Nice video and topic.i have gc 16 480w,and it has 4 cob.s and all the 12 pcs 3w led around the non working cobs doesnt work also,so im thinkin that one driver is out..
Hi Mikko, ye it seems to be so. I would simply ask for repair/replacement at vendor. Iam not a guy who would be able to fix driver so can't help you much in this case. Anyway I didn't had any problems with GC4 so far. Currently Iam growing tobacco under lights :)
Currently I have no free time for this and Iam not really electric techinician :) replace fan was easy, just "click-click" but bulb? hmm if it looks too difficult, try to look for some real electro techinician. Sorry I can't help much :(
Hi, if you gonna use noctua fan, then just don't use ULNA (Ultra Low Noise Adapter) because it doesn't have enough cooling capabilities. Connected them directly so they work stronger and cool more, they gonna be silent anyway ;)
@@mikefeatherstone4195 eh :/ I would better have all without ULNA. If you choose 3 with and 3 without, then cooling is not going to be equal everywhere. This would cause areas with higher temperatures which could reduce the lifetime of COB lights.
I believe so. Can't confirm at 100% but I suppose they make it in standardized size. Greenception said that fans can be replaced by fans from regular PC.
Hello Hans, yes Iam also noticing that now in super hot summer the light is more hot than before. Iam going to try the same as you, remove "Ultra Low Noise Adapter" during summer. So light will get more air flow.
@@herbalist7269 I tried something similiar with a beamer. unfortunately the noctua fans can't produce the pressure then the loud fans - therefore the airflow is reduced - which means the LED gets hotter. my beamer was dead in 10mins, I dont know what happens with the lamp after a long using periode.
@@fifdesign89 true that, but Iam not sure if I heard correctly, but producer was saying something about the lamp is almost capable of living without cooling, but iam not really sure if i hear d correctly as they spoke only german and auto translation doesn't work ok sometimes.
@@herbalist7269 I just can tell you that a overheated LED will be stop to work quicker as a proper cooled one. Maybe you can measure the temperature inside with your mod vs. the original setup. Can you also measure the sound wave pressure in dB? Maybe you can add a third fan. It would be also good to compare the data sheets of the two fans.
@@fifdesign89 i have no proper temperature meter, but when I touch the light it is cold, so noctua without "Low noise adapter" is capable of cooling it. But with adapter its good only for colder months.
Hi David, you mean GC Bar Single or GC Spot? And actualy I was just upgrading ventilator to make LED super quiet, Iam not that kind of electrician to be able to replace whole COB light. However inner parts looks "simple" so it should be possible to replace them on your own. But if there is something with COB, then try warranty, reseller should be able to fix it for you.
@@herbalist7269 i mean that i need to replace or repair one led cluster from the gc9 but i dont understand much of electricity..2 fans and 2 clusters dont work anymore
@@daviddebueger6163 it seems that there is something with power input box, thats why both cluster+fan is not working. If only LED cluster would be damaged, then fan would be working normally, but it is not so it seems the power input has some problem. In GC4 there are 3 "Power input boxes" you can see them at 0:55 (white boxes). But iam also not electrician so this is my best guess whats wrong. You cant contact shop and use warranty? They should be able to fix it for you. or give new light, depends on warranty rules in your country.
thanks Herbalist for this awesome video&great content overall. I have gg16and i have To do the same thing.

Können Sie zeigen, wie man eine Birne, in dem Falle die Blütebirne, austauscht. ?
Can you show how to replace a bulb, in this case the flowering bulb. ?

I realy liked you Video. It seems easy to change them. I have the gc 9 and i realy want to do the Same upgrade. Any recommendations ?

Thanks for you Answer. I might do that . Maybe 3 with an 3 without ULNA? 😃

Do you know if the GC9 has the same sized fans?

Moin. Wird die Luft ins Gehäuse gesogen oder raus?
Hello, Google Translate:
Die Luft wird seitlich angesaugt und von oben abgeführt
How is the light ?yld or something:))
Hi Strat, it's brand new, bought three months ago. To be honest, its fantastic better than my old Secret Jardin bars.

Nice video but a video about the repairation of the single led clusters from the gc would be even more helpfull..thanks :D
