This is why I’m convinced that Universal salvation is true - If I’m going to heaven but you’re not then it’s not heaven - how could anyone be in heaven and enjoy it if they knew that other people are suffering in hell? And even taking pope John Paul statement that Heaven and Hell are states of consciousness- I think that for an enlightened/saved/born again/ whatever person someone who’s discovered a higher level of consciousness - There has to be at least some degree of unease and disquiet even while we enjoy the awesomeness of this world because we know that there are people who are suffering to one degree or another and are not enjoying what we are And so the reality is that one is not truly free until everybody’s free my liberation is tied up with your liberation our fortunes are bound up together. But the resurrection to me means that ultimately salvation is really a question of when and not if. I had a dream where I was at the gates of heaven and I was watching God and Peter talked to someone who was coming in and supposedly they were condemned to hell and so they opened like a manhole and I could feel the heat and then they said down you go and the person was hesitating but then all of a sudden Jesus runs up and stands next to the guy and says OK you ready let’s go And the guys like confused and says what are you talking about I’m going to hell. And then Jesus says yeah I know I’m going with you and the guy was shocked and then all of a sudden hell disappeared and there was no more hell. It was a while after I had that dream that I read a thing by cardinal Ratzinger Before he was pope Benedict where he said that if Christ descended to hell like the apostles creed size than hell doesn’t exist anymore because Christ and hell cannot coexist so if Christ descended to hell then he destroyed hell And now I’m totally rambling lol. Be blessed everyone. All the love.

But I have to say that in the end I would agree with what Richard Rohr has said where gods perfection is precisely the ability to include imperfection and for that reason there’s no need for either reincarnation nor purgatory. And I think it’s because we have this quid pro quo capitalist mentality in our DNA somehow people have to pay for their sins you can’t just forgive people. You can’t just wipe the slate clean even though that’s what Paul says in Colossians that Christ took the legal code and all of the accusations that were against us and nailed it to the Cross And also Jesus says to the penitent thief today would be with me in paradise. I’ll just rest right there. All the love to everybody. Blessings.

No. No one knows and can ever know. Therefore the question is meaningless. The moral and rational thing to do is to live a moral life, so whether I live or wether I die I am in Christ. I don’t have a soul, I am a soul. Ten thousand lifetimes is nothing in eternity.

Ultimately, both belief and disbelief in reincarnation have positive and negative implications.
Belief could lead to doing one's best to live a holy life to avoid reincarnation; or knowing we get another chance (rebirth) we don't worry about living a righteous life.
Disbelief in reincarnation could lead to doing one's best to live a holy life since we only get 1 chance; or we indulge in worldly pleasures.
Isn't living a holy, righteous life the whole point of a spiritual life? And therefore, does it really make a significant difference which way we believe?

this is a beautiful idea, that reincarnation as a theory is made unnecessary in the face of the One-nature of Christ in us. it seems, however, a little black and white. We experience individuality on our path to becoming love. Why should that be an unrepeatable case?
The idea of retaining some of that separateness until love has been learned would add the rainbow between this black and white. The concept of reincarnation in no way excludes taking on the suffering of the whole of humanity. Both the Mahayana and Western teachers such as Rudolf Steiner emphasise that the Way to Freedom includes becoming like Christ in taking on such as the Bodhisattva Vow: To continue my work, in whatever way I am called until all conscious beings have achieved freedom.

Reincarnation is a fact and is backed by scientific evidence (Dr. Ian Stevenson). Also, when one practices centering prayer or experiences awakening, one reaches a deeper level of the unconscious where past lives are revealed. It is necessary to know the truth of reincarnation and one's past lives, in order to understand this life and the person one is now and the causes that went into the development of the personal Soul aspect. It's surprising that Christians miss this important teaching due to the Church pronouncing the belief in reincarnation anathema...which is nonsense. Jesus himself taught reincarnation when he said "you must be born again and again to enter the Kingdom". And in other place Jesus asks his disciples "who is it that you say that I am?" One replies "thou art Elijah returned from the dead" and another "you are John the Baptist". Jesus and the people of his time were aware of the truth of reincarnation. It's a shame that the Church pronounced a core Truth Anathema.

Not sure where he says we have to be born again and again. I’m all for keeping an open mind about reincarnation but you can’t twist scripture to prove your point. That’s just as bad as fundamentalist proof texting.

  • @patrickbeldio6680
    @patrickbeldio6680 ปีที่แล้ว

Unfortunately he does not engage with any sacred text or any specific illumined teacher that explains in more detail a theory of rebirth and karma. The conclusion here is that Fr. Keating is a Christian and finds the Christian belief more compelling than any other. Not a very interesting argument.

Beliefs and doctrine cannot be established as absolute truth by any other thoughts or text than the Bible. The Bible is the only one true foundation and source for faith. God (Jesus Christ) became flesh and dwelt among us. Suffered and died and rose completely in the flesh so man human beings could become born again. He died for all sins but sins can only be forgiven as we ask Him to one a personal one on one basis. We have to establish that personal one on one divine Union with Him discipled by the Holy Spirit and The infallible Word of God. Jesus talked of hell. He said it is unending torment and a real place where the flames and worms die not. There are different compartments to hell. The part he visited was called Abraham’s Bosom where those whom God deemed righteous were held until Christ could save them. He led captivity captive (those in Abraham’s bosom He brought to heaven) and led a train of vanquished foes to hell. It says He took the keys of he’ll death and the grave from Satan that Satan stole from Adam. Adam committed high treason against God that’s why we need our Redeemer. He paid the price to by us back from hell with His very life. He didn’t abolish it. The Bible says man is appointed once to die and then judgement (Hebrews 9) no such thing as reincarnation. We don’t get a do over. The Bible was stating the anointing of Elijah would be upon John the Baptist not a reincarnation. In Jesus’ day their were mainly 2 sectors of Jews those that believe in the resurrection of the body and those that did not. Read the Gospel of John if you have not read the Bible and study it with a biblical authority like Chuck Missler. Heaven and hell are a real place not a state of consciousness. We are warned not to add to the Bible or remove parts of it. Jesus said if you have seen Me you have seen the Father. “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word is God…” John 1:1

Christ always was and always will be. Christ is thought to be billions of years "old".
Jesus appeared on earth 2000 years ago.
Why do you speak of Christ.
It is not the surname of Jesus.

  • @luisgomes8226

What did Christ say about it? Why not concentrate on the Bible and the answers it presents. After all it is suppose to be the word of God, at least for Christians! And if it is the word of God, and you are a Christian, it must be the answer you believe. All these theories are man made conceptions. In Christianity there is an historic revelation, and the answer is given from the outside of space and time, by God to us. You either believe it or not. It is not a theory it is a message or revelation to us and it has definite consequences for our eternal destination. May God have mercy on us all
