I think the windshield install is the most anticipated video for your viewers. Might even set a record for TH-cam views.
👍
She sounds beautiful brother. That Holley carb is. A1. Just like the car. BEFORE DURING AND AFTER.
GTO.
He did a wonderful job explaining how the carb works insulation etc
I don't think you realize how funny and entertaining you are. 😃
That Pontiac sure does sound healthy! Good job 👍
I am glad to watch your video because I have exact same carburetor and I was having trouble adjusting it. By watching this video now I know what to do.
Just put the same exact double pumper on mine today works great
this is a very in-depth tutorial for any carb XD
That carb sounds spot on! Keep up the good work
These things always run so good right away
Sounds damn good can’t wait to see you drive it ☝️
Same here! Drive this bad mofo👍 first time hearing it run. Hopefully next video shows a few smokey burnouts!
Sideways please. The first drive will hopefully be sideways with lots of smoke.
Nice throttle response!!! Sounds great
Love carbs. I've even used a carb on previous LS swaps. Carbs are a stock car racers staple. Old Skool! Love the ridiculous GTO build.
Thanks man!
I think you got great carburetor on the goat. Glad Holly sponsored your car and madness. Waiting for the first drive. Thank you for sharing!
I see progress!! Holley for the holey!
Outstanding install on the Brawler Holley Carb! Wow you got the windshield installed very cool. Was it a battle to get it in? Won't be long now till you do a test drive! That will be epic! As always I am looking forward to the next video!
You'll see it soon!
@@PoleBarnGarage I can just see it now,,,big hammer and a few hydraulic ram pushes here and there and that thing will be about as leak proof as the shop roof! Perfectly adjusted like it should be!! LOL
Thanks brother I’m at this point on my build along with a bunch of buttoning up! Kinda got stuck on some oddball stuff…
It sounds very good it's coming together fast stay safe and healthy and warm 👍
Keeping it simple... never wrong...
I'v been thinking of ditching my 800 cfm AVS2 for a brawler , looking forward to see the test drive 🏁🦅
Can you run the pvc and brake booster to the one plug in the back of this carburetor with a t fitting?😢
I’ve always liked the 4150 double pumper but wasn’t always keen on hocking my child at pawn shop more than twice. Thanks I didn’t know they made a more affordable Double Pumper.
Exactly
I have a 496 and a 3/4 - 1 full turn is the area I want I was told ..I have a Holley XP 750
You're killin it man! Great job!
Thanks!
Clear concise information presented in good humor what more could a person want go Dalton
Doing my best, thanks man
I'm tuning the new Edlebrock Double Pumper VRS4150 - Its awesome. working on secondary tip in.
love the car - especially drinker side - lol I think I saw it in a mad max festival video
Man the motor sounds WICKED!! Now I'm not putting down EFI or fuel injection but sometimes less is more.
If I can't fix it with a rock, I'm not interested.
@@PoleBarnGarage Oyeah when in doubt get a bigger hammer out.
Love your show never boring 👍
Thanks!
That SOFTWARE ... So Awesome !
Very high tech, top of the line
Man that thing sounds awesome
I just bought a 68 mustang with the 302. Has the Brawler carb. Previous owner didnt have a hose running from the PCV...However there is a hose running from the Brake Booster to the back of the carb. Question is...Can I install a T and run both the booster and pcv to that rear port?
I like to ask how do you fix a mechanical secondary to work on the street without failing plugs I have the same carb as your showing
Sounds awesome... it makes a man smile.
Nice carb i just picked up the 670 avenger ,bumped it up to 750 cfm secondary vacuum
I just installed a 650 brawler..vac secondary. Very slight adjustments right out of the box...the floats were the farthest off, which seemed weird. Having a Vac gauge is nice for the fine tune.
This particular one is the only brawler I haven't had to mess with floats on, so there must be something to that.
Beutifull build!!! Around how much hp and torque are you running I have a similar build just trying to get an idea thank you in advance
Gas ya! engine go vroom vroom love it👍great video
Progress!!! 👍👍👍 can't wait to see the next video :)
After you said "goodbye Brand X carb," I was hoping you would say "oh, that was close, I'm so glad I didn't hit the car."
On a side note, I think you should get some "warning....warning" stickers to put on the car.
Yes biohazard with a tetanus shot requirement to be within 5' of the vehicle.
Music for my ears 👍
When you added that better carb, you did not have to readjust your timing first before adjusting your mixture screws?
Timing is timing. Spark is delivered at X amount of degrees before TDC regardless of fuel. It was right before, no reason it would change because of a carb
WOW ... sounds great
Love that sound of rage coming outta the 400 poncho
I don't know what got into it, but it's spunky
I put the same carb on my bugeye sprite with a sbc 383ci
Old school adjustments are the best, computers take all the fun and chance of human failure out of the picture, that's no fun hahaha! The motor sounds great!
