Oh, had to hit this one. Another dumb argument that flerfs.... I mean, christians (same thing), make. Plato's writings prove the existence of Plato, therefore, the bible exists therefore god exists. No, sorry, that's stupid. You can say that Paul existed if you like since we have the writings of Paul. Or Matthew. Or Moses. Or lots of individuals who wrote many books. Men wrote the bible. The jump in logic that says it's the word of god is where the evidence stops. A bunch of books written by a bunch of men who may "claim" there is a god IS NOT EVIDENCE OF GOD, anymore than viking books prove the existence of Odin! So, yes, the bible is NOT evidence of god.

Got any actual evidence for god like being? After that evidence, provide evidence that it's the god that you believe in with your religion. After that provide evidence that this god inspired or did anything on earth that your scripture says.
That's a lot of burden of proofs for you. I and other atheist will be waiting for your evidence.
God is mean, have you read bible or Tora or Qur'an? God is genocidal, tyrannical dictator. It's either god's way or death and eternal torture in hell. If you were honest, you would say you don't believe in any of those religions gods, but that you have made up your own version of god. Would be better if you would write your own scriptures about the god you believe in. Would be interesting to see how far or close your view on god is to those of Bible, Tora and Qur'an.

It's no way to maintain order in society if one person's good, is another person's bad, right? That would spark much conflict, I'd think. A common rule that we all follow, or at least I'd hope so, we don't steal from other people. Seems quite objective to me. Subjectively, I might need something of theirs, and in my *subjective* mindset, I find that I need it *more* than they do. Laws are objective, they don't change on a whim, or differ from person to person, laws aren't ruled by emotion. I'm not sure if this will make sense, but anyways..

But then, why did the person steal? Were they hungry and poor? Desperate? So much questions. It doesnt make it objective because people majorly agree with it. For it to be objective, it must not rely on human emotions, but proven externally.
"Laws are objective" They are not. Subjectivity does not imply a fickle mind. And laws are ruled by a degree of emotions. Why is it not ok to abuse animals? Because we think its cruel. Why do we not condone murder. Because people will suffer and fear for their lives. Both are ruled by emotions, whether by moral conscience, or survival instincts.
The fruits of atheism are nihilism, immorality, depression, existential dread, futility, hedonism etc. The Amazing Atheist is a perfect embodiment of all these fruits. I used to watch him as well as a teenager, in my agnostic/semi-Christian phase but I never went full atheist. Thank God for that. 🙏
You are absolutely right, as well as Kyle. People would always reject what atheism leads to but they are living examples of that statement. When i was an atheist, i truly hated my life, nothing had a meaning, but now I am a lot better and I believe the Holy spirit is working in me. We all have a long road to travel, but God is with us. Japan attacked us and we gave them another sun. That wasn’t due to religion. Mao killed 40 million in famines, khan killed 30 million in wars over land expansion, Stalin killed 10 million for power. None of those were due to religion so quit with your argument “god bad and no real because bad thing happen.”

Here's something that easily explains why suffering and a good God can exist simultaneously:
It's not that God caused our suffering, the Truth is that we caused our suffering collectively. What we do that causes others to suffer is sin towards others (although sin can also be misused pleasure, a lack of something important, or just the absence of good IE evil). What we do to ourselves is sin against ourselves (like pride, despair, impatience, over worrying, over thinking, etc) I overthink all the time, and I need to be more simple. Please pray for me.
I love how most militant atheists complain about suffering all day... Yet do nothing about it. And most of the time they donate purely out of spite to be "BeTtEr tHeN tHeIsTs".

I like him too but I'm assuming it boiled down to Sola Scriptura > Idolatry > Spooky ritual. Protestants only have one foundation for their objections: Authority from scripture. All of their objections fall flat when you simply point out they have no scripture, creed, or authority without church tradition. As an ex non-dem protestant I can tell you it's just a matter of humility

Morality can 100% be proven through science and is one of the main reasons our species has been able to grow to the vast numbers we see today. I am curious to hear your take on why you believe in the christian god and not one of the many other gods created throughout history. Saying the bible is evidence for god is exactly the same as saying the Lord of the Rings is evidence of Middle Earth. Also saying that the biblical god is kind of a prick is not admitting it is real, only that the bible portrays it as a villain with its monstrous army of angels.

