Best explanation of rear blade on TH-cam. Thank you!
Thanks so much!
The cat is a big help in the videos LOL. Let’s see more subscribers!
She makes a good assistant! Thanks for watching!
Took me several years to find a heavy duty enough grader blade...ended up getting a Dirt Dog brand 70 series blade....It cost a lot, but it has been well worth the money for the Heavy Built Properties of the blade...... I Still have the regular size grader blade's also. because the dirt dog is almost too heavy for just general driveway resurfacing...one slip up with the three point control and you will get a good start on building that road to china it's so heavy lol
Hey I was just thinking about you the other day! I hope your crops are doing well, it’s been extremely dry here and I doubt it’s been much different in your direction. A good heavy blade makes a big difference on dirt work! Appreciate you watching!
Great video. Three point attachments are a thing of beauty.
Yes they really are! Thanks for watching!
Good evening mon ami 👍😉 Great explanation on your blades, but your nice Dodge Truck steal the show behind you 😇👍The Cat is very good actor 😉👍 Great tractor barn Sir and very well built too 💪👍😉Have a great week Mon Ami Cheers 😉👍🍻 IF SOMEONE DO NOT LIKE YOUR VIDEO I WILL HAVE A WORD WITH HIM 😉👍
I really appreciate the back up incase of a 👎, I know you would take care of them! Yes Zoey thinks she is famous now and try’s to be in all the video’s. I need to explain my tractor barn one day about how it’s built. Thanks for watching and take care!
@@khtractors Mon Ami, I'm very interested to see on how did you built it and Zoey the Cat is fun to see 😉👍🍻
Thanks! I'm hoping to buy my first tractor soon and this was helpful.
Good luck!
Thank you for taking the time to explain what blades you have and recommendations!!
Appreciate you taking time to watch! Have a great day!
Great explanations of those tools! Thank you.
Appreciate you watching!
Great video! Excellent analysis!
Thanks buddy! Have a great day!
thanks for taking the time to explain. Always a pleasure to see your videos. Take care.
Really appreciate you watching them! I hope this video maybe helpful to people interested in purchasing a new blade!
Good job on the review Ben.Another great video.Have a blessed day and be SAFE.🚜👏
Thank you so much! Take care!
That first blade looks really well built! I guess you get what you pay for. Lol, that cat wanted to be the star of the show. My father-in-law had one just like the last one, it worked well. Great information
Yes the Cat was trying to steal the show for sure! The last blade is a Lienbach brand blade I believe, it has been used a lot! Appreciate you watching!
The cat makes the video! Very helpful advice, thanks.
Really appreciate you watching!
Great video 👍🏼
Thank you!
Thank you very much!
Great video Ben! Super informative and very helpful for those of us undertaking road building (I'm one of the guys that wrote to Ben this week). Double thumbs up!
Thank you very much! I hope the video helped some! Nice tractor in your thumbnail photo by the way! Take care!
One regret I have with my blade is I don’t have the tilt functionality 🤷🏼♂️. Thanks for this review Ben 👍🏻🙂🙋🏼♂️
The tilt is very nice to have! Appreciate you watching!
Great video. Lotta good information.
When I go to get a rear blade I’ll make sure I get one that articulates in more than one direction
It good have one that had multiple settings for sure! Thank you!
Must be a good cat if you keep her around! I like that heavy blade you use on the 6060, Its tough to fund them built like that. Ive seen a lot of the rear blades from the box stores but don't think those ones would hold up to much. A lot of good valuable information in this video here. Ideally would be nice to just have one of everything like you do! Box blade and york rake are what i use on our parking area which is due for maintenance. Land plane would be really nice, but for now i just use what i got.
They all have their place! The main thing is get something strong enough to hold up. The TSC and Rural King angle blades I’ve seen just aren’t built good. Yes one of everything is nice but not always feasible. We’ve collected these over about a 20 year time frame. Appreciate you watching!
Very helpful thanks for the advice
Great! Thank you
Good video, I have an older John Deere blade, with a hydraulic cylinder that can be moved to either side, works really well🚜🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
I bet that does work good! Thanks for watching!
💥 Terrific job explaining the uses. I have a dirt driveway project coming up where I’ll be using a back blade to shape it up and get the crown back. Great video!
*Keep on tractoring!*
Look forward to seeing that video! Appreciate you watching!
How's she goin'? Nice video!! Lots of great info and if you are looking for a rear blade, this answers and explains a lot of the features of each type of blade. Thanks for sharing and take care!!!
Thank you! I’m hoping it may help someone in search of purchasing a blade. Take care!
Ben good morning this is very interesting we have a rear blade works well in Wisconsin snow
God Bless All
PaK
Good to hear your experiences! Appreciate you watching!
Great video, Brother! I just scored a 7' articulating with hydraulic and offset... for $800! I couldn't believe it! I priced one out without shipping in the Midwest to Reno shipping... $5700...still in shock and waiting to pick it up tomorrow morning.
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing!
