1963 my peak year as a trainspotter on the ECML. Still steam around but mostly in a filthy neglected condition and the ultra modern diesels back then, ready to take over but by this time many of those starting to look scruffy, even the Deltics. The end for me was that horrible corporate blue, girls and cars. Sorry the tens of thousand of you who in later years loved the blue!

Reopening of closed railway lines would cut down on Pollution, Car Accidents, Traffic Jams & Road Deaths.