I am an atheist and was very Nihilistic. About 6 Months ago I watched a videos about Nietzsche, then read some of his Philosophies (this did not help at all lol). After that I pondered death and why we are all here. Generally to an atheist, or a least the ones I know, there is nothing after death. To me I couldn't understand that. How do you perceive "nothing"? Then I thought, after death, it's just whatever you wish it to be. I then considered that to be arrogant. I'm not generally happy with the lack of traditional values in society today either. So I considered having a look at Christianity. First nothing really seemed legit. Catholicism has changed too much. Protestant seemed as arrogant as my previous idea. Then I realised Orthodoxy isn't just in Russia and Greece. I'm not yet Baptised, but it's my current goal, within the next two weeks. The closest Orthodox Church to me is 2 hours away. Even now it feels like a weight being lifted off my shoulders, something to truly believe in.

Interesting, I was never an atheist but reading Nietzche actually made me reject atheism and ultimately agnosticism and shortly after accept Deism. Becoming Christian came later which is what I am now.

The question do you belief in a god, is actually only applicable to theists.
Atheists do not even think there is a god, so asking if he beliefs in one is just silly.

Firstly, atheism's foundation lies in evidence-based reasoning. Unlike religious beliefs that can hinge on faith, atheism demands empirical proof. Without firm evidence, it would be unreasonable to expect someone to abandon atheism, as it would contradict the rational principles upon which it is built.Secondly, atheism is not an active belief but a default position of skepticism due to insufficient evidence for deities. This absence of belief is based on the principle that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Therefore, for an atheist to consider theism, the evidence must be exceptionally compelling.

I was raised Christian, I have a Master's degree in computers, I was a college professor, I'm an Army veteran, my brother is a "born again" Christian, yet I am still an ATHEIST! Kyle, the bible is the claim, not evidence. You can't use the bible to say the bible is true. That goes for any holy book written on this planet. You must have evidence, which you clearly don't have.
Kyle, I still can't believe you brought me to Christianity. I was a hardcore atheist. There were other people who helped with the process, but mostly through your videos. Anyone who is a true skeptic and starts reading about philosophy will become an orthodox Christian if they are not blind in both eyes ... from a nihilistic, atheistic worldview to the truth.... thank you, God bless you

Hi Kyle, love your videos, just wanted to ask you, how do Orthodox Christians see the "contradictions" in the Bible, such as 2 Chronicles 36:9 and 2 Kings 24:8?
The Bible is giving a holistic message = God's plan for humanity..
There are two primary explanations for the apparent contradiction between 2 Kings 24:8 and 2 Chronicles 36:9 in regards to Jehoiachin’s age. The first explanation is that this represents a copyist’s error. As the Old Testament manuscripts were copied by hand, from century to century, small and inconsequential errors found their way into the biblical text. In ancient Hebrew, the numbers 8 and 18 would have been differentiated by a very small mark. No matter how meticulous the scribes were, it would be understandable if one misread the number and recorded the wrong number on the new manuscript.
The second explanation in regards to Jehoiachin’s age in 2 Kings 24:8 and 2 Chronicles 36:9 is that 2 Chronicles records Jehoiachin’s age when he was appointed co-regent with his father, and 2 Kings records Jehoiachin’s age when, after his father’s death, he became king in his own right. Other kings also used co-regents. David appointed Solomon king while David was still alive (1 Kings 1:33-40), and, when Uzziah was afflicted with leprosy, his son Jotham became co-regent (2 Chronicles 26:21). While there is no specific mention of a co-regency in regards to Jehoiachin, this is a plausible explanation for the difference between 2 Kings 24:8 and 2 Chronicles 36:9.
There are other explanations in addition to these two, but they are quite a bit more complicated. Whatever the case, there are biblically plausible explanations for this apparent contradiction. Even if this is indeed a copyist’s error, the presence of such an error does not invalidate the doctrine of biblical inerrancy. God’s Word is infallible even when well-intentioned but flawed scribes make mistakes.

The Bible is a very old book written and re-written loads of times and the Bible is based on even older stories. The thing with books and stories is, if you would destroy all books ever written, none of them would come back exactly the same except science books. I therefor believe in science and not supersticions or religions.

No, Kyle, what he is saying is that no god wrote that book as a lot of its stories come from older religions being sold in the Levant at the time. Yahweh is a Canaanite god, he was the weather and war god. Noah's flood comes from the epics of Gilgamesh, Sargon also had a basket trip like Moses, etc.

Ethics and morality grow out of this group structure. There are plenty of top scientists working in this area. If you want to know more look up names like Michael Tomasello and Francisco Ayala, just to name a couple. And of course, if you haven't read Charles Darwin's works you haven't even started. His work is 150+ years old now and no longer leading the field, but it's still a foundation for the rest.
A couple of other names to mention, Edward Wilson and Philip Kitcher. But there are many more.
