@@Bluesit32 Getting a fresh pizza is great. Eating it cold the next day is also great. Who began this idea that a "personal size pizza" had to be tiny... I just wanna have a word with them!

I really appreciate how the BCU always includes two things that not all cooking shows do: mistakes and where all the food went!
I hate food waste and the rise of TikTok has definitely increased the amount of food that gets cooked/purchased just to take a nice picture and then throw away. I’m glad they always at least show us that try to avoid that food waste

As a Milanese living in London who ate many late-night pizzas at Spontini in his childhood, I can tell you that yours looks much better. Well done mate! 🙂
Spontini has its charm, but i gre up in the suburbs. Pizzeria Anna a Bussero all the way!
Pizzeria Giuliano in Sarpi is the way to go just trust me on that

Small detail I've been noticing from all the Anything with Alvin episodes - He's very careful to make sure that there isn't any food waste, which I've really been appreciating.
I think the leftovers should go to a soup kitchen, instead of everyone taking it all home.
@@lucinae8510 - most soup kitchens will not accept food that isnt factory packaged or made on site.
It only takes one lawsuit for a homeless person to own a soup kitchen.

This is probably the origin of the traditional Argentinian "pizza al molde". Must try if you are ever in the region, I recommend "El Cuartito" in Buenos Aires.

This pizza may be made in Milan but the crust coming out like bread is very American pizza chain style. This still looks somewhat better! It feels pizza has come full circle
The prominence of American pizza chains is actually responsible for pizza's popularity in Italy outside of Campania. Pre-WW2 it was really just a Naples/Amalfi dish.
there also bread like pizza styles from italy which have been around since the 1800s (sicilian pizza as an example)
they are just not that known as italian styles out side of italy

@DUD3H0WD4R3U it's interesting that only some styles of pizza from specific cities/regions became known as "Italian" while others that are just as old but less well known are seen as less legitimate

I tried this once when I was in Milan and it remains the best pizza I've ever eaten in my life.
I used to study in Milan and pizza al trancio was my staple after an evening of heavy drinking. Brought back a lot of memories.

Reminds me of when me and some other kids made pizza while at a summer camp that was near a community college with guidance from the campus chefs. Everyone elses looked like a traditional pizza while mine looked like the one in the video (just a smaller piece of dough) because I oversaturated the cheese, it was my first time making a pizza btw. Still think of it as a happy accident because that was the favorite of all the pizzas I had in my lifetime.
I would love to work in this studio as clean up or something just to get the snacks and leftovers 😂 you be feeding everybody Alvin

This kind of pizza is very popular in Argentina by the way. Next time, try cooking the dough without sauce but with finely sliced onion until onion is crisp... then add a ton of mozzarella... there you go, a Fugazzetta Pizza

I was a pizza hut dough master for 5 years back when we made the dough from scratch 🍻
This actually reminds me a lot of Sicilian style pizza. Growing up in New York, it is a staple of all the pizzerias in the Big Apple. It's definitely bready and thick, like this one. The only thing is that it's square shaped and not triangular like what we see here. Still, this comes pretty close to it.

Day 172 of petitioning Babish to make the Triple Fried Egg Sandwich with Chilli Sauce and Chutney from Red Dwarf
Alternate slices of mozzarella and munster, its waaaay better. Biggest flex is adding a bit of asiago into the alternating slices for a nice smokey bite. Best 3 cheeses for pizza when mixed.

Pizza-Hut makes the best thick pizza's, if you ask me. I don't know why, they just do. I've had them in Poland, Indonesia, Australia and The Netherlands.

Pizzeria del Sole in Milano Corvetto is even better than Spontini. With both recipes being very close little details make a difference, like using a forno a legna. If you see the little burnt parts you'll know it's gonna be delicious

I havn't eaten sugar or dairy since i swapped out dairy for carbs when I was on keto for a few years. I have dreams where I eat like 8 of these. It doesn't work that way but I wonder if there would be any actual problem with my overall health if I cooked one and ate it 8 times until it was done.
