[4K] Installing A Telegraph Pole And Updates. Nottingham. May 2021

- A team of contractors installing a new telegraph pole and updating those that connect to it.
It took them a few days to complete the various stages.
The contractor was 'UK Powered Access'. I noticed some, not all, omitted to wear some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Gloves, hard hat, breathing masks. Others were smoking and or vaping. I'm sure those in the know who get to see this will notice both good and bad practice.
As a lay person I filmed what I saw when I was able to of course. Good to see the different stages of the process which I don't think has changed too much over the years. Workplace practices evolve along with the technology.

Well, as much as they may be hard working lads they are very unsafe hard working lads. So much wrong with this video that I’m not sure where to begin.
An excellent example of how to get sacked
Norris with nothing better to do filming through a crack in his window curtains trying to get good honest workers in trouble. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

Ex military or not they are doing so much wrong! A FFP3 Mask would protect the lad on the saw better than his shirt! Whoever posted the video should pull it down, nobody’s perfect.
Why don’t people use dust suppression and masks with Stihl saws? There must be something in 😅the air and that’s probably silica dust! 😂 And what’s the deal with the guy wearing the black fireman’s helmet? Nobody else give a toss.?
Why is UK going backwards? When installing fibre optics they said it would meet all growing needs for Internet and calls. Underground. Remember they spent billions upgrading to that and caused towns etc mass upheaval over several years. Now telegraph poles are being kitted out again.
Apparently 98% of calls go underground. So, what's the govt push with this?
I ask because I enquired with a provider and they could not answer, other than saying govt project.
As they have removed and decimated every tree around me to add lines to one in my garden I want answers. Especially as there have been 10+ occasions they demand access which means protective fence removal each time
And frankly some of the worker attitudes stink. But no worries, I'm free with pertinent answers.... 😂
