For all you folks talking smack about the lesson.....how about thinking that this guy does this on his own time trying to help others. If you're advanced, move on to an advanced lesson. So much hate out there....come in folks let's start this year by changing the hate Thanks for the lesson my friend!
I'm not a beginner but just thought I'd say well done on what your doing. Breaking it up slowing it down showing individual finger etc. You are a good teacher well done.
Bb tuning is not "one step" down, it is a half step down. Musically, each fret is a half step move. To move up or down by one step you must move 2 frets.
great job man. i play bass, Keyboard, Drums and sing. i bought a Guitar and have been wanting to learn how to play it well. i got some cords down but your videos are helping me out a lot. do you guys happen to have any dvds with the same teachings?
Do you know how to play it without tuning the guitar half a step down? Because last time, when I tuned my electric guitar a whole step down and tried tuning it back to standard tuning, I broke a string. I have a serious fear of breaking my Marconi acoustic guitar, and it's also because I have trouble singing it with the normal tuning, so I'm just wondering if there are any different chords you can play without tuning it half a step down.
That's the easiest part to figure out - the strumming pattern. Just listen to the song...DUDUUD...all throughout and you can change it up a little during the chorus just play along.
+Jose Preciado Now the chorus is chording Am C G D using a six strum per chord rhythm D-D-U-D D-U on the Am and C chord Then on the G chord is the same pattern but with a little sustain emphasis on the final upstroke D-D-U-D D-(U) Then on the D chord it's stix six strum rhythm only it's U-D ((D-U-D-U)) and let it right out on the final four beats
If you're trying to learn this song or any song for that matter, you should be past the point of having the instructor show you how to play simple chords!
That didnt help worth shit I play with my index finger and my thumb like playing a steel guitar only my dean lays on my lap I'm confused I never Learned how to play upright but looks like you know what your doing thanks anyway pal
Thank you for your feedback. It's nice to get a balance to our hundreds of positive reviews with the odd negative one, believe it or not. Can you elaborate one why teaching is not our thing?
You only teach half of the lesson. You leave out the most important part of getting the song to sound right. THE STRUMMING! We can play the chords over and over and it will never sound right if we don't know the strumming pattern. Did you learn to play guitar by chords only? I doubt it. So don't expect anyone else to solve the strumming mystery, teach us!

Great stuff, thanks for your time ;-)

GorgeousRoddyChrome isn't a half step down E flat tuning?
The High E must go down two frets to be in B?
Strumming is something to be explored depending on how you want to discover the song for your own self
great job man. i play bass, Keyboard, Drums and sing. i bought a Guitar and have been wanting to learn how to play it well. i got some cords down but your videos are helping me out a lot. do you guys happen to have any dvds with the same teachings?
Thank you so much!
very nice thank you for sharing!!!!!
Good job man, thanks
Good concise video for fretting hand. Would be even better with a strumming section showing right hand activity. Thanks!
4:00 your welcome
I agree with Ryan...what's the strumming pattern?
Thanks man, you saved me! 😂
What's the strumming pattern?
1 fret is a half step
Exactly.
GorgeousRoddyChrome Does that mean I can just put a capo on the first fret to get a half step instead of tuning my guitar a half step?
David Luckett Yes.

you should show strumming pattern in future videos and possibly remake this video with strumming pattern
this video made me fall asleep.
> < use the hotkeys type ?
What is the strumming pattern?
Strumming pattern?
Dude you are really good at lessons just one fault. You NEED to show people the strumming pattern or people are gonna start hating (Sorry)
That's the easiest part to figure out - the strumming pattern. Just listen to the song...DUDUUD...all throughout and you can change it up a little during the chorus just play along.
+Thanatos Katakrima If this is for beginners, strumming pattern should be shown
Ryan is right. We are a work in progress and appreciate your input.
STRINGSGuitarSchool.com Your welcome :D
NinjaPotato im a bassist and just got an acoustic guitar and I use my ear almost exclusively for strumming pattern. That and feeling.
I tried to sing along with your playing and couldn't make it fit.
THANK YOU!! great instructon
I thought that's a dsus2? lol same difference?
The strumming please +STRINGSGuitarSchool.com
Tune down step Am C G Dadd9 updown updown use hotkeys like>
Good thing you spent that time telling me to cut my fingernails!! Derp lol
You did not show us the strum pattern. Kind of hard to follow along without that. Chords and progression were great though
What's the strumming pattern
+Jose Preciado Now the chorus is chording Am C G D using a six strum per chord rhythm D-D-U-D D-U on the Am and C chord

Okay if you have to explain to people what a C or an Am is, then they're not ready for this song. They're not even ready to play anything.
Next time strumming pattern maybe ?
Hmmmm......
If you're trying to learn this song or any song for that matter, you should be past the point of having the instructor show you how to play simple chords!
You guitar is tuned a half a step down. Use a tuner dude.
Hi, Thank you so much for your feedback. In about the first ten seconds of the video we explain the tuning needed for this song. Cheers!
That didnt help worth shit I play with my index finger and my thumb like playing a steel guitar only my dean lays on my lap I'm confused I never Learned how to play upright but looks like you know what your doing thanks anyway pal
If you can't figure the strumming pattern without a lesson your in trouble! Try listening to the song?
It's not d add 9 it's d sus
dsus2 more precisely?
this is not how u play its been awhile by staind
I don't think teaching is your thing man.
Thank you for your feedback. It's nice to get a balance to our hundreds of positive reviews with the odd negative one, believe it or not. Can you elaborate one why teaching is not our thing?
your still a great teacher though
dude, its just a basic lesson. Anyone who plays guitar can figure it out, its just a starting point.
i don't think learning is your thing @Fred
K Jay ...yeah...maybe you're right

Damn. Not even close. Wrong tuning and chords.
That didnt help worth shit I play with my index finger and my thumb like playing a steel guitar only my dean lays on my lap I'm confused I never Learned how to play upright but looks like you know what your doing thanks anyway pal
