if they arent made by ingeneer you are just gonna expect a crash these plane concept u saw in that video are made by proffesional aircraft designer/ingeneers
major problem with vertical take off is the aircraft being caught in a reciprocating votrex which actually is caused from the downward air pressure making it back up above and into the intake system. That problem is very serious, usually happens around vertical structures like walls, valleys. harsh side way wind gust can cause instabilities of these levitating devices.
I think the A380 has proven that sticking a thousand people into a plane is not the way to go. Smaller versions of blended wing designs are the way to go and having seats with windows that look forward would be awesome!
Full self flying would be a lot easier than self driving. Without pedestrians, dogs, rubbish trucks, potholes, cyclists etc it would be much easier to build the software. Avoiding other flying objects would be easy, as they would all have to have transponders. By limiting when and how they land you could reduce the dangers of being close to earth. Compared to trying to navigate a suburban neighbourhood it would be a breeze!
You say that but how often do you see a car broken down on the side of the road? Quite a bit, right? Now imagine that car breaking down way up in the sky, bud.
Loved that one line about being based on birds in flight. last i checked....ALL aircraft happen to be based off of birds in flight. Just felt like the dumbest thing to say
Excellent video, I go for that which is the safest to ride & that which can get me to My destination the fastest, thanks for sharing, God bless & more success for us! Alleluia! Amen!
WOW!!!! All of these airplanes are impressive, especially The Alice Commuter (7) and The Sky Whale (6)! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It's exciting to see that some of these aircrafts will be available in our lifetime! 👍🏻 I look forward to seeing more of your videos! You just earned a new subscriber! 🙂 Also, you may want to consider changing the name of your channel to "Top 15"! Just a suggestion! 😉
As you have observed, how effectively the micro-steam rises vertically to the sky and forms clouds, which move (float and move) through modules of different cloud configurations. However, there are many ways to land, including rainfall (vertical landing) and so on. It's exciting to learn, forget, and relearn for our impromptu VTOL, but don't replicate nature as a good example of how we develop different ways of flying different from birds. Kudos!
Concorde is such a beautiful plane design. The Russians bit off Concorde's styling and made their own similar looking version that fizzled & went out with a whimper. The passengers riding on the electric Alice Commuter should be obligated to operate onboard exercise bikes or treadmills. This would provide renewed meaning to the adage *_Run or die_*
I see this video was uploaded 3 years ago, but having watched it, it seems older than 3 years. I mean, the predicted introduction of some of these concepts has already passed.
Just so you are aware VTOL does not stand for "vertical take off on launch" lol... the correct words are "vertical take-off and landing". If you don't even know that, then it does not bode well for how much you understand anything you are discussing in this video.
True, I just wonder though. If that's what Aston Martin are calling it in their press release, if that's where the researcher got the information from. So we don't know if the channel just made that up, or it's the actual Aston Martin abbreviation.
And it will only take you 7 short years to learn to fly these fab flights of marvel. Of course we will all be at the party because we just drove a regular old car but you get those 7 years of training done and your up in the air.
We are now in an era when any human is able to have instant access to almost all the information in the world. As of flying cars, this is an absolutely idiotic idea.
@владимир захаренков. Yes, and while some of these plane concepts look amazing, almost all of them look like they’d be incapable to fly. And I wouldn’t trust a fully autonomous car to fly me around to anywhere I need to go. I feel more comfortable putting my trust in people trained to fly than putting it in some weird autonomous flying car concept.
2024 here. How many of these made it? All but two of these were supposed to be in production by now and I haven't seen or heard of a single one reaching production yet.
teleportation is impossible as i heard because it would means transporting at mega high speed your atoms without just changing a single thing so what you expect is just being desintegrated after your teleportation
My passengers transfer flight destinations at 43k feet ..🐦. sometimes some passengers🎁 have to jog back quickly through the pressure tunnel case to grab their bottle of cheer 🤸🏼
2:32 "And do away with the idea of a vertical tail entirely, instead they turn and bank". Huh. You mean just how aviation did for the last century? 'kay then. Someone been skipping basic flight class.
@Griffin Engle Sure, but most people know also that when an aircraft is tilting, it's to initiate a turn, and not for starting a barrel roll. In that case, lateral stability is guaranteed by his swept wing and variable twist of the wing. I don't like when they oversimplified a smart design.
The Flying-V is actually a project from the TU-Delft, a university in the dutch city Delft. They worked together with KLM for (probably) finance support.
Actually it was the French Government NOT requiring Air France to reinforce the under fuselage due to a previous fire on Concord, due to runway debris, apparently PARTS 'sometimes' fall off I forget which, but I know that NO lives were lost) were ALLOWED to blow off the safety mod due to cost, The plane has been a money lover for ages, BUT a prestige platform.
Cargo carriage using helium filled balloons type airships are not covered here. It has been shown that when speed is not important that the operational cost and fuel consumption of these kinds of vehicles are much reduced and make them worthwhile. They seem to be much more feasible compared to the 15 types shown here.
Airbus is developing remot controlled Helicopter in this clip. Kaman have build K-Max and earlier helicopters for more than 30 years ago that was remot controlled.
My whole life I've been seeing cool CGI of pie in the sky concepts and a rare physical prototype that never goes into regular use.
But how about that acronym, eh?
if they arent made by ingeneer you are just gonna expect a crash these plane concept u saw in that video are made by proffesional aircraft designer/ingeneers
VTOL = vertical take off and landing. Not vertical takeoff on launch.
Smert
I heard that too LOL
Cannot believe how far we have come! Can't wait!

