hence why I asked for viewers like you to submit me prisons tbh if yours is good enough I may use it in one of my videos! At the end of my day my channel is a story telling channel that gives the viewer a good time and this prisons came from my Tiktok series and my love of all things puzzles!! Id like to note that kenadian's escape room wasnt bad at all, i tested it with kenadian and it was really good imo. It just broke during your stream and that does not classify it as a poorly made one.

I was just using it to show that it is not easy to make a perfect prison even if you play test things slip by just like a game breaking bug. How to do this kind of content right:
0) get your friend to make an escape room
1) get someone to PLAYTEST the escape room (ideally someone with a lot of MC & cheesing knowledge) (Kenadian? :eyes:)
2) note that you don't want any softlocks in your escape room since that would prevent you from actually doing it without multiple tries. make sure that your friend adds ways to retry sections such as adding a respawn that gives you your items back and resets the room or something.
3) release the map and now people have a cool puzzle map!
4) do a livestream of yourself trying the map, you could try it in an hour like classic escape rooms and make it a "Can I escape this INESCAPABLE minecraft map in ONE HOUR?
5) after that do a walkthrough vid of the map that you can use to showcase all the mechanics even if you didnt get to them, you can act it up if you want, but it should be clear that the livestream was the actual attempt and this is just to show off the map
Now you have an actual quality puzzle map AND a livestream of you actually attempting that map AND the exact same product you have now

I've watched all his videos and yeah they are obviously planned out and what not, but I think what keeps you watching is the not obvious ways of solving the puzzle, but that's what gives it away as he goes in knowing what to do. Still good videos and your video was amazing!!

So today, the police got me, sent me into max security prison! However; I had a new trick up my sleeve. I used F5, You see using F5 gave me a whole new perspective and I saw a box with a C4 bomb, wire cutters, and an improvised pistol that I couldn’t have seen before!
This is great, as a technical mc player this shows just how not complicated things really can be how easy people overthink. Great video though I love just how easy it really is to find another manner of doing the task and the editing is great.
