I'm working on it! I've got most of this part down. I just need to work on repeating it so I feel comfortable. Haven't learned to sing while playing yet. I think that'll come in time. Just have to be patient. I haven't played since I was a teenager, and I'm thirty six now.

I've been playing 5 days and it seemed pretty simple until I got to @7:06 it feels like its impossible to place my fingers correctly. I can hit 3 of the 4 positions A, D ,G or D,G,B but if I attempt to do all 4 I just cant seem to not make it sound like tin cans. Not sure if its because my fingers hurt so bad from pressing hard. (If I dont press hard they sound like tin cans) or maybe my fingers just need punishment.?

@@markwillard1639 you can buy things to improve your dexterity but honestly just keep practicing and try different finger combinations. It doesn’t need to make music sense but it will help to get your fingers moving in different patterns
James Dean for me, as a beginner at least, I can't flatten my fingers properly, though I do try to, and when I finally managed it, when I added the next few fingers for the chord, I can't get it to play, not sure what I'm doing wrong here, hopefully you'll be able to help me out.
+Mittens Loves MC these types of chord are a nightmare for beginners, they require a lot of finger strength! I would suggest flattening your first finger then adding one finger at a time making sure it all sounds clean then add another one! It will take time but believe me you'll get there!
everything was doing good until 6:35 till the end of the video. if you could explain a little better what strings you're hitting or show a better angle on what frets you're holding down, this would be a lot better. I keep having to reply that part over and over and I still don't understand how you're getting that pattern
Really sorry to hear that you're having trouble! The B minor chord is made but without the b string being fretted at the 3rd fret. You then play A string, D string, G string and then the B string. After that you alternate between the D string and B string, adding and removing the 3rd fret on the B string to create the sound! The pattern repeats throughout the chorus using the different chords. Does this help? If not let me know and I'll see what I can do for you!
You cannot see your fingers. You need a different view to help players. Very frustrating. You also talk between strings, notes and chords which new players cannot understand. Seeing the back of your hand doesn't help.

Just a suggestion turn your fretboard more straight onto the camera so your fingers aren't hiding your other fingers.
