The left hand doesn't do anything. That's the beauty of learning a song like this. The chords are being played by the piano and guitar. No need for tricky left hand stuff. I'm a beginner too. I only know the easy ones
It's not a backing track. It's the original 1967 mono version of the song. I used the same Hammond organ/Leslie/Drawbar Settings etc to acheive the sound and played over it
That was played on piano on the original recording. I suppose you could just run down the root notes but it just sounds muddy because of the bass guitar part.

@@johnnystarspangle2876 I find that using root notes in the bass register just clogs things up. Best to let the bass guitar and Piano do that bit.
