One big investment not mentioned - turning your negative thoughts into positive thoughts. This means hearing "everything goes bad for me" and speaking out loud "everything goes right for me" no matter what it is. For normal people, It's literally one of the hardest things to learn because it's probably what you were told by everyone around you. It has taken me a long time to learn this, and I'm still immature at it but I've been friends with the super wealthy, and one thing they all do is believe that "it will work out one way or another." It = anything. EDIT: I just started watching your channel today, so you may have said this in other videos.
VERY TRUE. Most everything in life depends on how you see it. My dad was great example: I tend to get frustrated with amount of time, effort and paperwork required to manage finances, filing, etc. My dad, (an accountant), had to deal with same issues, but instead of describing it as "work", he called it "counting my money", as in "I count my money every day until noon" 😅
I needed to read this, I'm black. And most don't want to work with black people. No one would invest with me. So before let you know I'm not playing victim, ask yourself when was the last time you walked into a black owned business and bought anything, let alone, do you know of any small black business that is in the public? Or trading on the stock exchange?? None.
Education and skills is a big one. I never turn down an opportunity to learn something new, whether it's on-the-job or on my own free time. And it is amazing how one skillset can be useful on something else seemingly unrelated.
@@ecatwoman1964 I just want to ad.... Bingo, We have a bingo right here ladies and gentle men. This is someone who really understands. This is the only security you will ever have.
My dad told me stocks are gambling years ago. I went to the library and read books on the stock market thank goodness. Now my portfolio makes me over 100k a year tax free . I don’t make 100k a year on my 40- 48 hr/week job. Knowledge is the key to taking the fear out of it great video.
“Rich people own stocks.” Exactly right… Cashflow and dividends is the blood of survival and a business… Speaking about business, It’s practically a must for every person to start a business. Weather it’s a TH-cam channel, A actual store, or anything that produces cashflow. Very important…
Free book. I got the link. Thank you all of the financial advice. In your videos that I watched, I don't think that you told people not to put all of their eggs in one basket. If you put some money in one type of investment and other money in others, low, medium and higher risk (but not high risk), you will not lose your shirt. I did. You mentioned REITs. I thought that they were a wonderful investment. So, I put most of my retirement into major REIT corporations. Then, the pandemic hit. Since, few people were going to the mall or renting office space, etc. I lost money on many and had some even dissolve. Their companies could not sustain the loses. And when a stock or REIT company dissolves, you get nothing. I learned that hard lesson. I will tell my adult children to watch your videos. You do give a lot of really great advice, not the usual get rich quick lies that only make money for the people who tell you to invest in their programs. Your advice is genuine. And I knew a lot about saving money by not overspending. So, I absolutely agree with you. I need to get that across to my children. Subscribed. God bless ❤
Thank You for this list. I think one thing you can add to this list is emotional regulation and interpersonal skills. These will help you network and socialize well with others. Effectively communicating and self control are important skillsets. The other i would suggest is dont be afraid to ask. You have nothing to lose. This was a way i bought mu house in the 2008 crash.
I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. Totally agree - BUGT- prior to the pandemic places like Las Vegas where I live, home prices had not quite yet recovered from the 2008 housing crash. A decade of very little home building here, a pandemic and housing shortage with people moving here from California to escape their pandemic regulations and higher cost of living. As far as crypto, I shall stay away from that until better global regulation on that charade are in place. The rest of your bullet points are right on. Too bad so many here drink and gamble their incomes away.
Excellent last point! A great town to learn how NOT to spend money! And the moral to that story, boys and girls, is "learn how to learn from other people's mistakes". Watch and learn what NOT to do..without risking your own resources.
Toby these are all great. I would say on the key component of all this money generation is to spend it all on the things you want/need to spend on your agenda. I'm spending money on house improvements which are never cheap so you need plenty of money located in low interest accounts. You don't want to spend too much time on this when you are retired.
In Canada landlords are having major problems of people not paying their rent. The paperwork is nonsense to evict tenants. Landlords end up losing thousands of dollars.
That's the danger with tenant housing. The laws can be very tricky and crazy making. It depends on the type of tenant, the area etc. And like he says here get a good property mgmt company so you personally don't have the stress of people issues.
Real estate, crypto, collectibles and business are the only ones I like on the list. Stocks are for the young, I'm 10 yrs away from retiring so anything I invest in is now money or something I can sell for money.
Don’t dismiss compounding stocks over 10 years, rule of 72 tells you at 8% return a year you could expect to double your money in that time. Plus quality dividend paying stocks will keep paying you income while you’re retired.
You forgot a few: 1. NFTs 2. Brand new cars 3. Designer clothes 4. Long Term investing into penny stocks 5. Buying high selling low stock investing aka the Cathie Wood formula 6. DVD collections 7. Expensive weddings 8. Marrying gold diggers
