I don't know about absolute beginners, but for me - who is very comfortable using an inch micrometer and needed a crash course on the metric ones - this was perfectly paced. Great video, thanks!
If you’re having trouble reading a micrometer I feel bad for you son I’ve got 99 problems and that ain’t one. Wait till you are an apprentice and get handed a 6000$ mold part and told to weld it up, grind it in with a couple tenths and polish it like it was never broken to begin with and it has to be absolutely perfect. Study hard.
This video was provided by The vendor a while ago and since then we have created our own! (It’s not metric however goes way more in depth) How to Read a Micrometer th-cam.com/video/856QfHWjXHo/w-d-xo.html
The principle behind them is very simple. There was a show in the UK, called The Great Egg Race, where teams were challenged to perform a task (such as take and print a photograph containing all members of the team), using a pile of odds and ends. In one episode, they were challenged to accurately measure the diameter of a metal ball. To do that, one team built a Micrometer, using a few bits of wood and cardboard, a metal screw, and a cork.

I can't even understand any of your explanation, you talk so fast and you explain to your level, which you have to regard the level of the learner...?
