You should (almost) always in the beginning of the game pick shields and spawn cards like camps and druids. You can take the slow start to really ramp up to 2b health bosses. Also try to quickly buy out all artifacts. Then you can also pick the items that can give shields, flags and spears to ninjas. The flags are the best merge. You need pick the flag spear and sword crate to also start spawning them in the early game so that they all lvl up. Reached lvl 95 with this strat while making potions as well.
Ninjas, beasts a few potion makers, and the equipment spawner. MUST obtain the skill to increase the range of your pieces with a lucky devil trade. made it to round 92, also eliminated means things like the broken sword being used, or potions. things that get removed from game when used.
Treasure Chests can be worth it as they provide free buffing pieces without you needing to waste a selection. I always try to keep one upgraded chest in my inventory.
Thus far my record is round 92. Stats get up into the billions at that point. Enhancement is the way to go. It stacks into ridiculous levels. When you make it far enough in rounds capsules will spawn as a selection in rewards that let you combo non similar units with their effect again stacking.
Sifd and retromation have both played this game. Sifd has done multiple videos and I think Reto played one episode of the demo and one of the release(if I remember correctly 🤷♀️). Just wanted to let you know in case you wanted to compare notes and strategy. 😊
Flags are not banners. After the flag-bearer perk you should have taken every FLAG you were given, every ninja would have turned to a flag-bearer given each other 100% more damage after a few flags.
Yo you can when you’re not in a battle look at in your inventory and drag the pieces you don’t want like the soldiers into the trash can and dealer them for money
The Blacksmith is the upgrade shop... enchantress is not... Also, upgrade the artifacts... you've got good ones but never upgrade them. (Okay, you did later)

I love the art direction in this game. Its just understated in a way that is eye-catching. It completely conveys the info u need very well

You can sell the unnecessary items for money
This is hugely important
good video,
you can toggle what group you want to get, not what group you don't want,
From what I saw the nest speed up the timer of multiple timer based units
You can sell items. Or trash them in the trashcan in your inventory tab.

My guy holding onto those useless soldiers for way too long
Made it to lvl 101 and started glitching…it’s probably my computer though
Skipping the ninja scroll and banner was so painful to see
