I went when I turned forty-five, my brother and his wife brought me there and purchased Josefina for me. She was my first full sized one, I have all the minis, paper dolls, books and patterns, which I collected my self.
Everyone looked adorable in their AG cosplay!! The party looked like sooo much fun!! 🙂 And that was sooo nice of them to give everyone at the party a goodie bag! I'm glad everyone had FUN!! 🙂
I never knew there was a store!! I bought my girls Samantha and Kristen. The original dolls with all the goodies. I think it was $300 for each doll set complete. Samantha is with my granddaughter and she isn't a fan of it yet. Thank you for sharing, it brings back memories and new surprises!!😍😍❤❤❤
I cannot tell you how much joy I get from watching people geek out on something they’re passionate about. I’m so happy for y’all that you could get together and have such a wonderful shared experience over your love for American Girl. I’m glad it was everything you wanted from the experience. How awesome of them to gift y’all those goody bags. You may not “need” another dolls, but you obviously are into the whole American Girl idea and spend a considerable amount of time, effort, and skill into recreating the matching outfits. I think it’s perfectly reasonable to want a doll to commemorate that experience for you. I thought it was awesome to see a gentleman amongst your party. Thanks for sharing your passion with us ❤
I love sewing American Girl doll clothes. My granddaughter Ella has her mother's American Girl dolls and loves playing with them. They have stood the test of time well and so loved. I have made some matching clothes for my granddaughter as well. She dressed as Kirsten for a "come as a book character" day for school. The stories in the books have encouraged her to look at history more deeply. They aren't perfect and it sometimes doesn't make sense that an orphan or immigrant would have so many interesting outfits, but it is a way to engage about what was real and how the stories might be changed to reflect that. I totally enjoyed this video, I so get it!
I had so much fun there, it was a great afternoon! Thanks for letting me use Sam's gray school dress as well! Mom, Kitty, and I were happy to be there! This event made me fall in love with AG dolls all over again ❤ (I was the lady with the purple and black standard poodle. Her name is Kitty. she is my service dog)
Such a fun party! I don’t know if I’ll ever get to see the LA store in person again, but I love the new nostalgic touches. It’s so perfect for AG cosplay.
Hi Rebecca! Thanks for taking us with you to this fun party. I live in Canada. We don’t have American Girl Doll stores here so it was neat to experience it. I loved your Kirstin Cosplay. Everyone looked great! I am thinking of planning a local meet up if I can gather a few people together around Vancouver, BC. How fun to meet everyone in person that you have only known online! I love the name Chloe for your new doll. She is so pretty. 🥰
I visited the American Girl store in New York City. What an adventure. Glad you had the opportunity to visit. The little girl in me was jumping up and down at all the displays. Glad you were able to pick up another doll. 😊
I think it is so sweet that you still collect your favorite dolls even into adulthood. I was a Barbie collector and Little Kittles, but when I started junior high (9th grade) she passed them on to my younger girl cousins, without even asking me. She said I wasn't playing with them anymore, but I said if you noticed, they were all dressed and laying neatly in my antique vanity drawer which would give one the thought that someone really loves these dolls and and is caring for them storing them with great care. In any case, thank you for sharing you trip and fun times with us.
I'm not the least bit into AG but holy crap that looked like such fun. Reminds me of little childhood tea parties! Yeah that's totally not nostalgic tears, you must be mistaken.
It’s such a bummer they didn’t bring back any of Molly’s other stuff from her initial release. Her Christmas dress was beautiful and I loved her little rain coat.
Great insight to the American Girl shop and the party looked cool. Great to see a gentleman there as well. One question, I noticed on the tv screen behind you Rebecca, that while they were showing lots of American Girl dolls, there was also a male doll. Is he called 'American Boy'? Haven't heard anything about him before.
I own wayyy too many BJDs, & one Goetz doll(very similar to American Girl dolls - it was my daughter’s). I however love the stuff!! Have since the 80s. I so wanted to buy it all for my girls but not being obscenely wealthy I just subscribed to the catalog. The quality of the furniture etc has sadly deteriorated. Since I’m a seamstress I make most of my dolls’ clothes, & have a lot of AMG patterns, so don’t know about the quality of the clothing but have heard disappointing things 😞 Now that I’m retired I have bought a bunch of the AMG furniture & other stuff - I have 2 of Kit’s roll top desk - the old ones BTW, Rebecca’s desk/table, Aggie’s school desk & Kit’s dinette set!!! These are perfect for my 60 cm dolls - in fact I think these pieces fit the BJDs better than the AMG dolls!
If I had an opportunity to go to the American Girl store often, I might be tempted to get a doll every time! I wonder if stores still put dolls on display in a way that lets customers hold them. I like that there was even a guy with you in the group, as it reminds me that American Girl can appeal to guys as well.
I've gotten to go to the NYC store, but never got to try the Cafe. Looks like fun! How was the food? One day I'll make me one of Sam's dresses and I'll go.
Yep, there's numbered dolls, which were first designed so kids could get one that looks like them (if they want to) and comes with basically a blank book so you can create your own stories. And there's custom ones where you can choose their individual eye color/face shape/etc.

