IDK if things are still the same with Ripcord since they have moved from Montana to Canada, but years ago their outstanding customer service is what kept me using their products for over a decade. Always been quality. Glad to see they are catching up with the times again.
Just got my RATCHET yesterday and I'm at the range now shooting it. The listing on ebay said limb driven but it's buds cable activated . I love the look of the rest alot and so far , no fletching issues at all . Worth the money in my opinion and I really like the design of the micro adjust . Great video brother !!!
review the Vapor Trail GI8X. the new one for 24. it's an awesome rest light and simple to set up and no quiver contact with the detachable on a Mathews. I do enjoy your reviews keep them coming
Did they thread screws directly into plastic? Is the grub screw that holds the limb chord directly crushing the chord or is there a plate in between? Also wondering if the blade is replaceable without disassembling the whole unit?
This is very intriguing I would like to see a durability review later on I've been contemplating going to limb driven but have been hesitant to shell out the money it looks like a great design
Nice review!!! the launcher re adjust is simple just loosen the launcher dial, hold the dial and push the arm down and lock it you dont need to retention the cord.
I’m really curious to see if maybe with all the new rests coming out if I can finally find a limb driven system like this that will fit my Xpedition Mako X
I like the look of the rest. Realy need to test this one,i have had a few Ripcords over the years, and never had any issues with them.the micro adjust on this one at this price point makes a big difrance.
I have the hamskea Epsilon and am very happy with it, however, it is a pain in the ass to adjust. So this looks amazing. If the durability holds up, I think they have a winner on their hands.
I have used a lot of ripcord rests with great success. Vapor Trail next please!! I love my Gen 8. It far exceeds the epsilon or any other rest for that matter imo. Thanks for the great review
Good stuff. Vaportrail doesn’t have any of those weird springs of gizmos for tightening the cord. Vaportrail is easier than this. Vaportrail clears the arrows. Just buy a Vaportrail.
Interesting design. Haven’t looked at rest prices since I bought my hybrid Hunter several years back. Little bit of sticker shock as this “less expensive” model is $209-$259. 😮 I’ll likely give this one a closer look though as I’ve been a fan of Ripcord products in the past.
One thing I just noticed from the front picture, it looks like the modern Mathews bows, you would struggle to get a maximum allowed WA overdraw (6cm) if you wish to torque tune or just want an overdraw ! (Struggled mightily on my brace bar Hoyt)
Hopefully you can review the 2024 PSE Lazer target bow saw it online but I would love a review from someone like you since your not a spo sponsored shooter so no bias in bow review
I was of the impression that the "integrate" style interface was proprietary to QAD, which is why Hamskea isn't compatible. Is that true, and if so, does this mean that Ripcord is paying a licensing fee to QAD to attach to that system?
Hamkea E-Z glide and the rebound dampner is fast to adjust and bullet proof. If your cord gets caught on a branch, its second to fix. The Hamkea spring is not good to run bush wack'n.
Ive used many ripcord rests and for the most part they a great product, Canadian based i believe. Years ago they had something special with the Lok rest, the only limb driven rest that had a precock like a cable driven does but they had high failure rates. I owned four of them and all four broke within 6 months of use. Internal componets failure. Don't know why they didn't dig into that further or why another company doesn't make a limb drive that that the launcher precocks.
I have only ever used ripcord rests since the original.. I'm generally shy away from limb driven but I'm guessing one could convert this to cable driven? Or do they make a cable driven version?
My favorite pistol i have ever shot is my CZ Shadow 2. In Urban gray and black. Ive shot quite a few pistols over the years but not much as far as high end custom builds or staccato or anything like that. But hands down my Shadow 2 is my favorite pistol to shoot and that i have shot

My family and I have been shooting ripcord for close to ten years now, no complaints. Limb or cable driven no difference.
I went with this rest this year and love everything about it. From setup to shooting it’s excellent rest.

