No matter how you slice it, he improved a second in 2024 when compared with his head to head competition. All this posturing about his technique would be persuasive if he had applied significant changes from when he was a mid-47 swimmer. Did he? Ok. He was born on 4 August 2004. And turned 20 this year. There would be natural development from 18 to 20. But he is a month younger than David Popovici, and he set his world record when 17 years of age.
