That's one of the torture resistance techniques taught to special forces.
You focus on a spot on a blank wall until you get tunnel vision and the wall starts to bubble and warp.
It's supposed to release all kinds of endorphins ect too

I have done multiple psychedelic substances.
I no longer do any.
I can Hallucinate at will, whenever I want, I just need good music, some paper and a pencil.
I will add, I am also autistic and epileptic.
But yeah, boom, I just squeeze my brain in the right places, keep my legs closed at the knee to add blood flow to the brain, and boom, my 'third eye' is broken through.
This is great, because drugs aren't always cheap, I no longer need money to get high.
