I don’t understand why PS4 is listed here, “backwards compatible”. The PS4 never could play PS2 unless it was a digital release or you have CFW the console? Seems odd to add that to the comparison when it’s not really available.

I see that if you play this part of the game on an emulator, then in principle there is not much difference, you can do it on PPSSP in 4x resolution and it will be no worse than on PS4. The PS4 version is basically the same as the PS2, only shaders have been added. And the Wii version is different from all the others, many details were worked out very well, but because of such controls it is impossible to play normally on the emulator, and there are also flashlight bugs when the camera approaches various objects. I played through this part several times on the PlayStation 2 console.
@@slushie4649 Motion controls for Wii on the Deck are totally wonky. Trust me, I tried for days to set it up…so many issues with it, I’m just done. Pointer not reaching the border of the screen, pointer bouncing wildly, etc, etc. Sticking to games that can be played with the Classic Controller setup or GC controller.
If it wasn't marketed as a remake of the first Silent Hill, I think the reception would have been much better. Yeah it still has some issues - the chase sequences can get tedious and frustrating real quick, but the atmosphere was on point. The story was good, and the ending in particular is one of the most powerful I've seen in any game. I tend to look at it as its own thing. It's like the best walking-simulator ever made. Yeah, I wish there was some real combat and I do wish they stuck with the original dilapidated, industrial, blood and rust hell 'other world' of the main series instead of the very samey-looking 'ice-world hell' we got here, but as an overall package I genuinely consider it as one of my most memorable gaming experiences ever, and for sure one of the very best games on the Wii. Would love to see a remaster on Switch.

Yeah, PS4 has an official emulator (see PS2 Classic title's in the store). But with an modified machine you can put any PS2 game on to this emulator with some homebrew method. I think, how it works. Some games not preferred emulation on PS4, and dropps fps/sound issue's. See the YT God Of War 2 PS4 frametest, that's a good example for this.
