Hahaha this is such a blast from the past. My boy and I were listening to this my freshman year of highschool. Didn’t know I’d ever see a reaction to it.
My all time favourite band right here, been into them since 2005. I genuinely think these guys are so under-rated it's almost criminal, they're so fucking talented and their music carries a complicated euphoric feeling to me. I really, REALLY wish more people would react to them.
@@Goddess_Bound hope you enjoy it. I went to the MN show. It was amazing and really fun. I’m obsessed with all their songs and they play 12 on this tour 😁
Heck to the yes for Protest the Hero. I'd definitely love to see more of them on the channel. My all time favorite band right there. And as someone who owns a headless guitar, it is the best damn thing I've ever owned. Small, lightweight, and an absolute shred machine.
Bloodmeat, bone marrow, blindfolds aside, turn soonest to the sea (got that one tattooed on me 😁) wretch, the divine suicide of k, divinity within. They're so amazing. ❤️ thanks so much for reacting to them and I really hope you do more.
Protest the Hero- “Turn Soonest to the Sea” AMAZING breakdown and change up!Please do this as it’ll be interesting to see what all the trash talkers think or tell the meaning.
Protest The Hero are one of the best metal bands of the 00s. They do come from a hardcore background (which you picked up on), but took that into a whole new direction and helped create the progressive metalcore genre. Their album Kezia (from 2005) helped change the landscape of metal/metalcore. Protest The Hero are possibly people's favourite metal bands' favourite band. Some modern bands that display their influence more openly include Red Handed Denial (whose singer is a popular TH-camr named Lauren Babic), With Sails Ahead, Press To MECO, early Don Broco (Big Fat Smile era), and many others. While it isn't as popular as Kezia, Fortress (which Sequoia Throne is From), or Scurrilous, I think Volition is their most cohesive/best output. Plato's Tripartite, Mist, and Skies are 3 of the best songs I have ever heard.
This individual songs of this album don’t do this album justice. “Fortress” is an entire listen. There is no discernible transition between tracks. It’s a long story...melody...harmony...something. I’m not smart enough to explain it, but this album, in its entirety, is my top 3 albums, ever....as a legit aged metal veteran.
Morning fellas! At first i couldnt get into it but then i liked this song! Different sound than what im used to tho...(there were parts where he sounded a little like Mike Patton,i thought...) The guitar work was crazy good!!! Thanks for sharing Darrel!🙂👍
I just have to subscribe to these guys because they react to every song...this one was surprisingly agressive, not sure why Canadians support it so much...they must not have metal bands up there? Great song...
better live concert than some of my fav bands. but it was a club show. either way was so good. fyi the concerts im talking about iws tool's lateralus and 10000 days converts, big wreck, and dallas green. but they have so much energy
The whole volition album is my favorite album, their new album palimpsest is so complex in the message with every song, check out “clarity” it’s about Star Wars and Star Trek.
Man this takes me back. Check out their song “Bloodmeat” it’s the most complex metal song I’ve ever heard
Yes!! One of their best songs.
Oh my god, THANK YOU! Please do more Protest!!!! You will love the ride down that rabbit hole!
This band is still pushing out bangers to this day! Highly underrated band! I hope they blow up and get the recognition they deserve.
Such an amazing and underrated band
These guys were way ahead of their time.
The album this song is from is a concept album!
It's pretty dope.
So many bangers off that one album. Give it a listen!
They're my homies from Canada!
Hahaha this is such a blast from the past. My boy and I were listening to this my freshman year of highschool. Didn’t know I’d ever see a reaction to it.
I love this band, they have never put out a bad album imo. Prog metal from Canada
One of my favorite metal albums of all time
Lol i was actually yelling the answers when smokey was stumped lol.
Please go down the rabbit hole with this band, they are insanely good
My all time favourite band right here, been into them since 2005.

This is my favorite band. They’re on tour RIGHT NOW!! Go watch them.
I'm going to see them in ATL in a couple weeks. Super excited. I saw them a few years ago up in Cleveland. Absolutely fantastic live.
@@Goddess_Bound hope you enjoy it. I went to the MN show. It was amazing and really fun. I’m obsessed with all their songs and they play 12 on this tour 😁
Seen them twice in Ontario, in London like 15 years ago, and in a small club in Sarnia about 4 years ago. Amazing band.
Hope you guys do more Protest the Hero in the future. Going to see them live in a couple of weeks! Gonna be a great show.
It’s been ages since I’ve heard this song. So this is a nice nostalgia trip and seeing you guys jam to it just makes it so much better!
What a band

Love to see Protest being reacted too! Keep this band alive!
At 55, Protest is still one of my favorite bands. I saw them live just last weekend in Baltimore.
Protest the Hero- “Turn Soonest to the Sea” AMAZING breakdown and change up!Please do this as it’ll be interesting to see what all the trash talkers think or tell the meaning.
Heck yeah!!!! Now check out bloodmeat & the entire Kezia album!!
That's right, Smoke. Progressive hardcore it is. Good ear.
More specifically metalcore.

I like the weirdness of it, even if I’m not the biggest fan of the growly stuff 😊
Yes! These guys are great, though I don't listen to them much anymore. This is one of the best displays of what they can do.

Oh my GOSH I can't believe y'all reacted to this I looooove them. Going to see them in ATL in a couple weeks 😎😁😁
God dammit, Rody. You got the voice of an angel.
PLEASE more Protest the Hero!
They got like 6 albums, soooo many good songs
Morning fellas! At first i couldnt get into it but then i liked this song! Different sound than what im used to tho...(there were parts where he sounded a little like Mike Patton,i thought...) The guitar work was crazy good!!! Thanks for sharing Darrel!🙂👍
Super underrated band, probably the last of Thrash.
I just have to subscribe to these guys because they react to every song...this one was surprisingly agressive, not sure why Canadians support it so much...they must not have metal bands up there? Great song...
Well damn, if they’re getting requests for Protest the Hero, might as well do He is Legend, UnEarth, Chiodos…..
better live concert than some of my fav bands. but it was a club show. either way was so good.
fyi the concerts im talking about iws tool's lateralus and 10000 days converts, big wreck, and dallas green. but they have so much energy
Cest La Vie by Protest the Hero is an underranted banger and a fucking half. Highly, highly recommend it.
That album is the best
If y’all REALLY want to see something, do their song Bloodmeat
Baby's first Sikth 😜
Blue October
The best of the thrash left. Nobody like em.
Nah, this aint it 😬👎🏼
So many temp changes kinda silly honestly. It sounds like 3 sounds pushed into one
Vocals need some major work
