Un seigneur du blues ce mec, quel interprétation de ce standard magnifique, chorus, rythme, technique, voicing d'accord, j'écoute ce génie en boucle.... RESPECT Maestro 😘👍 Vive CHUBBY.
The first time I heard this tune was on the local public radio station KPLU that played Richard Dangel's version of Freddie King's tune. Searching the interweb I found Poppa Chubby's version and all of these interpretations are what makes the blues great, no matter who wrote, there are versions that touch you in a very special way. I'd like to think of each interpretation of this tune that touches different parts of your soul and that's what makes this music great. Poppa keep it up, I would love to come to see you in Victoria Canada.
I saw Popa at a concert in Madrid a long time ago, I think he is from New York, well, that day was not his day, nothing came of it, of course the public was cold and barely applauded, he became so nervous that he threw his Fender to the keyboardist who was already looking at him badly, and who got us to start leaving the room half empty, he doesn't know that those of us from Madrid are the kings of mambo okay Popa
I do wish he would "remember" there is a third verse, so bodging a fake third verse be repeating part of yhe second is not needing. Don Speckle did the same. Ruins the song every time. Remembering the sun shining round my back door is the second verse. The third is how you see sunshine but all I see is rain. Don Nix wrote and he and Bonnie Bramlett did a magnificent collaboration.
