    I was unable to go to a harp store for nearly a year after I started playing and bought a Harpsicle (with some levers) online. I thought it was nice, but when I could finally hear harps in person, I actually cried! And, I brought home a Ravenna 34 ❤️ Now I am thinking about more strings - someday!

      Not many people have a harp store nearby (these instruments are still pretty rare), so I can totally understand your situation. Still it sounds like you made really good choices, both for Harpsicle and Ravenna! Of course Harpsicle will not make as big of a sound as Ravenna or other larger harps, but it's really standing out among the instrument of its size when it comes to the quality! All the best for your harp journey

    Hi Zuzanna! Thank you, this video was very useful! My dream harp would be a Ravenna 34, but unfortunately it costs more than I can afford. I have been listening to a huge variety of harps for years now, but nothing beats the sound of the Ravenna in my ears. I was also fortunate enough to go to the Edinburgh International Harp Festival in 2018 and 2019 and listen to many beautiful harps in the Harpmakers Exhibition, but still the Ravenna is number 1 for me. It's just "rings" right for me and I love the sustain! A close second in my "Dream Harp List" is the Teifi Siff Saff. I really like the more warm and mellow sound it has.

      Hi Eri, you're very welcome and I am very glad you found the video useful!
      It's great that you've tried different harps and are now clear about what you want! I hope your dream harp comes to you one day.
      It sometimes take a while, and sometimes it may seem that it will never happen (I have been there myself...). But if you persist and are patient in the process, dreams do come true 💛

      @@erikokkalidou2145 Exactly! 2 out of my 3 harps were bought second hand - you can find real gems on the market if you know what you're looking for (and you do!). Good luck!

    Hey Zuzanna, love your videos. I recently got a 22 string Stoney end Eve with C and f levers second hand for a good deal. I’ve never played an instrument before. Do you have resources available to learn on a 22 string?

    Hello! Im 15 and live in the united states, and think the harp is very cool. I already play clarinet so i know that getting a levered harp for other keys is important. What models do you recommend for a beginner that arent insanely expensive?

    • @CoffeeBreakHarp
      @CoffeeBreakHarp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would definitely check if there are any stores that offer a rental harp - that's the cheapest option to get started, and some manufacturers offer discounts towards new harp if you have rented with them. You can start looking at Camac Harps (there are a few providers in different parts of US), also Dusty Strings... Rees Harps also make Harpsicle harps (Fullsicle is the model with levers on every string) and Camac recently released a new small harp, Odyssey that also has a fully levered version. All the best for you getting started on this exciting journey, and let me know if you have any other questions!

    Hello ! I am an electric guitar player, and i am really curious about harps, and what is the cost for an entry level harp to an expert level harp, also, if i want to learn harp, whta budget would you suggest ?
    Very nice video i learned a lot by watching it :D

    • @CoffeeBreakHarp
      @CoffeeBreakHarp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's hard to give an estimate of the cost, as it really depends what you're looking for - lever and pedal harp costs will vary greatly, while lap harps usually are cheaper. If you want to start learning, I highly recommend starting with a rental harp (these will be usually lever harps). Depending where you live, that can be a cost of $30-70 per month and if you like the model you rent, some shops can offer new harp with reduction of rental costs - really worth considering! 💛

      @@sRichterMusic how funny, I’m in France right now (self isolating)! In that case you should try Camac Harps - they cover whole Metropolitan France and have 6 different models available to rent, starting from 37€. One of my harps is Camac 😊 I’ll put a link for you here: www.camac-harps.com/fr/location-de-harpes-camac/

    Hi Zuzanna ! I am 14 years old girl and want to learn harp. Its melodious sound hits at a different place of my heart. Actually I can't afford to buy one so can you please suggest the best harp for me....❤❤

      Sanjana, that’s so great you want to play the harp! Depending on where you live, you may be able to rent a harp which is much more affordable than buying. I don’t know where you’re based but Camac Harps are one of the companies working in various locations, so perhaps they happen to know a shop near you?
