    A few pointers,
Spin the heat shield round so it goes a little underneath the motor, it will help support the motor as it's just air underneath.
The antenna has a small grub screw to undo, think it's 1.5 mil then the tube will fit down inside. I've pushed any excess down inside the receiver and bent the tube so it sits under the body and had no issues with reception.
Upgrade to the hd alloy shocks, the plastic ones do blow out.
The rear drive cup on rear axle comes loose for a past time, loctite the grub screw in there, I was constantly loosing rear wheel drive. Also upgrade to the hd rear wing mount, there's more flexibility in it and you shouldn't break a wing using it.

Ahh mate, they're excellent suggestions, thank you!
How did you program the esc..? Did you need a program box, or can you program it with the on/off switch?
Think I'll go with aftermarket shocks tbh, I'm sure I could get a quality set for under 40 quid... or maybe a set off another truck.
Any suggestions on shock oil in the standard shocks? Just to get me by until I upgrade them.
      Thanks again matey 👍

@@TheChequeredFlagOriginal I just bought the alloy bodies shocks from model sport. They are under the up grade hop up section. I've just left what ever oil is in them as standard.
I got a hobby wing programme box. £20 from Facebook market place. New they're around £30. U can set with the on off button but it's so much hassle tbh.

@thedorsetcarper3219 just checked them out... my only concern is that the top caps are still plastic, and they were an issue on my maverick quantum flux mt.
So I'll probably go with aftermarket ali shocks tbh.
Awesome matey, I'll probably go with the program box then... never had one of them before, and might come in handy with other rcs.
      Thanks again buddy

@@TheChequeredFlagOriginal I don't tend to go to heavy with my car so they are fine for what I use.
Definitely get the ECU program box, makes life so much easier. 👍🏻

Also i programmed mine to 100% punch and 75% breaking which seems to make it drive slightly better

      Thanks for the tips!
So far I've turned the motor heatsink around, fitted the aerial tube, put the punch upto number 4, and put the brake force upto 75%. Seams much more responsive! Gonna do the diff oil next

For the money they are not bad, as long as you dont crash them. Light crashes arent to bad, but medium to hard crashes they do break pretty easy. Diff gears & drive train, axles, tie rods, plastics in general, body are not the strongest for sure. The suspension arms & front drive shafts are the same ones of off the smaller Quantum, also if you run on gravel areas. You will more than likely strip the plastic centre spur gear with stones trapped between the chassis & spur, done this on my second pack of running the truck, so upgraded to the steel spur. I also put 100k in the centre diff, I have the Quantum XT Flux, Quantum Flux + & was thinling about adding the Quantum Flux RX Rally. But I to have heard their maybe some new Mavericks coming, so will hold off for now just in case some new cars are being launched.

I think for the original price (270 I think) they're not bad, but for the current price i reckon it's real bargain territory...
Yea, I think the key to maverick ownership is landing it on the wheels... fortunately, it's easy to control in the air!
I had the quantum flux mt, it was my first brushless rc, and I was smitten with it! But it had some serious weak spots, those driveshafts being the worst... so I was a bit disappointed to see the front and rear of the original quantum line had been used on this more expensive model.
It held up really well on its first run, and I'm intrigued to see how well it holds up over the next few months.
I'm kinda glad they used the arms off the original quantum line up, as metsafil make upgrade arms, which is ideal...
Anyhoo, hopefully it's not gonna be a headache 🤞🤣

And yes, I'd definitely say there is a whole new range of mavericks on the way...
Nearly the whole range has been reduced in price, and they've just released a new 16th scale. Think it's called the Atom

    • @TheChequeredFlagOriginal
      @TheChequeredFlagOriginal  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@owen8538 I mean I've had this one out several times and not gone easy on it...
It's broken the front bumper and the wing mount...
New bumper was like £7, and upgraded wing mount was about the same...
The rear drive cups are a problem, in that they come loose on the shaft, and you then lose drive.
There are a few upgrades available for them, but not loads...
I'm impressed with it for the money tbf, however if it cost £300 I'd not be so impressed

This think is made out of cheese so calling it basher its bit of a stretch.I had 2 mavericks in a past and was disappointed. arms so weak, diffs even weaker. But its ok just for driving on grass and fields. but i like the look of it.

I've heard this from some people, but the opposite from others...
Mine did really well at the pump track.
Maybe it's luck of the draw...
There are definitely some weak areas, but nothing broke yesterday, and I did some decent jumps with it.
Maybe you were unlucky, or maybe I was lucky 🤷‍♂️
Either way, I definitely bashed it lol
