    Hi Lily Lambert!
    You can definitely use beeswax in this recipe if you like. Beeswax is harder than soy and candelilla wax, so your lipsticks will have a firmer consistency. You may want to make a small test batch to check that consistency. If you want it a little softer, you can add more jojoba oil. =)

      We have several awesome lipstick tutorials, but they do have a glossy finish rather than a matte finish. We also have a great lip gloss tutorial, but it has a glossy finish as well.
      We have been experimenting with a lot of makeup tutorials recently, so we will keep a matte liquid lipstick in mind! If we find a combination we love we'll keep a tutorial in mind. =)

    Hi! I just need to buy the chia oil and the ecosoy wax from your site to make this recipe. Can you please tell how is the consistence of the lipstick? I want to make them to add it to my makeup line and worry about shipping in summer. I really wish you had swatches on your hand! :) I have my own recipe but even though I like it I am not 100% satisfied just yet! Thanks!

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello!
      Because this recipe has EcoSoya Wax and Candelilla Wax, which are both softer waxes, this recipe makes soft and silky lipstick. It will be softer than a lipstick recipe using beeswax and coconut oil.
      Also, thanks for the suggestion about doing swatches on my hand! These colors are bright and bold, if that helps you at all. =)

  • @Catherine_Layne

  • @jackienvndfivifd2337

    Are there any replacement items for the ecosoya and the chia seed oil??

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacqueline Hope Hi there!
      You can substitute chia seed oil with another lightweight moisturizing oil, like avocado or sweet almond oil. =)
      Avocado oil: www.brambleberry.com/Avocado-Oil-P3198.aspx
      Sweet almond oil: www.brambleberry.com/Sweet-Almond-Oil-P3205.aspx
      You can also substitute the wax, but keep in mind that will change the texture of the recipe. EcoSoya Wax gives the lipstick a soft, spreadable texture. You can leave it out and just use candelilla wax if you like. You may want to make a small test batch to check the final consistency!

      Candelilla wax is a vegetable wax that adds gloss and slip to this recipe, and EcoSoya wax is a vegetable wax that adds some smoothness to the recipe. We love using both. =)

    Just mix Vaseline and crayon colors of your choice on a double boiler. Super easy and nontoxic.

      sara richmond Hi Sara!
      We don't recommend using Crayons, as they haven't been approved for use in cosmetics. You can read their official statement on that here: www.crayola.com/faq/safetymsds/is-it-safe-to-use-crayola-crayons-to-make-lipstick/
      You can use leftover lipstick to color the balm if you like though! =)

    I use a metal mold for making lipstick bullets, however creamy in texture my lipstick is, my bullets are cracked on the outer surface when I remove them from the mold. Any suggestions why this happens??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

      Hi Tania! You could definitely put this product in pots if you prefer. Although applying this with your finger could be a little messy because it has quite a bit of pigment =)

    I've watched a lot of your videos, but here can you use vegetable oil?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +K.T .N We didn't test that in this recipe, but I believe that would be just fine! I would recommend making a small test batch and trying some on. Depending on the vegetables used, it may be heavier or lighter feeling. With a small test batch you can add more or less depending on your personal preference. =)

    please answer:
    1. is this matte of glossy lipstick
    2. how long will it last
    3. can i subsitube those wax with beewax and how much should i use?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +glasses girl Hi there!
      This lipstick has a lovely glossy/satin finish. It lasts several hours on the lips, but will transfer onto a cup or if you eat food. Also, you can use beeswax. It is a harder wax, so it will make the lipstick harder overall. I would recommend dipping a cold spoon in the mixture while you're making it. That will make it harden instantly so you can check the consistency. If you want it softer, you can add more jojoba oil. =)

      We recommend using oils from brambleberry.com, as they are specifically made for cosmetics. If you do use vegetable oil, check with the manufacturer to make sure it's safe to use on your lips. =)