I'm so glad that you had fun, and that's you and your mom (and Kitty!) were able to join us! Also, I apologize if I've now gotten you hooked on AG! 😉
@@LadyRebeccaFashions no need to apologize! It's a fun, new hobby. Sewing tiny clothes is a whole new skill.
Such a fun party! I don’t know if I’ll ever get to see the LA store in person again, but I love the new nostalgic touches. It’s so perfect for AG cosplay.
So much fun! Thanks for taking us along.

Your party look smashing, i bet the attention to detail etc in all the cosplay costumes earned those adorable goodie bags.😊❤
That really looked fun. A great idea that probably amused and amazed everyone in the store! Wonder how many girls want to be you when they grow up

Aww, that happened to my mom, too - her sister sold my mom's Barbies at a garage sale because she thought my mom was too old for them!
I love american girl dolls now my daughter wants one

This is awesome
So fun
Omg American girl, Chloe Ellefson series, and sewing! We need to be friends 😂 I bought my 1st Chloe Ellefson book at a Norwegian museum in Decorah IA!
I love that the locations in the book are selling the books! That's adorable.
I am probably wrong, but i thought Chloe was a Greek name.
Every time you do one of these American girl doll cosplays i want to do a Laura Secord one. But the cow would be a problem.
It’s such a bummer they didn’t bring back any of Molly’s other stuff from her initial release. Her Christmas dress was beautiful and I loved her little rain coat.
I miss my Mall of America store.

Yep, there's a few boy numbered dolls, plus one named doll (Logan) that came out a few years ago as the friend of another doll.

Hmmm I just don’t get the hype over the doll. But glad you had fun.
the buffalo nickle was great lol
I wanna go!!
I wish you could have joined us!
This was so so so fun! Thank you so much for including me ❤❤ it was awesome to see you and your incredible Kirsten cosplay in person
I'm so glad you were able to come and that we were finally able to meet in person! ❤️

Oh yes, there's lots of guys that collect AG! And a few of the displays were playable, but the majority were under plexiglass.
I've gotten to go to the NYC store, but never got to try the Cafe. Looks like fun! How was the food? One day I'll make me one of Sam's dresses and I'll go.
It was a little on the basic side, but still very tasty! (And the cake was delicious!)
What eye shadow was Editing Rebecca wearing? It's gorgeous on you.
Thanks! I'm pretty sure it was from a colourpop palette called Ctrl + alt + glam.
Please tell me who made that Kit dress and if they take orders?!?
She made her own dress! I don't think she takes commissions though.
I vote for keeping her name Chloe, but I’d want a Roelke to go with her. 😂
she looks like my niece, Allison
Re-release Felicity!!! 😭
Wait, American Girl has dolls without names and stories?
Yep! And I don't know if they still do this, but when I was a kid you could even customize your own doll.