Is GI8x the micro adjust version of the rest , I've been trying to find out if it is ok with the one piece Mathews quiver. Thanks

Yes

I think I will give it a try. I have had Ripcords in the past years ago. Seemed solid. As always, thanks for the review!
Like the overhead unboxing and reviews, just flip that camera image in post please lol
I’m a newbie so I’ll probably try this MFJJ, I was gonna call your store so they can guide me on a new rest so thanks. 🙏🏽

Need to review the Obsession bows - MagLite , mGkite 360 & the Bone

I’ve had good luck with ripcords. This one looks good

Hey Josh......would you be willing to do a review on the trophy ridge propel limb driven rest
Would you do a review on the trophy ridge propel rest? Would like to see if it’s a good option for a budget rest.
I have the hamskea epsilon rest made for mathews and i have the low pro 1pc mathews quiver and my arrows do Not touch. And i do not need spacers.
The 1 piece removable quiver sits out further, it's only the 2 piece fixed quiver that sits even closer to the riser that has clearance issues.
Doesn't he say that in the video?
Would love to see you do a review of the Trophy Taker - X TREAM PRO LOCKUP CLICK cable driven and limb driven.
Thank you. I love the channel.😊

Could you do a video on essentials to buy for a Home Archery Shop?
Thank you for sharing this great information
God's Blessings

Very cool let's get some vapor trail love next!
Everything what he says is bad on limb driven rests is pretty much the otherway with vapor trail and so easy to adjust.
I was of the impression that the "integrate" style interface was proprietary to QAD, which is why Hamskea isn't compatible. Is that true, and if so, does this mean that Ripcord is paying a licensing fee to QAD to attach to that system?
You should come to Oklahoma and shoot a SHOT The 3d Experience and test it out! Itd be super cool to have you there

The Hamkea spring is not good to run bush wack'n.
Do you know when u r getting more 6 inch mule stabilizers on your website?
I see you with that overhead camera playa 😂. Nice benchmade too
So whens that drawboard coming out?
I know you have a website but do you do custom arrow builds for sale?
I'm stuck between this since I can integrate with my new Athens or the Hamskea Epsilon
Ive used many ripcord rests and for the most part they a great product, Canadian based i believe. Trophy Taker makes the smackdown limb driven rest that pre cocks
Integrated limb driven option, nice
Used that type of cord attachment several times, and it cut that cord eventually every time! I'll stick with my bulletproof Hamskea!
I have only ever used ripcord rests since the original.. I'm generally shy away from limb driven but I'm guessing one could convert this to cable driven? Or do they make a cable driven version?
It’s not meant to be used as cable driven. Just stay away from the ripcord max. That thing is the loudest drop away in the world.
My two experiences with ripcord is they don't last worth a dang. But if they have fixed that issue, that's a nice rest.
Looks like hamskea and QAD had a baby looks sickkkkk I'm buying one
Available for purchase yet?
Just get a Vaportrail. The gen 7x is the best, simplest, most durable and reliable rest on the market.
Mohawk magician back at it baby
Any recent updated on the Ratchet?
I'll stick with my Vaportrail. Light and simple.
The Pro VX is indeed a limb driven rest that continues to perform over the test of time. Really light, very simple. Agreed.
@@huntsimple9527 I've got an original Pro V as well as a Gen 7 and Gen 7x. Never an issue with any of them. The Micro adjust on the 7x is fantastic.
Hey I'm about to catch a live for once!
Put it on a new bowtech and see if the arrows clear just a core ss
You guys ever heard of a "Ready Rest" Its a full containment rest but its on rollers.
back again to say once again CANADA IS AMERICA
regretting buying an epsilon, should have stuck with qad
Better than Hamkea! Woo, woo le.. impossible 😊
Canada isn’t close,a very distant cousin!
Anyone know the weight??
Just add some felt pad to cord ratchet knob.
Our kissing cousin 😂
Vapor trail is better than the epsilon
😂 Canada 💋
cheap??? it cost as much or more then the QAD or Hamskea its 259 bucks
...canada is america
