Thanks Radon glad you found the video useful and all the best in your new role! Ps keep an eye out for a new video coming soon showing a tour of a FF cabinet!
Great video. Does the ONT have to be connected directly to the router or can it go through a network switch along with the rest of the network in the property? Also does the external fibre junction need to be at ground level, can it be mounted at approximately 1st floor level?
Hi Richard thanks for your comment. In answer to your question about the ONT connection to the router you can run it though a network switch (which is what I do see th-cam.com/video/l-9AOf0XvUk/w-d-xo.html ) providing you have it setup on its own dedicated VLAN with your routers WAN port connected to the same VLAN for the router to pickup the WAN connection from the ONT. In answer to your other question possibly yes but you would need to discuss this with Full Fibre prior to install and they will be best to advise.
I live in a flat I did a home move with BT I've been waiting 3 months since I moved to get my full fibre, I'm not in line of sight from a nearby pole and they don't do underground cables I wonder when I'll get connected 😕
Not sure if you mean data allowance ie how much data your allowed to download or do you mean bandwidth ie how fast your connection is? If it’s the first one then almost all fixed line ISPs in the UK offer unlimited data this will be stated on the providers website when you signed up to the service. For the bandwidth this will be as per the package you signed up to.
Hi Peter just to clarify I don’t work for Full Fibre Ltd myself just created this video for them and my channel. I can answer your question though Full Fibre Fibre Heroes network is 100% fibre optic from the exchange to the home they only do FTTP. They use an XGS-PON network which is 10Gbps capable be sure to checkout the Cabinet tour video I did which explains how their network is setup 👍
Hi Westtell4 , Music featured in the video is by Anders Enger Jensen www.youtube.com/@AndersEngerJensen which to my knowledge is not used by Linus Media Group but is used by 8bitguy
Depends on the ISP (fibre heroes are a wholesaler like Openreach) IDnet and Squirrel give you a static IPV4 by default and other ISPs like BeFibre are CGNAT by default but offer static IPv4 as an add on for a few £ more per month
They leave a loop as they will need multiple attempts teminating the Fibre, has anyone had an installation with correct cable clips or do they just use 8mm round like on mine #Yehaaa #get off ya horse and drink ya milk #Cowboys
Nice 8-bit guy reference
Ikr!
Really cool video. I am starting a role as a Openreach PIA Auditor for FF soon so this knowledge is really handy!

@@nsmmedia brill! Can't wait
Fantastic! Even more excited than I was!
Would be neater if the cable through the wall went directly into ONT box.
Great video. Very informative
Thank you Phil much apricated

Great video mate
Great video! Can you share what ONT is installed there?
I don’t have the exact model number to hand but it is a Nokia XGS-PON ONT
Ok you are connecting a full fibre cable from this pole to the customers property but is the pole connected from the exchange by full fibre or copper.

That's very interesting, I m getting youfibre next month!
great video! What colour fibre does Virgin Media tend to use for the drop link to the house?
Thank you, I would think VM would use black cables for drop wires in OH installs just like other providers
No sorry i was refering to the indivual fibre colours,
Ah you mean the inner fibre in that case I’m not 100% sure as not seen a VM FTTP install first hand
Hook up the rooter?
wait didn't they just use linus tech tips music

@@nsmmedia I'm getting Squirrel, any idea what they are like? I think trustpilot has a lot of fake reviews for this new ISP.
They are good from what I hear
Any jobs going?
Hi Arron best to check on their website fullfibre.co
😂 first 3 seconds and doing exactly what you shouldn’t do with bare fibre…
Maybe the fibre splinter gives him that extra boost
He’s probably safe, the power connected to the fibre is probably off. It’s verrrrrrrry unsafe to touch a love fibre cable
