Trucks look awesome. Keep some windshield washer fluid with you. If you’re bridging it will wash all the salt down to the auger. Saves vibrating it all out. Back to back days of salting is brutal. Wait until you get some storms and deal with melt off, refreeze twice a day for a week. And then get another storm 🫠. Nothin my side of pa yet.
Brian- glad the salters are working well for you. As quickly as you can, get away from running salters on pick up trucks and get into a small dump. 1.5 yards vs 4 in the bed with an under tailgate. Less maintenance, less problems, less storage. Less bed rust rot.
Awesome! Great trial runs for us all to start winter. I pulled up on you at the dealership by Wiengartz last week. Great meeting you. Keep up the good work. Snow game is a game changer. Good luck and hope to see you out grinding
yup.. I agree.. I been following Brian for years and this is one of the many reasons why I do so. Also, video content and editing is ON POINT. I dont follow the landscaping side of the business but im sure thats just as good for the landscapers out there.
Just a little tip, I have a boss vbx as well. I enjoy setting the auger at 3 and spinner on 10. Turn spinner down for narrow patches and hit blast for shaded/heavy areas. The 3/10 settings seem to be conservative with salt. Can always make an additional pass. We got 6” in Kansas City over this past weekend. Exhausted from it
One thing me and my brothers do, we leave the plows on most of the time, that way if we need them, they’re right there. For instance if we go out on a salt run, and it ends up being more snow than we figured, we can push off the parking lot before salting, that way you save salt and the parking lot looks better.
@ yeah, that’s what makes sense for us, although this year we didn’t get our stuff set up until Black Friday, but it’s going to stay until grass starts to grow in the spring.
Good work and looking good, try to keep a square 8" shovel to transfer salt from the rear of the box to the front where the auger or chain draws in the material. This will keep you from burning the vibrator so much and give a consistent flow of the salt, even though you are getting low on salt. Spread thin then move to another section, you can always swing back if it isn't brine'n proper. You can always swing back by and add a little, but you can't pickup excess salt lol. We are paying about $86.00 tax included per ton here StL.
Only thing I’d recommend from experience is if you can put the plow on to because we have gotten caught with our pants down before and had to put plows on the day of which is no fun. Also have a coupe of jugs of windshield washer fluid with you especially when it get really cold. Salt will freeze and it sucks if you don’t have it
Couple questions Brian and you may have answers on other videos already. What’s the light setup on the truck? I need some! Also how do you have your salt controller mounted or located in the truck. Have a 2018 f250 king ranch so looking for some better ideas I think
Hey bryan lawn maintenance a nother great video on your channel i hope and your family have a great holiday and merry Christmas from my family to your u definitely my favorite TH-camr for a while now
Hi Brain Brains Lawn Maintenance Nice Video of Spreading the Salt in Thoses Parking Lots Question How Many Bags Per Parking lot does it take a know your doing it in Bulk But or do you Save More Money just Dumping it into your Box vs Hand loading it with a Bucket Loader 👍
Thank you Brian for not getting political about weather modification impacting trump states again blah blah blah blah. Making its rounds everywhere again. Enjoy the snow. People act like it's the apocalypse. Glad y'all staying safe! Stay warm. And also, if you have free time. Offer some roof snow removal. Roof collapses happen alot during these events. Always help the elders
@ Not sure if he transports employees to the jobsite in warmer months or not. Guess a longer sander would be too heavy to maximize the bed. Hey, he’s the expert I’m just a curious viewer. 😉
Crew because mines still my family vehicle when needed haha. The other trucks that are 8' have extended. It can seat 4 when needed. $1.5k for the extension is worth the investment for a backup truck that needs to haul 3 or 4.
How many of you guys are salt extra and how many salt inclusive? Every time we salt I see the bank account lower. It’s not a money maker. Mind you, we probably charge more for the all in.
Tell the guy who load u try to load towards the end truck me any salt in bed will destroy that truck not only in summer salt gets in places u can’t imagine
Boss distributes brine hardware, creating & application. Saving time, material cost, customer property decay caused by salt application, as well as the environment. Thanks for what you’re doing and your community comments, I learned something today. Here is a link that’s very informative. th-cam.com/video/9QVdxiNGQGg/w-d-xo.html

Love that ur talking your numbers and your employees are there and they can see how they can grow with the company as it grows
We're a transparent organization, we all win together that way.

Glad you finally got a spreader and realized that’s the easiest money maker in snow removal.
Liquid Mag Chloride works great. Lay down gallons

Appreciate the tip! I'll have to give that a try.
Truck looks cool with the lights

Exactly, never why some guys constantly take the plows on and off all winter. It goes on in November and does not come off until March
@ yeah, that’s what makes sense for us, although this year we didn’t get our stuff set up until Black Friday, but it’s going to stay until grass starts to grow in the spring.
My powerstroke runs a little hot with the plow on. Take 5-10 to put the plow on. Not worth me keeping it on

It started snowing here on Black Friday by Saturday. We’re about 5 foot of snow here in Ashtabula, Ohio.

Do you have air bags on the pick up that’ll help suspension
Hey Brian looking to have my truck all lighted like yours(flashers) who do you recommend
We used to use sound off and route 1 Yousef but he recently closed shop. RJ is another guy in Chicago I think who offers work.
Yea I like the lights!
I ordered some equipment defender for my new sure trac hybrid dump trailer 🙏
Congrats brother!

Its great that your saving so much money. The unfortunate part is that salt will rust your truck faster
It’s all part of the game! 💪
I prefer the western snow plow and salter
I do a lot of spreading in reverse
Tis the season. We got about 3/4 inch here. Me no salt though. Will melt tomorrow.
What lights r u running in your grill on your truck without the plow?
Sound off signal I believe!
Look into switching over to a vsi and brine
Mark seems like a good person and team member to have around 🤔
They're all great!
Love your Content just want to say your trucks make the same sound from the remake of war of the worlds!!!! when the aliens were about to attack....
Hahaha yes!!
Salted for years, now we use brine. Easier and way more profitable!
Love that! What market are you guys in?
Traverse City Mi
I own a Snow Removal company in Alaska, and We can't get snow to save our lives 😩
The money in the snow plowing business is in salting…Then sidewalks …Plowing is a distant third…

:)
You need to throw a camera up on the edge of that hopper so you don't have to keep checking how much salt you have left.
Great call.
Wonder why a crew cab and 8’ bed? Must be a reason but…….🤷🏽
Probably versatility in the off season

We're about 60/40 on per visit versus monthly.
No more Mike B doing your salt?
No sir! He's at capacity anyways and is enjoying the reduced work load lol