Greetings from Colombia!!!
Nice! Glad to see you!
Hey, don't forget to hook up the kickdown switch on the turbo 400! Just food for thought.
Thankfully you don't miss anything without it, just click er down a gear
Dalton that Ol' Goat sounds good. Look forward to you and Kyle racing up in MO. It should be an exceptional event of the night. 👍
Never thought I'd be so happy to be publicly embarrassed
@@PoleBarnGarage Takes a lot of courage. But I know your full of it. LoL No pun intended. 👍👍👍
what is that exhaust setup. i think i had an eargasm when you started that puppy. maybe you already covered it but i just saw your channel for the first time while trying to find a good carb option for my chevy 350. car looks great though!!
That's just open manifolds on a Pontiac.
Hey i got a 76 chevy 4x4 with the rochester that is not rebuildable. What carb can i use for it? I do some offroading so want a carb that will work good. Thanks. Love the progress.
Personally I'd go vaccum secondary in any heavy vehicle, and choose a center hung float to prevent starvation with severe changes in angles, like off roading. I am part of the Holley family but.... The quadrajet makes a fantastic off road carb. I'd get it rebuilt or buy one through summit or something
I guess I'll stay with my Carter/Edelbrock. That's why I'm going to be sending you a Demon ( pre holley) .
I've had 2 holleys and they both caught fire after a while, I don't like surprises like that.. just me, maybe I did something wrong. But I can work the other's ok, without fire, on the outside of the engine.
I've never had any issues, but things do happen. Using the good blue bowl gaskets on rebuilds is basically necessary
you got a windshield looking good
Any idea if the old double pumper tuning parts fit the new carbs?
Everything I have laying around fits. Pretty sure it's more or less all the same
Do you have link for intake manifold
Last produced sometime in the 80s probably
Bought a 770 brouler and it's still sputtering, besides adjusting it,.what else can it possibly be. 1960 impala 400 small block V8.
Too much carb, would have came with bigger jets installed. You're going to need to go down on jet size and squirter most likely. Read your plugs and diagnose accordingly
Have a holley double pumper 650 and it keeps spitting out fuel out the top any ideas
Those are vent tubes, floats are out of adjustment or needle and seat is bad.
Is that 650 good for a 350 what about if you have a 454 stop with the 750 brawler be better
Just depends on the cam, compression, flow, etc. Displacement is the least of your concerns. I use a 650 on my 454 no issues
Do you have a 400 in that car? What are the specs? I have a 70 gto, Pontiac 400 with 9.3 CR, mild 068 RAIII cam. Highway gearing. Not getting what I’d like out of my QJet. Would you recommend a 680 vac secondary or a 650 DP? Thanks!
Sounds awesome.
Sounds great
Hey brother, what air filter did you run? I’m shopping them for the same carb. Did you have any issues with the filter interfering with the electric choke or linkage?
It's got a factory air filter housing on it with a little 1"spacer to clear the throttle
I have the Brawler 850. I messed with the front float, no fuel getting into the primary, I am a rookie.help
Needle stuck, or float set too low.
Nice video, good info, got the same carb
How much did you have to use the come along to get it straight enough to put a windshield in
I didn't. You'll see it!
Sounds AWSOME yeeeeaaaa broooootther
Best carb for the holy 🐐
I'm probably gonna be tossing a 850 brawler on the buick 455 stage1 upgrade on carmen electra this winter! Can't wait to destroy more tires!
I love this video jus cause of the comedic references
Thanks for watching 👍
I need some help here guys
I got a 454 stock it only has air gap intake and long tube headers
I also got a 4 speed sm465 and 273 gears wich carb is better a 650 or 750 ??
You need to do some more research if you think cfm is what makes one carb different from another
Was this car used in machine gun testing?
Just bought a 71 firebird with this carb on it and it cranks a lot to get going and you gotta hold throttle for a minute so it will idle or it will shut off. It will load up after cranking too long and bow a flame out carb. Any suggestions?
Sounds like timing to me. Put a light on it and see what you got. If not that, your fast idle probably just needs set a little higher. It's no different than any other Holley carb as far as that operation goes.
@@PoleBarnGarage I have not followed your video yet but I will when I get to the car just was wondering if that’s could be the problem. The timing is set right.
Worst case scenario check the power valve
A windshild I see That video shold be a fun one to watch
Coming soon!
@@PoleBarnGarage Looking Forward to it
Hey brother. There's some nice looking 70 GTO seats on marketplace in Louisiana $400. Just FYI. Lol. Front buckets
That's a steal, I wish I was closer
My eyes are seeing a windshield oh holy goat 🐐
You know what they say, pump it more than twice you’re playin with it. 😀
I see a windshield installed. Getting closer to be on the road!
