Hi Laz, you were actually very very good. You didn't scratch or bite anything. You didn't knock anything over. You stepped quite deftly and carefully and only attacked your scratching post toy. You then waited by the door patiently for several hours for the family to return. That's about the best kitty behavior I have seen when no one is around.
Lazzy is beyond precious and gorgeous that he could be forgiven just about anything!! The love in those handsome eyed says it all........and his love for his Dad is clearly amazing......waiting right by that door for 2 hours for his Dad........♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Well Laz couldn't see what was up there from the ground. He briefly checked it out very very carefully and apparently wasn't impressed. People don't realize cats can't see from down on the ground - they need to get a higher vantage point.
I have always taught my cats NO counter top or tables! But when I went out one day and forget the butter out and came back home and noticed those cat tongue prints all over it...they were soo busted ! LOL
He's got a healthy chunk of Siamese in him. A known quality of the breed is that they are very loving and loyal to "their" person(s). Other cats may not be quite this way; I never really realized how "stand-offish" our two torties were until we got a little tuxie cat. The tuxie is affectionate and loyal to an astonishing degree compared to the torties. The common term for their personality is "tortitude". :-)
I am always amazed and awed by how graceful and beautiful watching a cat walk tiny lines and jump and balance so easily. Laz makes it look so effortless. Laz is a little ninja with his super silent and perfect footing.
LOL, love how Laz playing with his toys, walking around, etc. Yeah, he just walked on the counter to check the window and the sink before jumping off to sit on the top of the couch. Love the idea of having cameras around to see what pets are up during absence. Yes, I recall you mentioned something about a surprise on FB page a few months ago, and presume this is the one.
Now it makes me wonder what my cats were doing while we're out. Lazzy rules the house, counter walk, window watching, rans everywhere, guarding the front door, etc. 😸👏👏👏

Laz needs window perches with the windows open and bird feeders and trees by the windows. That is what cats love the most, that and a good brushing. My cats compete for the beddies near the screened in windows. I put shelves lined with fleece and brackets underneath. Not in main LR/DR, but in the bedrooms and family room. Best thing we ever did, they just love them. One is way up high so we provided a way they can jump and jump and get to the screened in window. When we are gone, neighbor tells me my girl kitty sits up on the high shelf and talks back and forth to her. Always something interesting going on outside, bird feeder close by as well as assorted ground hogs and stray cats to hiss at. Or get him a Laz#2. Another little flame point kitten that he could wreastle with. Much as people say cats like to be alone, 40 years of observation tell me that isn't true at all. Laz needs a buddy besides his human pack mates. Or at least a fish tank to watch. :)

oo; I can't keep anything on the cabinets and any of the lower ones have to be set so nothing breakable can fall out. First week in the new house older cat jumps onto the fridge opens a cabinet and knocks out an expensive bottle of oil which of course splashes everywhere including the four month old kitten which happens to be long fine haired and hates water... yeah. Needless to say I was three hours late to work trying to clean the kitten the tiles and the flat base painted walls.
He and My stray I feed both have a Ridgeback. I've only seen a few Red Point Siamese and all three have Ridgebacks. Funny both have a little belly handing but My Snow cat is active as heck.
Geez, as soon as I go out, Oliver starts catterwauling and staring mournfully out the window until I come back, even if my husband is still home, haha. But Lazzy doesn't seem to have any separation anxiety, and that's great (hmmm, who's the more well adjusted kitty cat?)! Cool cat, cool family!
Well Laz does have quite the separation anxiety when is left in a strange place with a strange person and no way of knowing if his family would ever return as demonstrated by the "They Left Me" vid. He cried for an entire week. But Laz is quite sure they are returning to their home so he doesn't get upset when they leave.
+Trader Dave: Well, that makes total sense. And I did sort of neglect to mention MY separation anxiety, which in all honesty not only rivals, but might actually surpass Oliver's! It's a lucky thing that he loves riding in the car, and either stretches out in the back window or burrows down behind the driver's seat on the floor. Very occasionally (and only when he's wearing his walking harness), he likes to hang his paws and head out the window, canine-style.... but only for a few seconds at a time-- he doesn't like the wind in his ears! He's quite the character (and he also thinks Lazzy is one cool little feline too)!

Yeah, mine was caught hot handed one time when it was night time while I was sleeping, and when she got up to my desk, which she was not allowed and peaked into the Kleenex box. For that occasion, her head got stuck and she went down and banged on to the door to get out. I woke up from the noise and got up to open the door, and I saw that she went into the bathroom that was rarely for her to go into. When I turned on the lights, the box was stuck on her head; when I removed it out of her head, she sprang out of the bathroom immediately. I just started to laugh.

This cracks me up - cats are so predictable sometimes. We have the same "rule" in our house; basically no cat-sand-scattering paws where our food is prepared/eaten. Of course they get up there as soon as we are away or asleep. I kept seeing little black greasy paw prints on the counter and in the sink, and could not figure out where they were coming from... there should not be any oil or grease where the kitties could walk, so what was making the marks? Turns out (much to our embarrassment) the black grease was coming from the top of the refrigerator, which we had not cleaned in some time and had picked up a ton of "cooking grease" plus regular dust over a couple years. Of course, certain felines could only GET this grease on their paws by jumping from the counter to the 'frige top... the counter, where they are not supposed to be. After cleaning the top of the refrigerator, no more black prints. I somehow think this does not mean no more kitties on the counter in the dead of night, however. :-)

It's true that most cats like to have one of their own species to play, clean and sleep with. Socializing with your own kind.

A lot of cats love drinking water in sinks. And here it even got a window view, nearly perfect for a cat.
