That's a serious piece of kit! Definitely interested and the app looks ridiculously easy. How does it hold up to the Victory V4? I would guess that woukd sound consistent as an in ear feed since it's the V40 in a pedal?
It’s a different kind of thing to the V4. The V4 is hybrid as it is a truly valve preamp combined with IR tech. The cortex is fully digital and allows you to “capture” amps. Theoretically infinite options but the eq is an approximation of how and amp would respond whereas the V4 is a real amp eq…….hope that made sense 😂
@@edtheshredclarke yep totally. I was just wondering why you would use this over the V4 for in ears when you want it to sound like the V40. Or is the V4 also part of the live rig in a different application?
Hm. I wonder if what you're hearing whilst recording is different than the audio coming through to us... nothing sounded particularly thin to me, and it didn't even seem to change that much when you increased the bass on the onboard EQ... Perhaps it's just my listening setup? (listening on Sennheiser Momentum 4s). Anyone else noticing that? Thanks for the run-through - excellent display of what this little pedal is capable of (and fantastic playing to boot!)
Cheers! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I was thinking exactly the same when I edited it! I have a couple of ideas: 1) there is an inherent difference when you’re playing a pedal as it’s not just about the sound, it’s also the response and feel. 2) it was just down to where I was sitting at the time! Make sure you subscribe for more!
It’s a fair question. I guess because you can include an overdrive in a capture or use an overdriven capture. I can only assume it was to reduce the footprint or the cost or both!
You’re very kind. I am doing occasional tutorial videos is the “learn that lick” series that I just started so make sure you’re subscribed to see those!
Great walk through! I’m glad the irs are tweak-able as there’s no eq or high/low cut other than the tone stack for captures on here.

i had the same issue about the noise with a guitar cable but with the ground switch on the back, the noise immediately stoped ...
Ah maybe that’s the solution! Cheers!

It’s for the tweakability I guess. Just so I can get the in ear sound right as I’m so picky!
@@edtheshredclarke haha! I totally get it. The tone quest never ends!
@@edtheshredclarkeI went Two Notes Cab M for FOH and IEM, so I still get to use my amps and cab onstage. Consistent every gig.

CA stand is probably a California standard (Mesa 4x12?)
Ah yeah maybe! Cheers!
Sounds good. I like it.
Why mono output ?
Any specific reason?
It has stereo outputs but I only run a mono rig so I tend to test products in mono so I can compare it more fairly to other things I’ve used
I play a UAFX dream 65 live with delays and verb after it! With trs cable can I do the same with nano cortex?
Yep! And it can do the verb and delay for you if you’d like!
@@edtheshredclarke I know but limited to analog delay, I use polymoon! Can I put that after it?
You can! Need to use normal instrument cables. I’ve been told that the ground lift fixes the noise issue
Why doesn't it have an overdrive effect as a pre effect included? Don't understand this. Other modeling software supports this.

i need some guitar lessons from you

@@edtheshredclarke Will do. I really like the way you play. I was never that good but would love to learn some new stuff
Thanks! There’s one up already and more to come!