Hybrid of plane and blimp, turbine engines recessed inside, heat of engine exhaust utilized as part of lift
Already amazed. But go ahead and amaze me some more. hahaahaahaahaha Can anyone EVER have enough amazement ???????????????????????
@6:38, Airbus DOESN'T just make planes.
I think the A380 has proven that sticking a thousand people into a plane is not the way to go. Smaller versions of blended wing designs are the way to go and having seats with windows that look forward would be awesome!
They look cool
Wow im early the last time i was this early there were still prop planes
They still have prop planes...
This is amasing
Looking good!!
ITS THUNDERBIRD 2 !!😶
Go nice designs
Totally awesome! 👍

The blended wing body configuration was invented decades ago by Liebeck and continued by Boeing

Airbus have been on about that configuration since the mid 90s, been promising soon since then.
Excellent video, I go for that which is the safest to ride & that which can get me to My destination the fastest, thanks for sharing, God bless & more success for us! Alleluia! Amen!
Hey the first one pretty cool!
Terrafugia sounds like a crazy Chinese spy scheme. 😂
Some of these designs were probably published in scientific American magazine in early 2000s, they are still not in production
Great like car ,automotive, rocket , launch pad , Airport designer and engineer like me.
(1:46) Thrust is not measured in lb.-ft. Torque is measured in lb.-ft.
In stones per gallon, you mean.
We need more blended wing bodys!

Error correction - at 14:50 - VTOL stands for Vertical Take Off Landing - not - Vertical Takeoff On Launch.
8:39 most of us haven't been in a double decker plane😭
The title of this video should be "Things that were Delayed"
I think everything on earth could be labelled similarly at the moment

Great Idea to all Designers to have more Awesome planes

Where to put 2 engines forward for take off with 2 engines iso tail where combination of jet eng and prop engines can be retractable!
What exactly is pound-feet of thrust? Thrust is in pounds or Newtons, But torque is foot-pounds. So at what RPM is the peak torque?
Credibles design all planes more Unique attractive to people's flying around the Worlds thanks beautiful Videos
6:28 "be sure to subscribe to top fives"
Me: its Top 15's
People are going to have to get a hell of a lot smarter for any of these hybrid auto/plane contraptions to become a reality for the masses.

0:10 “The top 10” and then a couple seconds later proceeds to start the list with number 15.

I love science and technoligy
It’s Vertical Takeoff Or Landing no vertical takeoff on launch
its the same
XPECTED my bad didn’t know but still think it’s vertical takeoff or landing maybe I’m wrong correct me if I am
They also said in the 1980’s that we’d have flying cars in 2017. Look where we are now. We could still be waiting 50 years for this stuff.
We are now in an era when any human is able to have instant access to almost all the information in the world. As of flying cars, this is an absolutely idiotic idea.

VTOL stands for Vertical Take-Off and Landing, not vertical take-off on launch. Come-on.
They go on about what an awesome weapon the replacement for the t-38 Talon will be. Don't they know that the t-38 is a TRAINING aircraft?
Practically no research went into the development of this video.
The t-7 red hawk is supposed to be a trainer not a fighter
Is this simple histories second account?

The Concorde flew for four decades and would still be in operation but for the French not checking the runway for debris, as contracted to do.
French have also been paid to stop refugees coming across the Channel in small boats, but instead, they escort them.