Yep!
HELL Yea man
You should fit a thick black car cover over the car, with cutouts for the windows (tint them dark).
Drive around with that, like you're hiding some kind of secret prototype.
Imagine their shock at the reveal.
😂😂😂😂the end🏁
Would a 750cfm work on a 9.5 350sbc?
It'll use as much air as it wants, but the 750 is going to come richer out of the box. 650 is fine
Hell yes man!!
nice vid .. love the tool..
Man I’m removing that damn brake booster fitting on my intake it hits the bottom of my double pump making it not seat on the back studs
Can you post a link for this thing wanna swap out a4150 dp
Just search 750 brawler it'll pop up
Mine is spraying gas out the top. I’ve rebuilt it, the needles and seats are fine but it’s still spraying gas
Simple I like it.
Can someone give me the link to this carb.. is this the one for 500 something??
Man that’s F’n cool!
What if my carburetor isn't sending Gas as I'm cranking? Mechanical choke
Electronic fuel pump
Spark is good
is 650 A little small for drag racing?
650 is pretty good for a stock-ish 400 with small valves and 8.5:1. It's not a race car. Just a strong cruiser
Love it
Well if you ever get tired of your day job you can sale Holy carbs..... I'm sold anyways.
Sounds good and healthy. And like everyone else.... Can't wait to see the windshield install.
Take care and thanks for the update.
That's like dream job stuff. They don't push their budget stuff as much as it deserves
This is THE MOST TECHNICAL SHIT IVE EVER SEEN ❤😂😂😂😂😂😂
She sounds like an absolute beast! Sweet 👍 what's that duct tape holding in then? Did we miss something?
Coming soon! I've been very busy on it, needed to drop something out quick for you guys
@@PoleBarnGarage You've definitely been busy if you got that to fit, say no more 😱 don't think anyone else noticed ?
I left it in on purpose, figured the real ones would see it
Looks like you have a new windshield in place too. Did you get this car in fall 2021 ? If so you’ve done a lot of work this winter......I helped out by buying a tee shirt
I sure did, you can follow the whole build!
Was that the first start?
Yessir
After filling the fuel bowls and giving it a couple pumps of course
I’d rename the video like “first start” or “will it start”, holey goat first start! Will it run after shot with lead!
We've seen it run before
@@PoleBarnGarage I get that you put a running engine in the car but that is the first time the car went vroom in like forever!
I’ve never used a brawler but I will now
Tell Holley I sent you!
Again im anxiously waiting on seeing this holy grail roaring down the road. Did i not hear correctly but did you not say like 3 episodes ago that your next upload will be driving her around doing burnouts....?
This isn't really an episode, I've been busting my ass on the car and not keeping up with my editing for the last week or so. Wanted to drop something out just to show it's getting worked on. This isn't Discovery channel lol
@@PoleBarnGarage its all good in my books. Just a little ball busting and having some fun doing it...sorry for my nut cracking. Lol. Trying to think of a comment to help your chanel make you money.
Hey so I have a question for everyone in the comments, I have a 383 stroker with a 770 holly brawler carb. Now I don't know anything about how to adjust the timing on the block or adjusting the carb. I'm already 28k in the hole going from mechanic to mechanic on this and still having issues with the engine running at an idle. Could this be that maybe the timing is incorrect or maybe it's just not getting enough gas and would adjusting the 770 be the same as your 650 carb? I'm just getting tired of spending more and more money and and hoping I can do this myself. Hopefully yall can help me
Buddy if you spent 28k on a small block Chevy you've got some issues on your hands. Adjusting timing is the same procedure as a stock engine, but there's so many factors you're going to have a hard time figuring it out via internet
@@PoleBarnGarage well that also includes buying all new parts for the car and the car itself. So far have had 3 different mechanics work on it. Sorry if I made it seem like it was only for the engine lol
Pretty much any carb is going to run out of the box halfway decent, especially on a generic small block. You didn't mention what yourb issues are, what your ignition system is, compression, or what cam. All 3 will radically change what you could be looking at. Check ignition timing initial, and total, (12 btdc for starters, 30ish total if using a modern head) vacuum leaks, valve lash, dynamic compression test, fuel pressure, incorrect pushrod length, cam timing, in that order.
All basic tests you can do without any special tools aside from feeler gauges, dial back timing light, and compression tester
A simple Google search will tell you exactly how to do any of these.
Lastly, lose the useless mechanics who can't figure out the most common v8 ever produced.
Can i buy that car?
Warning, warning, been using a paint cap for a long time too, Idea , I had a door would not close and put a slide bolt on the inside. ps love my tee shirt.
That's great to hear!