I have tore a scrape blade up several times turning it around backwards and using it like a bulldozer pushing brush and small trees over. It does work
Yes pushing backwards is where I’ve damaged them the most as well! Appreciate you watching!
nice presentation..i have a plain ole scraper blade as i call them and i have an angle and tilt blade ..i havent used it very much but ive got a hydraulic grader blade that goes behind the tractor .if i remember right i traded an old 85 chevrolet 4x4 for it some time ago .its great for working on a driveway that about it tho ..also i got a massey ferguson 245 now in my collection.
Great to hear! I always wanted a hydraulic rear blade myself. Hope the 245 serves you well!
Great Video
It really helped a newbie to tractors like me
I got a box blade but looking for something to drag snow
I will take your advice
You explained everything very well !
Great! I was hoping it might help some people make a decision if they were looking to buy something. Appreciate you watching!
Box blades do work for snow. I live in Michigan and have moved alot of snow with my box blade kinda works like a snow pusher. You can move a good amount but you can't windrow it off to the side like a rear blade. Before you spend the money on a blade just try your box blade see if you like it. You already own it so you are not out anything.
helped me thanks!
Glad it helped!
Thank you very much iv been looking at back blades and was never sure what the offset function was, after see this video I think I'm going spend the money and get one with the offset should work good for pushing back the snowbanks I would think!
I’m glad this helped! The offset isn’t something that gets used a lot but it’s sure nice to have that option available when you do need it! Appreciate you watching!
I have found the offset function of the blade also works good for plucking out rocks or stumps. Tilt one corner down offset it so the corner is behind the rear tire then angle the corner towards the tractor. Helps put most of the pulling right behind the tractor. Need a heavy blade tho and not huge rocks or stumps just use your head.
Thanks for sharing your experience, that’s a good tip! Appreciate you watching!
Nice explanation of the blades Ben,as you know I have the 8 foot version of that Heavy blade, haven’t used it yet but getting ready to. I use the box blade most of the time but that’s because that’s the only one I’ve had to choose from lol.
It’s nice to have both! Appreciate you watching!
Can you tell me what brand/make that heavy blade is?
427 just picked up smaller 6foot blade similar to yours here. Hope it grades ditches well with b21.
I hope so! Thanks for watching
Nice Ben! I’ve got a Bush Hog box blade, 48” …. Either I suck at using it or it’s the wrong tool for me. I’ve been looking at a scraper/grader instead. Great presentation for folks trying to decide where to put their cash! - James
Thanks for watching James! I’ve always like a good scraper blade, box blades do have their place but not nearly as versatile. Have a good day!
What are you trying to do with your box blade? I have both a box blade and a scrape blade I really like both each are good for different things. Iam sure we could help you figure out what you need to do to use your box blade. Top link adjustment is very important
@@simpleman4196 that’s pretty nice! Thanks! I haven’t given it a fair shake to be honest but 99% of the work I want to do is driveway and parking area maintenance. I find the box blade doesn’t give me the results I want. I end up with highs and lows. The grader scraper just looks like a better piece of gear for my needs because it appears to be designed to fill with stone, shave off the high spots and fill the lows.
@@KillingItCountry see if anyone you know has one or rent one and try it. Both a box blade and scrape blade drag across the ground and will follow the contour. A big part of doing the work is moving the 3 point adjustment lever up and down. Slow down your tractor speed some as you feel your front end go down start to raise your 3 point and dump stone in the low area. High spots start at the bottom of the high spot and go over it a few times to cut it down. If you have a level spot before a high spot sometimes it helps to go backwards and cut it down with the back of the box blade. Not trying to steer you away from a scrape blade. I think it takes more skill or experience to be better with a scrape blade then a box blade is all.
@@simpleman4196 great tips! Thanks a lot for taking the time to type that out for me! I’ll have to put it back on the tractor and practice! Renting one is smart!
I know this is old now, but I hope you see this comment.
Can you tell me what brand that heavy rear blade is? I'm looking at a used one online that seems to be that same model, but the owner doesn't know anything about it.
Really helpful video. thanks for taking the time to make it.
The only branding I see says CHE on it. We bought it in Bristol near the racetrack several years ago. Thanks
@@khtractors Thanks for the reply.
In the beginning of your video there is a blue 3-point bucket. I’ve been looking for a used one. Thinking about selling it?
I’ll probably keep it, still find a use for it occasionally. I’ve moved hundreds of tons of dirt with that thing before getting a loader. Thanks for watching
Hey Ben did you know kubota makes landpride
Kubota bought out Land Pride a few years ago, it was a good decision on there part. I think some of the Frontier branded implements John Deere has is actually rebadged Land Pride implements. Appreciate you watching!
I have a similar blade but priefert brand but the angle “ditch angle” swivel is stuck it will accept grease but even with pin out it won’t articulate any advice how to free up so I can cut crowns and ditches ? I’ve tried using a jack but just lifts the arms on tractor … thanks
I have no idea unless the swivel pin is a bolt and maybe too tight. If not something must be bent. Thanks for watching!
2nd blade must be a CAT1 3pt set up lol.
They all are.
